VC, I saw your comment a few threads back and here’s my response…The weather here has dropped today and we expect a dusting of snow on the mountains by Thursday morning/turning to nothing by lunchtime. Temps are in the 70/80’s during the day – very comfortable.

We gonna haf to discuss this “old girl” theme of yours – real soon…

๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜† No discussion (a la Boehner)! You accept what you are called, while I expect I’ll be addressed as ‘Ms VC’ by you going forward.

Did you say ‘snow on the mountains’? Somehow I can’t picture snow on those arid mountains I saw. Temperatures here are really quite good for now. I only put my sweater on the occasions mentioned because I normally wear sleeveless/spaghetti straps tops and I was feeling a bit chilled around the edges. The sweater wasn’t on for even 5 minutes at a time!

Ah anytime Pres Obama talks to us my blood pressure comes down. But I loathe those WHCA jackals. Ugh

Rats! CC distracted me with that false picture of her athletic prowess! (That’s the story I’m sticking with for this delayed arrival. ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

  5. October 8, 2013 at 1:38 pm

I am checking in today in reverse order of my usual in that I am starting with the newest post then will go read the older posts. Problem with that is I am not aware of what has been discussed prior.
My thoughts are that somehow the general public needs to know that there were numerous attempts to negotiate with the GOP earlier and according to the NYT article this is their strategy to take down the economy and blame it on PBO. The media both sides picture is taking hold.

There must be some shivering in the boots going on, even FOX is broadcasting PBO presser. This may be the first time in a very long time that they allowed their viewers to see PBO speak live. Last time he spoke, they aired some underwater sea pottery art craft.

Isn’t this total insanity—–this predicament—– all the “manufactured crises”—–that President Obama is forced to address? It’s beyond mind-boggling.

    • 87 jacquelineoboomer
      October 8, 2013 at 2:29 pm

Yes, it is. Think what President Obama could get accomplished, with Republican “partners” in Congress and around the country. He’d meet ’em all half way. They’re all too busy being (a) haters, (b) stupid.

    • 91 jacquelineoboomer
      October 8, 2013 at 2:31 pm

Very soothing. He has confidence, full knowledge, the desire to work hard for the American people, a clear conscience, and a pure heart. He doesn’t have to get worried about being tripped up amid a pack of lies, like other politicians. I love our President!

Bob, first of all a big THANK YOU for all that you do for PBO and the American people! Notice PBO’s use of words: extortion and ransom…..PBO and Eric holder are on it!!! I think!

        October 8, 2013 at 4:45 pm

Layla, you hit the nail right on the head. “PBO and Eric Holder are on it!!! I think!. Count on it, Layla. Take it to a very good bank. Rest on it. President Barack H. Obama is Not playing and AG Eric Holder is not playing. These fools are trying to mess with the President who is not playing their shit game. Trust me.HZ

I was hoping that the government would reopen today in celebration of Bill R.’s and my birthday but it doesn’t look like it is going to happen. I am looking forward to the President’s statement and am especially looking forward to his smack down of the jackals that will be asking the stupid questions.

The President – so far – is ignoring the fucking front row. Excuse the loose tongue, but I’m overjoyed.

  27. October 8, 2013 at 2:41 pm

So, from my TL I see that PBO is employing serious snark.

    • 121 jacquelineoboomer
      October 8, 2013 at 2:45 pm

He even used Tally’s “holding their breath” remark about the toddler GOPers! Ha.

    • 122 dotster3
      October 8, 2013 at 2:46 pm

Not sure about snark—–I would call it laying down the truth and facts—–while pointing out the absurdity of the Repub’s ransom demands, using similar personal examples——like– I’m not going to pay my mortgage unless bank throws in a car and an x box.

Best line for me is when he points out that the pubs thought:

“The president is so responsible, we’ll hold our breath and threaten default, and he’ll give us what we want”

What they failed to realize was that he’s so responsible that he wouldn’t let them ‘dis’ the United States under his watch.

  40. 153 dotster3
    October 8, 2013 at 2:55 pm

PBO—-exposing it all—-the tea party crazies, the “extremists” in our govt., causing these crises. Repubs in gerrymandered districts, only fear a tea party challenge, not a challenge from a Dem, not interested in attracting independents, not interested in doing right for the U.S.

Once again, I have to miss this being at work. Thanks to TOD and Twitter, I am able to get a good sense of what is happening. I hope, if this lingers much longer he goes to prime time.

  42. October 8, 2013 at 3:01 pm

LOLOL, conservatives on Twitter are whining because PBO is talking too long. They know he’s laying out a menu of truth, and their shills can’t interrupt him.

Some of ’em are hollering out, out of turn, “Mr. President ~ ” Maybe it was Chuck, Ed, Major and Jon, the sitting ducks in the front row.

Oh, a few temper tantrums were coming from the first row. I think the President said, “I’m just going through my list, guys, talk to Jay.”

At the D.C. pub later, either Chuck, Ed, Major or Jon will drop a quarter in the jukebox (Ha) or bring up their iTunes list and play this song, while they wallow in their misery of not being called on:
