So is Boehner trying to run out the clock and will he rush in to save the day at 11:55pm?

    • September 30, 2013 at 11:24 pm

Likely … or sometime after midnight but before 8a ET Tuesday ….

O! I didn’t know that there was a little space after midnight. Thank you for slowing down my heartbeats, Bob.

        • September 30, 2013 at 11:42 pm

VC, they can vote the Senate ‘clean’ CR anytime whether before midnight or after … this latest stunt, i.e., ‘go to conference before passing the CR’ is the stooopist yet because it has enabled Dems to point out that the Rs have blocked going to conference on the budget legislation 18 times in the past 6 months.

These are truly not only vile but exceptionally incompetent people. If they went into battle, or any real corporate confrontation the way they are behaving they’d be vaporized or owned, respectively, in mere minutes.

I guess I was unclear – I am wondering if they voted after midnight AND BEFORE 8am would that mean that there would literally/technically be no shutdown?

His faith keeps him grounded and secured.

Lana, you are correct. President Obama’s faith does keep him calm and grounded. That is a fact. Plus, President Obama knows where his core is no matter how hard politics is played against him every day he is in that Oval Office.

Fact, that I know personally: President Obama does have Prayer Warriors praying for him daily all twenty-four hours. Count on it.HZ

Senator Reid has already rejected any notion of ‘conference’ with the House unless they pass the ‘clean CR’ …. we should muster as many patriots as possible to bring the heat to Boehner through the night until he allows a vote on the Senate CR – which will pass and allow the government to stay open.

I feel so sick for all the people that will be affected by this! These Repubs have no heart, compassion, or morals. This is so awlful. I don’t know if I will get much sleep tonight. So many people to worry about.

I called it. I said that the republicans in the house would shut down the government and it looks like it will happen. The tea baggers are so crazy that they will do anything in order to stop the ACA.

GN folks, we need our energy because 2014 is coming and we don’t dare let the GOP catch its breath. PBO has a tendency to let his opponents save face, but I don’t think even he is going to stop the pressure on the GOP until after the mid-terms

Watching Nancy Smash and the Dem team on CSPAN. All that has to happen is for the House to vote on the CR with current sequester numbers in place, but noooooo, Boehner who’s likely on a bar stool somewhere still wants to play this stupid charade. There is no end game, and they are going to hate tomorrow’s headlines. All for 45 days, when the CR expires.

That fictional President was dealing with some of the same showboating that we’re seeing today. I loved that scene – and the smackdown delivered to the right wingers shortly afterwards while they wallowed in their arrogance.

Mr. Bobfr, you were not wrong. You were hopeful like a lot of us here because POB who we trust has been hopeful for ALL Americans since day one. I am so sorry for all the families who will have to suffer because of this. The GOP have now showed everyone all of the world what they are made of and that is absolutely nothing! Hate and ignorance = GOP!
What is there to cheer about? They are finished in 2014. This should be a lesson to those who sit at home and only vote every four years.
The KKKoch bros. will not stop until they run out of money or die.
Even now, they are probably cloning themselves to make sure their evil deeds continue. They still have more damage to do before they rot in hell and take all of these coward soulless bastards with them.

Tomorrow we have Obamacare and I am very proud of our President for standing up for affordable health care for everyone. I expect them in every way to sabotage and discredit that as well. But the law is the law…..
Still Standing. We got work to do!

      You were NOT wrong.

There were 175 TBGOPers who chickened out and allowed John Boehner to continue coddling the Crazies in his House Caucus.

The votes were there for a Clean CR!

wow. what a night. this is not good. but the one good thing I can think of is that 2014 is coming and I’m hoping it will bring angry dem’s to the voting booth and others who are angry at the way these fascist right wingers have taken the country hostage. and for what. for nothing. because they are having a big snit.

what a bunch of assholes. I gotta go to bed. nite guys
