1) re Annie Lowrey counting the number of women…
Annie is one of the privileged white sorority girls of the northeast who think they understand what feminism is without actually having lived or known someone who has had another kind of life (think: Loretta Lynn as a contrast).
Dotster thinks I hold a grudge against the northeast, but I really don’t.
It’s just that the media POV gets framed by the northeast elite, without consideration of the rest of the country.
So the northeast sorority girls gets to define what “feminism” is all about (the President’s golf partners!) without considering what feminism might mean to the general public.
2) MSM mindreading
The “certain” nominations of Susan Rice and Larry Summers were a fabrication of the MSM’s overactive imagination, and they spun these into “facts” and will never admit that they did so.
Probably so that they can substitute speculation for actual reporting, and can continue to 100% wrong with their speculations and suffer exactly zero consequences.

If John Kerry had never done another thing in his life, his place in history would be secure for introducing Barack Obama to the world in 2004.
However, his record is long and productive. Frankly, I believe that John Kerry is who PBO wanted for his SOS all along, but being a political realist and a long range thinker, knew he needed Kerry as chair of the Foreign Rel committee, and knew that Hillary could be a thorn in the Senate. I believe he talked with Kerry before his announcement of Hillary as SOS, and both of them agreed this was best. Kerry got the START treaty through, no one else could have, and PBO used him otherwise the first four years.
All the todo about Susan Rice was another press/enemy generated fuss, so to quiet it down, she wrote the “taking herself out of the running” letter. and Summers has. Ezra Klein, just go away!

Carolyn, your take makes a great deal of sense. I think the President, after he selected Joe Biden to be VP, and given Sen. Teddy Kennedy declining health, he really needed John Kerry in the Senate during his first term. He was one of the Senators that he trusted implicitly. Selecting Hillary Clinton to serve as the SoS was a stroke of political genius that accomplished two objectives: First, it demonstrated his maturity and self-confidence by showing the country that he is not afraid to work with his main political rival in order to advance the country’s interests. Second, now that Hillary would be on his team, her powerful supporters were, to a certain extent, neutralized and prevented from causing any mischief to undermine his presidency.
I strongly believe, although I have no concrete evidence to support my belief, that selecting Hillary Clinton, to serve as SoS, was a shrewd political move to ensure that President Obama would not be effectively challenged within the Democratic Party for re-election. Had Hillary Clinton remained in the Senate, the die-hard, but powerful, Clinton loyalists, joined by her husband and the emoprogs, would have rallied behind her and convinced her to challenge President Obama in 2012. If she did, she would have lost. But the split in the Democratic party would have been profound making it possible for President Obama to lose re-election. If Hillary Clinton had challenged President Obama in the primaries, the 2012 election would have turned out to be remarkably similar to the 1980 election.
This is why I think that selecting Hillary Clinton to serve as SoS in his first term demonstrated President Obama’s brilliant political skills.

Top White House aide hospitalized twice last week
Dan Pfeiffer, a top strategist for President Obama, visited a hospital twice last week with what officials describe as stroke-like symptoms, the White House confirmed to Post Politics.
Pfeiffer, 37, has since returned to work and is being monitored.
“We are happy and relieved to have Dan back at work full time,” White House spokeswoman Amy Brundage said. “He’s feeling better, listening to his doctors, and focused on helping implement the president’s very full domestic and foreign policy agenda.”
Pfeiffer began feeling ill Sept. 4 and stayed at a hospital overnight. After returning to work, he became ill again and returned for two days, Brundage said. He left the hospital on Saturday and began work soon after.
Doctors say Pfeiffer is suffering from what appears to be hypertension.

Pretty probable the doctors gave him some medication. Hypertension at 37 is not normal, even if he has a stressful job.

OT Does anyone know anything about HR15 (2013) it is supposed to be a bill to change the 21st Amendment to the Constitution allowing the President more than 2 terms? Have you heard about this yet and do you know who is sponsoring it or how I can find it?

Just in case somebody else decides to circulate misinformation, there are already 27 Amendments to the U.S. Constitution. The next Amendment, if one is enacted by 2/3rds of Congress (or proposed by 2/3rds of of state conventions) and ratified by 3/4th of the State legislatures, will be he 28th Amendment.
Roberta, This must be a joke! The 21st Amendment (1933) repealed the 18th Amendment (1919), which was a prohibition against “the manufacture, importation, sell, and transportation of intoxicating liquors….” The Amendment that limited the presidency to two terms, in reaction to FDR’s four terms, was the 22nd Amendment, ratified in 1951. It’s really sad how much misinformation and disinformation is spread through social media.

His margin of victory, in 2012, was much lower than all his previous runs, despite the fact that he face a poorly funded Democratic opponent. I am sending an e-mail to the DNC and the DCCC urging them to field and finance a strong candidate to take on Issa. Issa is the one driving this Benghazi nonsense after he failed miserably with his IRS scandal.
