57andFemale, have you ever seen this ?

When Donald Rumfeld was promoting his book he was on c-span’s Q&A. During the interview, Brian Lamb pulled out this letter and confronted him. His mouth fell open.

I think that almost every person who signed it ended up in the Bush Admin.

So the reason Rumsfeld was out criticizing our President was because he was pushing a book, and he knew the right wing haters would go buy his piece of crap, if he was criticizing Barack Obama. The nerve of these dam Republicans.

We, the human collective, are evolving an inability to recognize honesty in one another. Evidence of wide spread cynicism can be seen in our public reactions to President Obama. I don’t believe it’s warranted or accidental.

The fields of Public opinion have become industrial farms for raising psychologically engineered, reality resistant, obedient herds of human collateral, who are driven left and right by sinister shepherds, hungry for excess, driven by runaway ambition and given up to dark amusement.

That’s a great example of what I mean when I say that the MSM controls who gets access to the “microphone”. The only qualification to get air time is to (1) have some kind of fame/name recognition and (2) have something negative to say about PBO. If you meet those two qualifications, the floor is yours. Our corporate masters and the ownership class are pulling out all the stops to discredit PBO. This idiotic anti-PBO media frenzy is a constant presence, but flares up (like herpes) every few weeks.

      • September 11, 2013 at 3:46 pm

I find myself nodding in agreement with every post of yours I read.

MSM like to whine that Miley or Lindsay or Paris or Justin are the only stories that Americans read, but they are so un-self-aware, they don’t realize that they’re caught up in the celeb mindset; now their focus appears to frame every political story in terms of “how can we make Obama look as bad as possible?”

Saw a tweet today (don’t remember who it was from) that said Andrea Mitchell said something to the effect that “Congress didn’t ask to vote on Syria.” So MSM defend the congresscritters who work less than a third of the year, if they can blame (whatever) on Obama.

I’m not going to say that their news is exactly my Dream Channel, but Hubby and I watch it a lot. He’s stopped keeping msnbc on as background news and AJAM is the default. He loves their in depth reports that have actual experts on climate change, etc. They don’t consider it balance to have one slightly sane person and one nut job just because Republicans are talking nutty.

I ask you – have you seen any coverage – in depth or not – on what’s happening in Japan and at Fukishima? Didn’t think so. But AJAM has been covering it.

Since the first day of reporting on the threat of strikes on Syria, they have treated it as a process, not looking to draw complete conclusions on very little information in order to tailor conclusions to the short American attention span. Today’s news is just that – incidents that happened today.

They did have a commenter on after the speech yesterday who may have a more ‘world view’ but it fell flat with me: she wants the U.S. to intervene in the civil war, all deaths are bad and the U.S. should make it right, yada yada. But the other guest was sane, informed. They had Pickering on at some point, who had his experience to offer.

AJAM may not be perfect but I’m finding it better than any other news outlet these days.

So now, as a result of threatened targeted strikes by the United States to prevent/degrade Syria’s ability to use chemical weapons again, the GOP and emoprogs are throwing bouquets at Vladimir Putin. As Syria’s staunches ally, Russia’s intransigence and UNSC vetos have been a major stumbling block from day one. This important fact is being overlooked and/or ignored by the gasbags and pundits flapping their gums on cable.

FLASHBACK: How Russia Has Blocked International Action On Syria

The Russian Federation is a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, a role that means that while 10 other countries rotate on and off the council for two year terms, Moscow always has a spot on the body. It also means that Russia has the ability to veto any substantive resolution that is before the Security Council, a power it shares with the United States, United Kingdom, China, and France. Given that under international law the Council is meant to be the sole authority for approving the use of force and its decisions are legally binding, this has given Russia a considerable stake in the Syrian crisis. And while it’s definitely used its veto power less since the end of the Cold War, the practice has seen a resurgence since 2011.

