“U.S. lawmakers were also shown transcripts of the communications intercepts of Syrian officials discussing the attack both before and afterward — including a conversation where one Syrian commander told the military’s chemical weapons unit to cease firing, because they’d done enough damage, according to a congressional official.

The intelligence official said the U.S. is not going to release those transcripts, in part because foreign intelligence agencies provided some of the material.”

    In further news…

Don’t you just love when Christie shows how much he cares about the people of NJ? Gosh, he could hardly take time to sleep 🙄 (middle portion of video) It’s amazing to me that there are very few GOP contenders that ever come across as sincere when they are in front on the camera. In fact I can’t think of ONE at the moment, so how do they convince so many people to vote for them?

I can *never* tease VC again, I was busy talking to myself in the last thread before spotting there was a shiny new one.

    Thank yooooooooou LP!!!

Oh crikey, you’re waddling and crumping? That does not sound good. Will you have a chance to de-waddle and de-crump over the weekend?

My life has become a never-ending weekend, Chipsticks. I’m being told to consider a new meaning for ‘normal’. For a high achiever such as me, the world looks like a very different place. An abrupt lesson on how 10 seconds can change a Life! I’m okay, just making my way along.

            • September 13, 2013 at 9:52 pm

Oh, not really crazy-crazy, just so different from any lifestyle I’ve ever had to manage! “Slow” was never a gear I had to use, and now it’s becoming the standard, as if the gearbox has only one speed left, and it creaks along, but hey, at least I’m moving! Might go and pour that wine now… 🙂 I’m here! Thank you, dear, big hug!

Bless you, {{{{HZ}}}}, thank you for joining me and for your unflagging support. You are often in my mind as I learn new ways of managing even the simple task of life we take so for granted. There must be some Higher Purpose to fall this, which I do not see clearly yet. In time, I trust I will understand. Meanwhile, I am at peace with the process. It’s just very different to all I have known before! With Greece joining the Sept 6th statement on Syria, President Obama now has 2 more Nations (total 36, currently) than #GHWBush did for support of liberating Kuwait from the Iraqis.

Oh my god…the comments on that thing are NASTY — wishing for his death??? Seriously, are “people” that consumed with hatred for the Obama administration they’d wish death on someone? Another poster said that liberals were wishing the same for Dick when he had his heart transplant, actually, the comments I saw were very considerate (considering it was Dick).

And, the sad thing that I’m seeing, lovelyplains, is that some so-called liberals are still saying that this doesn’t “prove” that the Syrian government gassed its’ own citizens. I think some of them don’t want to face the fact that President Obama was right and they and their fanboy, Putin, were wrong. Assad did the deed and nothing they can say can change this fact. I’m sick of them. They have no intention of being helpful in any constructive way. Their goal is to sow discord and draw attention to themselves. Oops! I left out their plan to use this situation as a fundraising opportunity.

        September 13, 2013 at 11:23 pm

If they accepted the facts there would be nothing to complain about. And there in lies the problem. They always have to have some issue, conspiracy, complaint, demand, criticism, etc about President Obama (the most progressive president we have seen) IN THE HOPPER. If they ever ran out of things to complain about they would be lost.

  9. September 13, 2013 at 9:35 pm

    Thanks, LP, for new thread.

Posted this for ya at the end of previous thread.

The income inequality is the most worrisome trend in America. GOP laugh when liberals claim we’re becoming a banana republic-like state, but income inequality is one of the biggest barriers to a free democratic society.

This is the legacy the failed Reagan “trickle-down economics” has bequeathed this generation of youth. Those who were born privileged (like our blindingly pale MSM) don’t see it, but this is what they should be reporting on, instead of personalities, and “how can we make Obama look bad?”

This is the most horrifying graph I have seen in years – and years. We had it, we cared & then we let the wealthy steal it – all of it – and still the fools complain about people needing assistance. In the 1960s those top 20% were true entrepreneurs – today the top 1% – few “earned” their money via their ideas or their labor. Thatcher & Reagan stole from the poor and started the horror we see today.

Also from the last thread; Jovie’s state is gonna be a battleground for ACA, much as it (always) seems to be during Presidential elections.

You know I have never seen such foolishness as for the right wing haters to be upset with Mrs. Michelle Obama because she is talking about people drinking more water. I know what it is all about. I know it has nothing to do with her talking about drinking water, it’s all about these right wing conservatives racism. When Laura Bush talk about reading there was no need of me attacking her, saying that she ain’t going to tell me what to do. It was a worth while project, but you see I didn’t hate Laura Bush. One guy made some comment that the First Lady, Malia, and Sasha were overweight. After telling him he was a bold face liar, I asked him if he and his children were overweight, I didn’t get an answer. These right wing conservatives are racists bastards.

        • September 13, 2013 at 11:21 pm

I’ve never seen such hideously petty, demeaning and in many cases sociopathic behavior in my life. It’s constant and it’s crazy. Thank God POTUS and FLOTUS are so grounded and have raised their girls to be smart and strong. I can’t bear it and it isn’t even being directed at me personally.

Many of the “posters” on these sites are absolutely horrible people — if they are even human. They have GOT to be paid by the Koch suckers or whomever to toss out nasty comments in order to get people riled up/frustrated/what have you. They aren’t even coherent or funny anymore, it’s just downright nastiness and disgusting.

You know, Meta, when it comes to the Obamas truth doesn’t matter to those who hate them. It’s as if they’ve all internalized Karl Rove’s playbook of dirty tactics of constantly bashing your opponent’s strength with the intent of brainwashing people to start viewing those strengths as weaknesses.

And it really makes them angry Aniebella when the Obamas ignore them, keep their heads high and keep on smiling. They can’t stand it. Siesta Sarah is sooooo jealous of FLOTUS. It makes her crazy.

COS, to be honest, before the election of President Obama, I never seriously thought about the role “ENVY” plays in motivating some people to hate. Having observed the extent to which some people have to go to in order to demonize the Obamas, usually based on manufactured lies or exaggerations, has made appreciate those Christian Theologians who identified “ENVY” as one of the seven most deadly sins.

Sweet jeebus, I’m limping into the weekend. I’m too pooped to pop.

I am entrusting the missus with something sacred: cooking my signature dish of Cuban picadillo. Again, I was too pooped to cook, so I walked her through the basic steps. I will let you all know how it turned out.
