Hi
This was an interesting interview.
Except I wish interviewers wouldn’t interrupt answers to show how knowledgeable (?) they are.
VC!
HellooOOOoo, old girl!
Heyyyyy it’s VC!!!
The quiet version, anyways. ๐
I can’t imagine why I’ve felt so tired and disinclined to speak today. In the old days, a parent would have been sure I was ‘coming down with something’.
Hello, GGail! What’s cooking in your corner?
They got me working so hard I can pay attention much to TOD ๐ฆ
Poor soul! Hang in there – the pressure is temporary, right?
vc, I thought this pressure was temporary – last week, but it returned – this week – Ugh!!!!
Is it linked to something specific (like end of financial season, etc.) or a general uptick? If the latter wouldn’t it imply that a new hire is, maybe, on the horizon?
Naw, I’m the one with the uptick in interviews – remember, I do the interviewing. I’m very happy our California economy is improving, but it means more work for me (yea/ugh)
Big smile then, (no grunts allowed)! An improving economy anywhere adds to my president’s creds – in my book anyway. ๐
I’m with cha on that sista!
๐
I was wondering what was up with you today – very quiet. I almost sent out a search party earlier, but then saw a brief post from you.
Send….search…..party……quick….!!! ๐
๐
๐
.
.
I can never see clearly enough to see if that smilie sticks its tongue out at people or just makes a na-nanna na-na face, but I’ll let you take your pick.
Hahahaha – I’m cool, either way
Well now, Theo, I CAN be quiet
….
when my battery runs down. ๐
(Actually, I didn’t have much to say today so I basically observed.)
Congrats. Nobody else I would prefer to see get #1 (but don’t let any of the others know).
O….kay. ๐ I like secrets ……when I’m on the inside.
I really appreciated the fact that Pres O delivery was consistently calm – even when Harwood TRIED to interrupt.
Of course, I resented Harwood (that’s his name, right?) trying to say Pres O wasn’t exasperated enough in his voice/manner. ๐
You noticed Hardwood tried to interrupt when President Obama was making the point that congress has two constitutional obligations. Create a budge and pay our bills. THAT’S THEIR JOB. At the bare minimum they should be able to do that. And as PBO said yesterday you don’t get to extract a ransom just to do your freaking job. Or because you just don’t like a particular law.
I noticed, LadyH. I wasn’t impressed with him at all, but then I never watch these things to see these dolts anyway.
Love PBO
Yes.
Gold for the Golden VC ๐
Congrats.
Holy smokes…..Chips, lady, you are faster than Usain Bolt.
Thank you, Lady.
Oooh, thanks Chipsticks! This is the only way I would have been able to view this interview.
You are moooooooooooost welcome GGail!!
More GREAT Obamacare stories ๐ ๐ ๐
There must be an extraordinary level of cognitive dissonance being felt by some Republicans right now – those who voted for Romney thinking he would repeal Obamacare on day 1, while now busy signing up on the exchanges….
And in light of these emerging positive stories, the GOP TeaNuts are going to sound dumber and dumber if they keep saying they want to take it away.
Reince Priebus is 12 years old:
Wasserman tweets:
Then Reince says:
What a vile, repulsive piece of shit.
Great sum up, Chips. I like the way you think.
We are one, Jackie!!
And to think, he was elected because he was one of the more mature ones.
my god, i clicked through to his page and it’s all about the WWII memorial photo-op they staged. clearly that whole thing is some stunt they dreamed up, and it’s literally all reince can talk about. this is the guy “the news” allows on to talk, often unchallenged, as much as he wants??!!? these people are subhuman…there are millions of families right now suffering because of their little games, and he’s smugly joking around about a memorial?!? yes, vile people.
Such Intense Hatred Reince – he’s resorted to juvenile retorts as his only recourse. This is so sad.
indeed.
Yup. Pretty much sums it up.
Thank you so much, Chips, for telling it like it is!
Ah, my pleasure Nathkatun!
this may be the tweet of the day, Chips.
I was tempted just to say “go **** yourself”, 57 – but I resisted. I must be maturing ๐
Glad I saw the quotation marks. For a minute there I was thinking, “Oh no. What did I do?!?!”
Frankly, his childishness is just another example of how unfit they are to be anywhere near power.
You know, when I read it back that’s what it looked like!!!!! ๐
their childishness = mark of unfitness
That’s how I see them too, 57. Curiously enough, they all are.
๐ ๐ ๐
THANK YOU.
I am sick to death of these vile CREEPS.
Well done.
Thank you Theo!
thanks for this response – reince is rotten to the core and it shows
My pleasure Linda, he’s rotten to the core.
Chips, you are absolutely brilliant! I hope all TOD twitter worriers will re-twitt your tweet, over and over again. It captures what’s truly at stake with “Obama Care.”
now why’s he want to interrupt my President..?
