I know net to nothing about S.Dakota, but man…….

We remind readers that, like it or not, the health care law is just that โ€” the law. The time for trying to prevent it has passed. In fact, Americans were allowed to start signing up for health insurance under the lawโ€™s new exchanges at the exact same time as the government shut down Tuesday morning. For the Republican extremists to continue opposing the law at this stage is like gulping birth control pills while a babyโ€™s head is crowning.

Now why don’t the national, so called mainstream, media speak as plainly as the editors of SD’s Mitchell Republic paper? I am absolutely convinced that if the American people were being told the TRUTH by the national media, Republicans would never have dared to shut down the government, or threaten not to pay the nations’s debts.

This is the kind of story that does wonders for women in the workforce. She’s not trying to “have it all”; she’s just enjoying and making the most of what she has – kids, a job she loves and which she finds fulfilling. And that eliminates a lot of the pressure women may feel to make a choice or try to do everything. She’s living. I love it.

The negotiations have already happened – that’s how we got the Sequester and the 986B CR (i.e. the GOP number). If there had been no negotiation, the Democrats would still be proposing a budget of $1.2T.

Fox News Poll Finds Disapproval Of GOP Skyrocketing After They Shut Down Government

… Fox News poll, disapproval of the Republican Party has jumped from 46% in September of 2012 to 59% today…..Approval of the Republican Party has fallen from 45% to 35%.

You hit the nail on the head, Bob. The teabaggers make up less than 20% of the population. It’s just that their voices are amplified by the right wing media. The GOP have deluded themselves that they are speaking for a majority of voices – but, the only way these teabaggers win in 2014 is if Democrats don’t vote.

…Montanaโ€™s open U.S. Senate seat should be one of the most-watched Senate battles in the nation in 2014, as Republicans attempt to take control of the body next year. Democrats currently hold a 54-46 majority….

Really wonderful news, Bob! I think people are beginning to wake up all over this country. They are fed up with these home grown terrorists, masquerading as Republicans, who are trying to destroy our country simply because they are angry that the majority of Americans elected President Obama twice.

Last time I mention my plumber – cause he turned up an hour ago – after I rang the company and wanted to know why it takes 5 DAYS for them to respond to a call – and perchance someone FORGOT to order some parts – and 1 hour later – amazing – they are here.

Boehner has no place to hide – like my plumber gave up on the stonewalling, Boehner will realize he has to pass the Senate CR

Glad your plumber finally got there and got the job done, 99ts. I have to add though that I find it telling of my addiction when I wish someone goodnight, they go away and sleep, then come back and find that I’d merely shifted location in the time they were away. I spent my entire day on line watching the villagers go by or the GOP moaning!!!!!!

Just ordered chicken tikka masala for the missus and I. Enjoying a yummy gin & tonic. Will have another. And got Lady Cheesy Poofs to buy an excellent book. Oh, and wrote a piece in hot white anger. All in all, a not entirely bad day.

Right now: just ordered chicken tikka masala for the missus and I. Enjoying a fine gin & tonic. Will have another. And a night full of UCLA football (American version) ahead of me. Not a bad evening.

I just read something that is going to blow up the GOP very quickly. This is unbelievable. This is Huffpo, but I’m really tired. Haven’t gotten a lot of sleep last night and there are links in this really well-done article. The investing companies are weighing in on the cost of the #GOPShutDown and it is HUGE! This will shake up businesses, investors. This will get the attention of the big boys. I hope the GOP gets in SO MUCH TROUBLE!!!!! Midterms=>11/4/14

The GOP’s Shutdown Tab: One Billion Dollars and Counting
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rj-eskow/the-gops-shutdown-tab-one_b_4034314.html

….hat $1.6 billion per week figure first received widespread publicity when Morgan Stanley’s analytical team began discussing the potential cost of the shutdown, expressed in “basis points” (see notes below), in an investor newsletter this week. (A Morgan Stanley team member confirmed the number with us on Wednesday.) Other groups, including IHS Global Insight, have since offered similar estimates…..

I love and highly respect VP Biden! I don’t know about any one else here at TOD, but VP Joe Biden is my #1 choice should he decide to run for president in 2016. I am not getting any younger, but I will work tirelessly for his nomination and his election. He is the real deal! I was so proud of President Obama when he selected him for VP. That decision confirmed to me how serious President Obama was about governing.

We all knew that POTUS would nip the trip as long as John Boehner and his fellow RWNJs are still on their training diapers needing supervision.

I watched a doco on what it takes to organize the President’s trips – the cost of cancellation will be massive – everything Boehner is doing at the moment is costing the US money – the $1.6 billion / week estimate mentioned above is probably the low end of the true cost.

But to the media – it is a game. I hope they all had to pay their share of the cancellation – actually I hope they are charged 3 times the usual rate for causing the shutdown & the cancellation by pretending GOP lies are truth.

      • 111 MightyPamela
        October 3, 2013 at 11:25 pm

Not to mention the months of planning and the expense to the countries hosting the President of the United States. The incivility of the GOP to enjoy this cancellation is rude beyond all extremes. The disappointment of the peoples in those countries will only come back onto the GOP with the usual bad karma attached. They will have earned it.

Of course not, since they took them he hasn’t had the courage to go after them.
