hi
Hi, Layla…….from Lala. 🙂
BTW, that story I shared at the end of last thread about our Speaker Ron Ramsey–He “calls” himself a follower of Christ. He has spoken at our church. His sister is an active and long-time member of our church. Hypocrite, just like all the rest of them!
Hi there Lala!!!!! Remember God is watching!!!! Karma will be a massive bitch!!!!
Congratulations, Layla.
Ty vl! Glad to see you!
You too!
/waving/ Hi Layla.
I so love, respect and admire President Obama. While everyone is running around with their hair on fire and full of indignation over who said what, POTUS is going along about the business of the United States of America.
Me?, I’m chillin because I KNOW he’s GOT THIS.
He will tell us who did what when – when he’s ready and not a moment before.
Same here…I feel very calm with PBO at the helm!
GGail and Layla, that is always how I feel about President Obama as well. I pray for wisdom, compassion, calmness, and a complete participation in how he carry out his duties to the nation as our president. POB will be fine; it is the acts of the foolish people who oppose him at every side who will pay dearly in the future days, months, years for all of the hateful acts, words, and deeds to try to trip this president up. It will Not happen.
There are so many people of faiths praying daily for POB and his administration. President Obama has a deep faith, and he leans on it privately and with assurance that it will help him get through all of the crap that is thrown at him daily. We can continue to keep him, his administration,, and First Family in our prayers/meditations.
TOD family, you all are the best, and I want to again thank our beautiful and wonderful Chips for providing this beautiful haven for all of us. There is so much talent, patience, love, and most of all respect within our family, and our POTUS and FLOTUS do appreciate all of us.
(((((((((((((((((((((( Everyone, have a lovely evening, and do not forget your water.))))))))))))))))))))))))) I love water and always drink lots with the guidance of my cardiologist. Love you all so dearly. Thanks for being here for me as well.HZ
reminder—-Bill deBlasio on with Rev Al and then on NY1 with Errol Louis.
Lots of New yorkers from the Quinn and Thompson campaigns have been joining with deB all day.
Also Jon stewart—not a favorite of mine—had a fabulous bit on the deBlasio family. TPM has the clip.
Just as America needed (and still needs) PBO, I feel that NYC needs deBlasio.
I concur, hopefruit2. A new time for the people, indeed.HZ
congrats on 1st layla!
Hey someone we know just tweeted this! 😀
ok chore time! #LATER
alice, Drink Up. That’s nice.
“Drink Up”
Things seem to be moving really fast. Hmmmmm.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera America sent me an email pimping a story which claimed PBO “fumbled” Syria. Pretty soon I won’t be able to watch any media.
In ‘fairness’ though, LL, they must all be fumbling to keep up. It almost seems that if you blink you’ll miss something. It is to be hoped that this fast action will keep up so that there might be some relief in sight for Syrians.
That’s not the impression I get from their coverage, but I admit I’m only able to tune in here and there.
See, LL, @ajam finally catches up. 😀
OMG, there are some WIMMINS at that table.
Ha. I’m such a “low-information Obamabot,” or the other name I was called on Twitter, “useful idiot” (RWNJs have no original thoughts), that I counted ’em when I saw the photo.
Okay, where are the TOD POTUS wardrobe people? I haven’t noticed any mentioning PBO’s tie …yet; you guys have quit your jobs?
I noticed it vc! Very earthy…
Hey VC.
So, what about the tie? Is it a good tie or a bad tie?
I’m clueless here. I hadn’t noticed till you said something, then I went back up – it looks ok to me. 🙂
Come on GGail, what would *I* know about a good tie or a bad tie? It just caught my eye and normally nothing about their wardrobe catches my eye until someone remarks on it, then I go back and look. It looked ‘different’, I guess. 😉
I thought perhaps you had slipped back into our LA Fashion District and took a couple of classes 😆
Fashion challenged as I am they wouldn’t even let me in.
I know! that was a joke 😆
Ouch! 😥 😥
teasing with love vc
Sniff! /nose in the air/ /tears running up instead of down/
I used to work 3 blocks away from FIDM. Loved to hang out at their park.
I still love the area. You get this sense of excitement & bustle …during the daytime that is
And Casey’s on Grand was our watering hole.
Our version of “Cheers”
Yep!! We should have a TOD gathering there soon!
That sounds like a Winner LL!!! Seriously!