He gets paid by the interruption.
lol.. well said LL ๐ ๐
hahahahahaha
Hi TOD. Sherijr, they have to “remind” themselves that they are smarter than PBO. NOT !
I agree, and I think too, that theres a real macho thing w/ these media people- they all seem to have a need to appear to the viewers as being tougher/bolder/smarter/more man than POTUS and they never fail to come off looking like total rude jackasses. I wonder if they even realize they are just about as unpopular as the republicans? ๐
There needs to be more of these – people need to take to the streets in droves and call out the GOP.
Check barackobama.com/events for your zip code and start a protest event if there isn’t one near you. Be sure to mention it would be treason to default, too.
wow John Harwood is rather a dick.. talking to POTUS about HIS โtoneโ ?? good grief.. he ought to hear my tone- daily about these CRAVEN STUPID AWFUL LOW-DOWN DIRTY Republiskunks and the HELL they are intentionally putting citizens of this country through. Heโs lucky POTUS is so dang kindโฆ Iโd have swatted him off his smug little chair.
You see…..they allow the TBGOPers and the idjits in the press to use any old tone against president Obama. POTUS has to take it……I guess in their wicked minds.
They Never ever ask Chris Christie about his Tone. Do they?
Yep, this is why I hardly ever listen/watch videos of interviews of POTUS, because they infuriate me- the disgusting rudeness of these pri*ks isn’t worth it. I know what POTUS has to say- because he’s consistent. They might as well just have John McCain or Eric Cantor do their interviews.
I’m furious about that question and the way he plays the race card. SICKENING assumptions that are absolutely not supported by any evidence whatsoever.
oh yeah, agree… that shit about white people hating Obamacare is a total made up crock.. he pulled that one outta his arse, meta.
Unfreakinbelievable. Just total horsejuice.
As I have always said……the 98% of so called Journos who cover this POTUS have subconscious and bent out of shape subtle racial animus against this president. Then they run around and imply that POTUS is playing the race card. They bring it up when they want negative narrative and then deny race when they see others using horrific words.
It’s some of the ugliest stuff I’ve ever seen because they think we don’t know.
The most generous interpretation is that Hardwood wanted the President to have a chance to debunk the myth that the ACA is aimed at helping minorities.
Will watch later if I can bear Harwood’s smugness (which is pretty much all the DC echo-chamber has going for it now; can’t bear to even read their tweets — feel stupider after I read them).
But really???
How many times did he caution GWB on his tone?
And look what a mess GWB left for President Obama and the rest of the country.
well georgie was their good ole boy and one of them. White, male republican.
Well said Sherijr! By the way, President Obama can’t win with either the tea baggers, the mainstream media, or the “holier than thou” liberal leftists. David Corn, at the liberal “Mother Jones,” tells the President to unleash his angry Black man diatribe against the insane Republicans; John Harwoood, however, representing the mainstream media, thinks that the President’s tone, pointing out the unprecedented insanity of the teabag faction leading the Republicans in the House of Representatives that engineered a government shut-down, was too harsh on Republicans.
In any case, I think President Obama was his usual brilliant self in this interview with John Harwood! The PRESIDENT, handled Harwood’s snarky questions with calm, resolve and reasonableness.
hello Nath- absolutely agree with you… he never fails to be perfect in these interviews.. because its all natural, who he is.. and I love listening to his thoughtful answers.. I just cannot bear the idiocy of the media personalities, thus I usually don’t watch these interviews. But as usual POTUS was the only gentleman and the only grown up.
BOOM. Vc you are soo right about this!!!
Kaboom.
Dialing on Frank Lindz…..you see.
Loving it, VC!!!! Thanks for posting it, hf.
๐ณ
Is it me, or did POTUS look particularly spry and spiffy in this interview?
He’s in in tip-top form and ready to rumble, 57 ๐
That was my impression, Bob.
Yes indeed!
POTUS was certainly ‘spry and spiffy’ of voice. I was sooooooo tickled by the utter confidence of his voice, particularly at the moments when he was interrupted. He oh so calmly continued what he was saying, with determination and….power. I tell you, some of you ‘flip’ at the way PBO looks, but I’m a voice (as in good, confident, intelligent, speaker) person.
That is the very quality makes Harwood feel so small bec he has to confront why he can never be President! PBO is all any of them could ever be and it makes them feel inadequate!
It’s a pity they hold it against him then, because it’s not his fault they feel/are inadequate.
All the #Emotarians and other fools roaming the intertubes speculating President Obama will ‘cave’ or ‘negotiate’ re: opening the Government or paying the bills should just watch that interview and listen.
We are now going to see what happens when the guy who got OBL looks at Boehner and McConnell and says – ‘I will never allow any faction of any party to extract ransom by threatening default or closure of the Federal Government. …. Make my day.’
#TrustBarack
Shorter PBO: Please Proceed, GOP.
OKAY? The veterans are not fooled…..and neither are we, the people.
