I can’t believe it’s happened. My heart goes out to all those affected. I really hope the GOP pays heavily for this, but 2014 is so far away.

    • October 1, 2013 at 1:17 am

I’m with you Betsy. They should definitely pay for this come the next election. In the meantime, many people will suffer because of their puerile and irresponsible antics.

    To my TP idiot:

As a constituent, I want you to hear me loud and clear. The GOP has failed to do their jobs for the American people, you included! To shut down the federal govt ON PURPOSE is more than disgusting. It’s bordering on sedition. Your vote (and ALL the Republicans) tonight made it perfectly clear that you do not work on behalf of the people of Arizona that will lose millions of dollars a DAY in revenue, jobs furloughed, families in turmoil (AGAIN). Enough of this! If you hate the govt SO MUCH, get out of it! Oh wait, YOU still get a paycheck while the rest of us wonder how to navigate this Republican temper tantrum! You bring shame on the office you hold. You forgot who you work for and what it means to represent others.I’m livid and I won’t sit down and I won’t be quiet.Shame on you. Don’t bother sending a response. Why bother. I don’t believe a word you say.2014 can’t come soon enough. You own this.

I was sedate. I’m exhausted of this damn dog and pony show.

I am so glad that the millions of people who have no health insurance will now have the opportunity to get covered. Thank you President Obama and all who voted for the ACA.

Glitches at healthcare.gov. Security question fields are blank when trying to create an account. Live chat is very busy. I’ve been waiting about 20 minutes. Just an update to let you guys know what’s going on. I wanted no glitches of this sort for the bastards to take advantage of.

      October 1, 2013 at 12:51 am

Good luck, 57:) I know how much this means to you. My kids will be on there, as will I. As for the glitches….to be expected. The entire GOP has a damn “glitch” they can’t seem to fix! I dare them to open their yaps.

      • 16 57andfemale
        October 1, 2013 at 12:53 am

There are glitches and there are glitches. Security questions to create an account should come up. If the website was overwhelmed, I wouldn’t think twice. this is the kind of software glitch that shouldn’t happen. It’s not about being patient – it’s about any fuel given to the evildoers.

You get some sleep. I will continue updates so TOD is informed on how things are going.

      October 1, 2013 at 12:52 am

I think because of this is the grand opening of the ACA the state exchanges and the federal site are going to be overwhelmed at times. That’s just part of the process.

      • 19 57andfemale
        October 1, 2013 at 12:56 am

Overwhelmed is fine. I expect ‘overwhelmed.’ saying they are overwhelmed would be comforting, actually. Security question fields not coming up – that’s a software problem.

I’m NOT complaining. I’m just doing this is real time and I assume TOD would like to know how things are going.

softwares do get overwhelmed. It’s all about available bandwidth and the traffic.

            October 1, 2013 at 1:03 am

amk, thanks. I chose a username and password. I’m afraid to leave the site and wait for things to calm down. Do you think I’d be able to still create an account if I went and got some sleep, or should I hang in there for the live chat?

            • 22 amk for obama
              October 1, 2013 at 1:09 am

              Two things happened.

Your username and pwd got registered and only your security question didn’t go through. If that is the case, you can sill login later and update/edit your profile.

The other thing: Your username and pwd didn’t go through. Then you simply re-register later, when the mad traffic is over. This is course if your username was not already taken .

Good explanation from amk 57 – I know how long you have waited for this – it IS going to happen – Given that the number of people enrolling will be more than the total population of my country – it may take just a little longer and there will be some glitches (which the GOP will use for their propaganda). Take care of you.

Yes, people staying put on the website will not help and may only add to the madness. Not to mention that the #traitors will try to jam the process in any way they can, especially here at first, hoping that people who need it the most will be disgusted in frustration. Do you really think they have live chats at this hour? No one else does that I’ve ever tried in the insane wee hours trying get something done.

My friend believes that after the government shut-down, the Repubs will not raise the debt ceiling, forcing President Obama to do something to maintain the full faith and credit of the U.S., and then they’ll bring impeachment proceedings. I know that no weapon formed against this man will succeed. He is our gift from God for this time.

    • 31 57andfemale
      October 1, 2013 at 1:06 am

It’s a possibility. I am finally beyond being shocked by what they will do.

Let’s remember, Boehner could have avoided this. Let’s also remember that alleged ‘moderate’ Republicans in the Senate voted in lockstep for this.

The country has gone effing mad.

    • 33 nathkatun7
      October 1, 2013 at 5:39 am

They can bring all their impeachment proceedings, but once gain they will fail miserably as was the case when they impeached Bill Clinton. There is absolutely no way 67 U.S. Senators will vote to remove President Obama from office. Absolutely no way! Unless, of course liberal Democrats decide to to join the Teabaggers! What we have here is an exercise in futility! John Boehner has to be the most spineless Speaker in the history of the United States.

      • October 1, 2013 at 9:38 pm

I know he will not be convicted, but it just makes me sad that he would have to go through that, while working to move our country forward every day. The smile on his face as he hugs that older woman, wakes me think he was thinking of his mother.

They have been terrorizing this country for years under the disguise of the KKK.
KKKoch bros. just found use for them and funded their lost cause.
They will not prosper. Just shown who they really are.

After a half hour of waiting for the live chat at healthcare.gov, it automatically shut down. I’m seeing tweets that this is happening. I’ll wait until things calm down. Just hope my name, username and password don’t get screwed up if I leave in the middle of the process (I’ve had that happen to me before).

I’ll leave the window open and keep checking back periodically. I’ll keep everyone informed.

I think Dems need to start sending a message of fear of the voters to the gop starting next month in NJ.

At this point, voting against the much-hyped Christie would send a powerful message that voters are tires of ALL republicans

I fell asleep still hoping that the House would do their last minute “save the day” stunt, although I should have seen the handwriting on the wall as I watched Republicans continue to vote in lockstep with no defectors. So disheartening.

It’s also unsettling that a minority of the GOP can control the actions of the GOP congress…both chambers. Even those so-called moderates who claimed that they were ready to vote on a clean CR…voting party line just encourage the wack-wings of the party to keep doing what they were doing; it signaled full support.