I’m being very serious! I haven’t been there in years. Although I do wonder how crowded they get during football season. We’ll have to find out.
Wow! FIDM has a park? I graduated from there eons ago and there was only a single building near a mall in downtown L.A.
It’s expanded quite a bit. A nice little jewel in Downtown
It’s my fave Obama tie——“snappy” as they used to say—–black with white polka dots of some sort. I like deep colored ties, much more than the light blue, which I decided he wears on certain occasions in certain company for certain reasons. And I like black clothing items of any kind. Smart. Period. End of story. (like I’m some kind of tie expert)
‘like I’m some kind of tie expert’
😆 😆 Sure you are, Dotster! You know what you like.
That is one of my favorites. I was going to mention it, and there it was. Great minds we have in our family.HZ
Bill de Blasio’s son (and his righteous ‘fro) remind me of one of my patrons, one of the most intelligent young men with whom I’ve come into contact.
Such devastation! These poor people
Holy bleeeeeeep!
Oh!!! that is a massive fire. Right next to the Atlantic Ocean.
The wind caused it to spread and they couldn’t get it under control, apparently.
Awful. I’m originally from NJ, and we all spent a lot of summers in Seaside – and some folks I know still are!
One of my father’s brothers migrated to Jersey and we spent many summers on the Jersey Shore. Childhood memories…
My summers, my son’s summers, my grandkids’ summers. Many memories in my family, as well.
Jesus, that looks like one of our wildfires out here.
I hope everyone is safe.
When wood-frame units are packed so tightly together, it’s pretty much impossible to stop the fire from spreading like this one has.
A fresh start for all the businesses involved.
Again, hoping that all living creatures were able to successfully escape this awful inferno.
I am glad our Beloved President surrounds himself with intelligent, hard-working, positive, loyal and optimistic people. On an aside–Rev Al is going in on Jesse Helms who looks like Porky Pig with glasses.
Jesse Helms? He’s still alive?
No. Ted Cruz waxed nostalgic about how it would be so great if there were 100 Jesse Helms in the Senate. The Senate would be a very racist chamber indeed.
Ted Cruz is a dam idiot.
We don’t need one Ted Cruz, nor one Jesse Helms.
Jesse Helms always reminded me of an Afrikaner politician with his fear and demonizing of black people.
Like the villian in Lethal Weapon 2.
The best of the Lethal Weapon series. Number 4 was unwatchable: there is no way on earth that Jet Li loses a fight to Danny Glover and Mel Gibson. Reminds me of the story of Bruce Lee when he was on “The Green Hornet”. There was a crossover episode between it and “Batman”, and in the script it called for Cato to lose to Robin in a fight. If I recall the story correctly, Bruce wanted to do some damage to young Robin, aka Burt Ward.
Died Dec 2012 I think
2008 and not a day too soon……but I think he must have spread his seed all over NC and cloned himself cause our legislature is his twin.
Oooops! You are correct!
well ya know we are a bbq(barbeque) state, don’t ya?
well that made no sense….supposed to have been under VL porky pig comment…hee hee hee
Tee hee! Lol!
Wow! Hopefruit! Di Blasio is going to be on Reverend Al’s show in a minute.
I turned Rev Al but didn’t see it 😦 Was he on , or is he yet to come?
coming up Stay tuned!!!
Bill is “in studio” with The Rev.
Yes, yes, I realize that the Good Rev just wants us to watch as much of the show as possible, so he’s baiting us with anticipation!!! 🙂 🙂
There he is!!!!
Yup, I’m watching – thanks for the heads up vitamin 🙂
Good interview. What did you guys think?
I enjoyed every minute of it, and look forward to November. If I were living in NYC, I would volunteer on his campaign. I think he has the city’s best interests, not just those of the Upper East Side or Park Slope residents.
Oh good, hf2. I am happy to hear what not-NY folks think of our candidate.
Bill deB has been working on the ground with our communities for a long time. As I’ve mentioned before Bill came to a rally we had in our neighborhood to protest the closing of our firehouse.
I treasure the article and picture which shows Bill, Steve Buscemi (Nucky Thompson in “Boardwalk Empire”) and me, right next to Steve. If I knew how to do it I’d send the article here. I can send things by e-mail, though, if I’ve ever had Chips address, I’ve lost it.
