    Good morning, Jovie.
Are you saying the party has been moved to Mercury?
Is that what happened? They were too loud here on earth…..I knew it would be a blast.

    Good morning, Ms. Chips.
Ms. Dudette will probably sleep late this morning…shshshsh

Good morning. Does anyone have a link to the list of House Republicans who voted for the food stamps cut? I want to write a scathing letter to my idiot congressman, but I want to make absolutely certain he wasn’t one of the few who voted with the Dems.

Chicago had its very own mass shooting last night——warm night, nice night for shootin’. 13 people shot at a basketball court at 10:15 last night, including a 3yr. old who was shot in the head. 23 shot in all last night in Chgo, 2 fatalities, so far. Insane insanity. #1 crisis in the country. It’s out of control.

This West Wing Week was smile worthy; especially the end.

I welcome it but he’s got to put something concrete on the table and to do that he has to convince the real powerbrokers to go along with what he’s trying to do.

This article/essay seems to imply that U.S. foreign policy should be all-about-Israel, a very hawkish Israel, at that. How condescending! The U.S. is no puppet-nation!! And our president is no marionette! I don’t trust Netanyahu an inch. Israel needs to coordinate and compromise with other middle-eastern nations. Yes, they are often endangered – and do need a strong defense. But I feel in their adamant demand to “Never Forget,” they often do to others what was once done to them.

    • September 20, 2013 at 9:15 am

Good, Jovie. I’m tired of Netanyahu’s over the top act. If he acted like a statesman rather than a belligerent toddler, we might make some real progress.

Surely this is a repeat, but I had to come back and share this!

Yay Kid President! Yay Teachers! Yay Students!

It’s time to BE MORE AWESOME!

What makes this worse than what happened in the 90’s is that back then, all but 3 Appropriation Bills had already passed.

This time none of them have. I think there are 13 .

I don’t trust this maneuver. It validates the GOP hostage taking through procedural gimmicks. It will be on record that all Democrats voted for Obamacare in 2010, then voted to defund it in 2013. Can you imagine the ads that will hit come reelection time?

        September 20, 2013 at 9:23 am

No that’s wrong. They only need 40 votes to filibuster . Every dem can vote against that. Then it only needs 51 to rid the defunding measures.

      • September 20, 2013 at 9:38 am

I worry about them coming back later and getting it done. Our Congress people don’t have a good record when it comes to getting anything done…even the stuff that you would think would be a given.

Good morning. That was some party last night for Dudette. Do you people never sleep?
I especially loved the 2 clips of PBO dancing. Signed sealed delivered. he’s ours. yes, indeedy he is.

Eleven more days—11 more days—-until ACA signup begins.

NYTimes this morning has a pleasant tone towards the President. Even they are finding it difficult to demean the President’s FP. We are not at war with Syria and it is looking very good for an American-Iranian experience at the UN.

Gloom and doom pundits—-wait, are there any other kind?—-are predicting that the cost of keeping the government open will be the locking in of the sequester. I sure hope this isn’t true. If it is 400 of my oldest, poorest, most disabled neighbors face the awful prospect of losing their homes. We’ve already received preliminary notices. None of us are sleeping too well these days.

In other news…I posted this yesterday, but here’s Bob Cesca’s take on these Koch liars… this needs some BIG pushback!

    Good Morning TOD!

After that ridiculous “It’s OK for people to go hungry” vote of the SNAP program yesterday please spread the word that we MUST give PBO a Congress that will work for the people in 2014.

The Republican-controlled House will vote Friday on a short-term budget that would defund Obamacare — a law that Americans oppose by a double-digit margin (52-42), according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Happy, happy, joy, joy, all you O’s!!! It’s a great getting up day in TOD town!!!!

I missed Dudette’s birthday party last night, but I can tell from the empty bottles, cake crumbs, overturned chairs, and broken chandeliers, that a good time was had by all.

What a good time the ‘Pubs are having eating each other’s lunch. I’m having an even better time watching the family feud.
