😛 JO’B, I notice that you have become so exasperated with the pundits that you aren’t hesitating to dot your i’s and cross your t’s! I shudder for some of them when you lay it on (ex; that Harwood guy). 😀

          September 23, 2013 at 9:14 pm

Ha! I think it’s having more of an impact on me (happiness, joy) than on the Harwoods of the world, who could care less, but, yeah, okay! 🙂

            September 23, 2013 at 9:20 pm

I hear you, J. I do get a sense of relish from you when I read each one. Like, ‘Here’s what *I* really think of *you* and I couldn’t care less if you’re offended.’ I say a mental ‘ouch’ at first, then grin when I remember how they treat the president.

            • 9 jacquelineoboomer
              September 23, 2013 at 9:26 pm

Sorry about the “ouch” part. The only way I can push back in support of our President is through my words, so I’m trying to give it my best shot! I try to just select the people so entrenched in their own hatred and/or ineptness that they are unreachable from a more reasonable perspective. We can’t let them hurt President Obama, so I’m willing to take a virtual body punch for him, if need be!

                September 23, 2013 at 9:37 pm

JO’B hon, no apologies are necessary! Truly. I like the way you ‘use your words’. The ‘ouch’ only pops up when I feel the ‘slice’. 😉 When these jokers are trying to step all over our president, no one in media seems capable of calling them out for overstepping. I have come to have less than zero respect for most of them, and as long as you’re not swearing, I’m on board. 😀

JOB, your response to that dumb incoherent tweet by John Harwood was spot-on. I Left you a comment on my take on people like him who are consumed by ODS on the previous thread. You’ve really been on fire, making us proud, with your brilliant and fearless tweets to these media propagandists pretending to be journalists!

Indeed, Nena! 2014 must be our #1 priority. We must reject the MSM efforts to try distract us with talk about 2016 presidential election and their obsession about Hillary Clinton. President Obama is still president. He still needs a sane Congress to work with to implement his agenda before the end of his term on Jan 20, 2017. That’s more than 3 years away.

        September 23, 2013 at 10:53 pm

Brilliant tweets, Zizi! These so called journalists who are always eager to bash President Obama before all the facts are in must be held accountable for their sensationalism and spreading untruths.

By the way, Zizi, how is your mentor’s son? I am praying that he will pull through so that your family and the professor’s family won’t have to go through the double pain of losing two precious people. To be honest, I am still devastated by the senseless loss of one of Africa’s master teachers. But as I said, in my comment when I heard the news, I still rejoice for his life because he was able to mentor and groom future brilliant teachers like you.

        • September 23, 2013 at 11:10 pm

thanks for caring. He’s recovering. Injuries not life-threatening. Other sons have gone to Kenya to bring back the Prof’s body and comfort their brother. Hubby is holding up and co-ordinating with Prof’s family

I am so glad to hear the glimmer of good news about his son! I’ve been in situations where I lost a brother and a nephew two days apart and the pain was so devastating. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  6. September 23, 2013 at 9:20 pm

GE Chips, TOD…… wonderful, informative, fact-filled post…… I am patiently waiting for Oct. 1, to see the pricing that will be available in IN. I have the nut job Mike Pence as our Gov……… he is running for president, so of course he is kicking public employees out of everything….busting unions…. and not expanding any ACA exchanges 😦

  7. September 23, 2013 at 9:20 pm

Took a quick look at some MSM supporters of the odious Greenwald, and apparently their support has not wavered.

Now Greenwald is in the unenviable, awkward position of coming to the defense of a” convincted child porn user (the FBI agent who leaked the Govt’s secret Yemen plans to AP last year.

The ENTIRE MSM was up in arms over that govt “infraction” during early summer:

Of course, GG omits the child porn part of the “govt jailing leakers.” Jackass and more. Karma lies in wait for GG.

Me and you, Nena. Now I’ve found I can no longer just quietly follow a handful of people I love without having an account. I am very conflicted. Does Twitter not rest until every living human being has an account? Just not sure…

I hesitated joining – until the attacks on PBO seemed to be ever-increasing during the campaign and I decided I had to join and do my little part.

Yep! ‘Sole reason I joined Twitter is PBO’.

And from our only Cuban-American-Jewish rep (Miami-Hialeah area) — please correct me if I’m wrong about her unique status: https://twitter.com/Ali_Gharib/status/382132922607611904

  15. September 23, 2013 at 9:39 pm

Interactive and informative map showing the grass roots domination OFA, and Obama aligned groups demonstrated… that we must replicate in 2014

Obama’s clean sweep of the top 10 included a number of swing states: Wisconsin (2nd with 72.1 percent turnout), Colorado (3rd, 70.3 percent), New Hampshire (4th, 70.1 percent), Iowa (5th, 69.9 percent), Virginia (7th, 66.4 percent), Michigan (10th, 64.7 percent) and Ohio (11th [tied], 64.6 percent.
President Obama’s voter identification and mobilization advantage over Romney has been well documented at this point. But rarely have we seen its importance expressed in such compelling terms.

We are so close to the roll out of Obamacare, it’s getting exciting. Has everyone noticed the incredible flurry of tweets and articles shedding a positive light on it, and getting the facts out? Even though I see most of the flurry from my perch on TOD, thanks to Chips and all of you, seems as though the positive nature of the information is spreading a hundredfold, from all corners. Methinks if DeBlasio were already NYC’s new mayor, there might be a ticker tape parade to celebrate! This is definitely a BFD for our country!