Actually I don’t really qualify as a non-Nyer….I’ve actually lived in NYC for much of my adult life thus far, have voted for Hillary, Spitzer, Eliot Engel, Schumer, etc..
I liked what I saw, heard, and feel about Mr. Bill de Blasio. I really think that he has a very good handle on what he would like to do as the new mayor. I hope the very best for him in Nov. Great feeling. HZ
I agree HZ! 🙂
Holy shit!!! Run people, run!
Let’s see if MSM will continue to hide from the George Zimmerman story.
Yesterday, it seemed that only AJAM was reporting on the Medical Examiner being fired after complaining about Sanford Police incompetance.
Since the source of this story is “left-wing George Soros publication,” MSM will no doubt be as derogatory as possible about the report, if they mention it all.
MSM only like to stir the pot (i.e., Race in America!) but don’t like to scratch beneath the surface.
NBC in Philly is now saying 80% of the boardwalk in Seaside Park is destroyed by the fire. Wow.
Yes, I saw this on Twitter. That’s so sad. Wasn’t this the same boardwalk damaged by Sandy and then repaired? No?
Yes. They had to cut through the brand new boardwalk to dig trenches, earlier, to try to stop the fire. Didn’t work, apparently.

just a black screen for me….
Man. I don’t know Seaside that well, since it’s closer to Philly than NYC. Is its boardwalk big?
(I’m guessing you’d have gone more to Atlantic City, than Seaside, from NYC?)
This is from wiki, updated with today’s catastrophe:
Casino Pier and Funtown Pier (partially located within both Seaside Heights and neighboring Seaside Park) are amusement parks, each situated on a pier extending approximately 300 feet (100 m) into the Atlantic Ocean. Each of the two piers are part of a boardwalk that stretches for 2 miles (3.2 km) and offers many family-friendly attractions ranging from arcades, to games of chance, to beaches, to the wide variety of foods and desserts, all within walking distance. Breakwater Beach (formerly known as Water Works) is a water park situated across the street from Casino Pier.
Destruction from Hurricane Sandy
Both piers suffered major damage on October 29, 2012, during Hurricane Sandy. Sections of both piers were torn apart by powerful storm surges and waves causing many of the rides to collapse into the ocean. Casino Pier began cleanup attempts soon after, in an attempt to reopen in time for the summer 2013 season.
On September 12, 2013 a 5 alarm fire broke out in the Kohrs ice cream shop on the south end of the boardwalk. The fire started spreading north and also caused the rest of Funtown Pier to catch fire. Smoke can be seen and smelt as far north as Point Pleasant.
Yeah, Atlantic City was more where we’d visit.
I was “in love with” a guy named Al from NYC during one whole summer visiting my aunt and uncle’s house near Seaside, the summer between 7th and 8th grade. I was too shy to speak to him, but, hey, I’m loyal like a puppy and still remember how cute he was! #HisLoss
I can’t wait for the 2016 GOP ticket: Putin/Assad.
Republican 2016 ticket, I believe it. Racism and hate is so dam ugly and the Republicans are fill with it.
GOP Putin/Assad 2016
@zizii2 retweeted this (see sidebar on the righthand side of this blog):
Well now I have to tape it, don’t I? (Damned if I’ll watch the commercials.)
MSM really should ask people they interview about Syria if they believe what the majority of Republicans do (or ask who was responsible for over a thousand deaths from Hurricane Katrina):
That 15% of Democrats is troubling. Do they live under rocks?
One of my favorite patrons just came up to me and said: “Our President is a BADASS.”
Ha!

Memo to House GOP: passing debt limit increase isn’t giving Dems or Obama anything. It’s giving bond market what it is legally entitled to.

OK now the article does not appear!!!!! I give up!
Thanks.
OK found it on huffpuff…sorry abut the delay and the source!
WASHINGTON — The Senate on Thursday confirmed Victoria Nuland, President Barack Obama’s choice as chief U.S. envoy for Europe who was widely criticized for her role in the talking points created after last year’s deadly assault in Benghazi, Libya.
By voice vote and with no debate, the Senate approved the nomination of Nuland, who had served as State Department spokeswoman during Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tenure.
WOW, this should be interesting.
New post.

Please send a note to one of PBO’s very reliable supporters – mentioning the loss of a dear father.
Tweets from this account are often featured on TOD.
Great person to follow.
thanks in advance for supporting another PBO supporter.