The Great Generation the most selfless bunch in our lifetime are not easily fooled.
They gave and they quietly and patiently did their Jobs never complaining.
They know REAL from REEL.
Every congress member who voted to shut down the government should have to give up their government sponsored health care for themselves and their family members while the government is shut down.
Any Congress member who violated their oath and voted to shut down the government should simply step down. I could care less what they do with themselves or their families. Leave the governing to people who actually want to work for their constituents.
If any of you have been watching CSPAN in the last hour, you will notice that the DEMs seem even MORE resolved, more confident, more determined to not budge at any further request put by the GOP. If it means this shutdown will last for 2+ weeks, then that is what will have to happen.
I also believe that the media is noticing the same thing and as a result is becoming increasingly anxious – hence MSNBC’s instigation of their wishful thinking “cave” narrative, that some emoprogs have foolishly ran away with.
I’m not watching CSPAN, but I believe when they saw their leader (i.e. President Obama) taking the GOP to the woodshed, it emboldened them. They all know this is a fight worth fighting, and that the country’s very democracy is at stake.
Verdict Reached in the MJ lawsuit by his Mom and kids? It will be announced at 3:30PM PT.
I hope the verdict will hold that company responsible.
POTUS with his quiet, dignified and calm way stated what the problem is and how to easily resolve it.
An Up and Down Vote and Gov’t is reopened.
And here we go. Looking forward to more GOP stories.
Hi Folks
I’m out and about today – looking for a retirement home – and the next couple of weeks in the US will probably determine whether or not the money we have to buy one disappears down the hole with the GOP – or is saved by your President and the democrats. Our current abode is out in the ‘burbs, getting old, too far from anywhere & costing the earth to maintain (when you can find someone for doing the maintain)
What I have said before – and am entirely sick of is the GOP using war as their reason for being – even with the current impasse – the GOP is using vet affairs and a war memorial in its attempt to blackmail the American People. It is like they celebrate war, the dead, and the unborn incessantly – yet the young, the old and the living are trash at their feet.
If it wasn’t 8am in the morning I would think I am drunk with anger – maybe I haven’t sobered up from yesterday. It’s been good to read all the positive issues about the ACA at TOD – shame the media has forgotten about it – guess the computers must have been working well today – sigh
And another thing that annoys me – other than the President’s speeches – EVERY video I see is one member of the media interviewing another member of the media – surely that must realize in their current form no sane person wants to talk to any of them – the US media is to blame for at least 50% of the GOP’s attitude.
Obamacare Glitches Are Realโand Matter Less Than You Think
BY JONATHAN COHN
—————————————-
Republicans and their allies are reveling in Obamacareโs implementation glitches. But their solution isnโt to provide people with some easier, quicker, and more reliable source of insurance. Itโs to replace a system that has some early, fixable technological problems with no system at all. Itโs to stop people from getting health insuranceโand take it away from those, like Mr. Stryker, who are already getting it. That’s a tough sell.
With every day, more and more people are discovering that Obamacare is a source of securityโand a way to get the heath care they have always needed. This is the reality Republicans have always feared. Confronted with the reality of Obamacare, rather than the rightโs distorted version of it, people will cherish it.

Anyone remember the time rodent Cantor was invited to the White House as part of the leadership team and what happened to his pompous self?
Well, based on the media reports of the encounter, that rodent Cantor attempted to disrespect PBO with some rude direct confrontation .
PBO put a stop to that disrespect in a few choice words (and possibly a look) with a push back that pest said : “startled him”.
I doubt he will ever try that nonsense again.
As for the Weeper of the House, I hope he remembers when he arrogantly said that he got 90 (95?)% of what he wanted – after another negotiation with PBO
Why the heck isn’t this all over the freaking news?
Rhetorical question. Don’t answer, I already know.

I used that article to tweet a message to that dude Reince and his ass hattery
Bachmann’s PR team is a few steps behind. Schadenfreude!
and the other teabag numbnut—-can’t remember which one—-said they all were just “giddy” about the shutdown.
Have McConnell & Boehner emerged from the White House …. holding their asses in their hands …. ๐
Probably dragging them behind them.
Ha!
just saw that tweet from the rnc head Reince sent to the DNC Chairperson (Ms. Wasserman Schultz).
these republicans have perfected bullying – no wonder the same bunch of fools elected him as head
New post: http://theobamadiary.com/2013/10/02/obamacare-was-made-for-young-people-like-this/
I had little problem with the interview. The tone question: It gave the president and inadvertently, Harwood contributed to it, the opportunity to remind people that he IS a rock on this issue, that he is rightly exasperated with the shenanigans of the repubs. It is amazing to me so many Americans think both sides are to blame. I had to explain it to my grown daughters. Did you hear what he said? It is ONLY after the pass that clean CR that he will talk about the budget, or anything dealing with healthcare improvements, not repeal or defund. To me , that is Boehner’s out.