    • September 23, 2013 at 9:58 pm

I’m really excited about this rollout. Sec. Sebelius says she’s ready and OFA has organized a great campaign. I’ll be tweeting my heart out about it. I can’t wait for the public to experience the benefits. OBAMACARE, baby!!

    • September 23, 2013 at 10:03 pm

Yes, it is a BFD. It will take time for the benefits to sink it and some people will take a while to figure out how to enroll, no matter how many times you tell them. That’s human nature and the implementation of a program this massive will have many, many glitches, but we are moving forward and nothing will stop us now. Personally, I can’t wait for Oct. 1 to come. My son has been uninsured since he was laid off from his job last spring and his new job provides NO health insurance. When he is safely enrolled and the coverage goes into effect, I will breathe a sigh of relief.

come October 1st, I wonder what will happen to those people who have invested so much in opposing the implementation of ObamaCare

    • September 23, 2013 at 10:16 pm

Nothing, Media will allow them to continue their crazy destruction of the law, and just as they are doing to SS & Medicare they’ll continue trying to sabotage it especially at state level. They will never rest, even as they enjoy benefits themselves. It’ll become like Roe v. Wade that riles them even after 40 years. We’re in for a permanent fight to keep our social safety net and rights.

    • 78 theo67
      September 23, 2013 at 10:23 pm

Every hiccup that happens in the roll-out of the law will be magnified * 100, as “evidence” that the law is failing. It’ll be up to all of us to keep up the positive pressure.

In VA, perhaps…..Terry McAuliffe is finally getting some Virginian Love?

Democrat Terry McAuliffe has vaulted into the lead over Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II in a Virginia governor’s race that has left many voters sour on both candidates, according to a new Washington Post/Abt SRBI poll.

McAuliffe leads 47 percent to 39 percent among likely voters, with Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis’s 10 percent suggesting an unrest among voters not satisfied with either major-party contender. In a one-on-one matchup without Sarvis in the mix, the poll shows a narrower, 49-to-44 percent race between McAuliffe and Cuccinelli among likely voters — but still flips Cuccinelli’s 10-point lead from this spring.

If PBO’s father was not from Kenya, would the US media be covering these attacks in Nairobi, Kenya? I doubt it.

The Constant attacks in Northern Nigeria is hardly mention in US media…..BBC and Al Jazeera, yes. The attacks in Mali hardly made news here until the French got involved.

Now some wicked fools are using this horrific attack to scare people in US and gin up Mall attacks in US. I heard one mention the MN Mall of America. There are Somalis and Ethiopians in MN.

        September 24, 2013 at 12:39 am

JOB, it’s plainly clear that tabloid journalism has completely taken over the U.S. media! I really don’t envy President Obama! Put yourself in President Obama’s shoes. How in the world can you effectively govern a diverse country like the United States when you have to deal with an insane opposition party and an equally insane media; both of which hate you so much and are determined to do what ever it takes to destroy you? One of the reasons I admire President Obama so much is his ability to remain sane and focused despite the fact that all his enemies have left no stone unturned in their relentless struggle to try to destroy him.

Last night, I heard them “reporting” that some of the attackers might be American, that malls in America might be attacked – then they announced that there were no facts to suggest any of these things, though. It was despicable.

      • 99 jacquelineoboomer
        September 23, 2013 at 11:08 pm

Yes, we’re all DOOMED, and therefore we must (1) give up shopping at malls, and (2) give up Obamacare. More details to follow.

  31. 102 globalcitizenlinda
    September 23, 2013 at 10:46 pm

Am I over-thinking it or does PBO’s UN schedule appear to have more gaps than usual (during the annual UN meeting).

If my impression of “gaps” is correct then the suspicion is that PBO and the rest of Team Obama have left a chunk of time for off-the-record meetings.

Ps: Anyone remember that UN meeting when PBO & FLOTUS hosted and posed for photos with so many world leaders?
the video was interesting to watch and I felt so sorry for their hands when all handshakes were completed?

    • 103 jacquelineoboomer
      September 23, 2013 at 10:51 pm

I remember, I believe, when they were hosting world leaders and their spouses, who’d all arrive individually by car for the evening event and be greeted by PBO and FLOTUS?

    • September 23, 2013 at 10:54 pm

Yes, Linda, I remember that to which you refer and I also think you are correct that this particular moment in world history requires our President to have as much private time as possible to interact with various folk!!!!

      • 105 carolyn
        September 23, 2013 at 11:19 pm

Bob…..wouldn’t your plan and strategy for liability insurance for gun sellers and gun owners be a boon to the insurance business? Could they be a target for your ideas, then get their lobbyists busy to push this through?

I believe the important word in the above from Bob is “private”……no interference from the supposed 4th estate to mess things up…..like that surprise meeting with Putin that surprised the media.

    • September 23, 2013 at 11:22 pm

I think you got UNGA mixed up with a different meeting that PBO & FLOTUS hosted. THE UNGA is not an America-hosted event, but UN’s. That’s why PBO is being invited as a guest of Ban Ki Moon’s luncheon tomorrow.

Last year PBO did not schedule any meeting with any leaders just so he’d not fall into any traps with Bibi or anybody in the run-up to the elections.