People saying PBO got “humiliated” or “played” by Putin are creating their own reality. It makes ZERO sense. I guess they hope to influence the opinion of the mentally challenged or those not paying any attention. PBO’s does not want to bomb Syria for the sake of bombing someone. He wants to remove chemical weapons from the Syrian conflict, and Putin’s offer achieves this goal without firing a shot. In addition, it is really odd to see all this Putin love. Just like the Bill Clinton love from a few weeks ago, I think it points to a perhaps unconscious yearning for a white president (in addition to the NEED they have to see PBO humiliated, preferably by a white guy).

Emos think he’s a corporate tool who hates the gay community. They want him punished no matter who or how.

          September 11, 2013 at 5:26 pm

And all of these “humilators” fail to realize that a person only becomes humiliated when that person allows fools to chip away at his/her core.
President Barack Obama will not give or allow anyone to ever do that to his core. HZ

          September 11, 2013 at 6:07 pm

I think it is a bit deeper than that. Unless I’m missing something, Putin is a corporate tool who hates the gay community, but emos love him. PBO is the most gay friendly President (in words and actions) that this country has ever had. I think they don’t like PBO for reasons they won’t say in public, and use any excuse to bash him.

O/T but we can always use positive news.

UNESCO and the Kenya Government today announce the discovery of one of the worlds largest underground water aquifers in the desert north of Turkana, an area best known for fossils, famine and poverty. The finding by Radar Technologies International (RTI) was made using space based exploration technology called WATEX system. The largest aquifer at 250 billion cubic meters of water which is equivalent in volume to Lake Turkana one of the largest lakes in the Great Rift Valley, and 25 times greater than Loch Ness. More importantly the annual recharge rate, the amount of water that can be sustainably exploited per year, is estimated to 3.4 billion cubic meters, nearly three times the water use in the New York City.

The man behind the RTI is the energetic white haired French Alain Gachet who says the worst thing he has ever seen in his life is people dying of thirst.

“This discovery will transform Turkana. In 10 years time I see no more suffering, no more dying of hunger or thirst, people will have schools, roads, farms. Life will be much better for them and famine will be a thing go the past”.

But what is with Dems? I briefly had Morning Joe on this morning, and you’d think DeeDee Myers was a GOPer with the way that she joined in attacking our President. The only one who stood up for POTUS (and did a good job, IMO) was @ Lawrence.

There are a lot of Democratic voters who supported Hillary in the primary who have moved on and continue to support the President. But you have a remnant of them who can’t move on like everyone else including Hillary herself. Many are still angry but people like DeeDee Myers need to get real because if Hillary becomes the next president the media folks will not be on her side. The beltway press are in the tank for the GOP and they will be vicious.

      • 64 ericfive
        September 11, 2013 at 5:26 pm

Dee Dee Myers is playing the MSM’s game and sold her soul to get airtime. Slamming PBO does absolutely nothing to help Hillary Clinton become President. In fact, it greatly weakens her chances because it needlessly divides democrats. Hillary will need the AA vote and the vote of all PBO supporters to win a general election, and having surrogates slinging mud at PBO and acting like scorned lovers will turn off voters she will definitely need. We need to separate show business and propaganda from actual politics. Don’t let the antics of a loud and obnoxious few create divisions that don’t really exist.

        • September 11, 2013 at 5:40 pm

Good advice,Eric. Hillary herself is not approving these kinds of criticisms and is probably appalled by them. We have to wait to see how she conducts her campaign and who her primary opponents are. One thing we can’t do is let our own resentment get in the way so that Republican slime like Cruz, Paul or Rubio or Ryan slip in. I love my country too much to wish such a dreadful fate on it.

      • 69 ericfive
        September 11, 2013 at 5:16 pm

Just a theory, but maybe that is their goal (to divide Dems and drive people away from the Democratic Party). Any loss for Dems is a gain for the GOP (remember the 2010 midterms). How many times do we have to see the MSM protect and coddle the GOP before we realize that their goal is to suppress Dem turnout/enthusiasm so the GOP can control gov’t (and tax policy). Dems and media personalities like Dee Dee Myers get airtime when they agree to do the MSM/GOP’s bidding. Those who support PBO get frozen out because they contradict the narrative the MSM is trying to push. Becoming an Independent and/or not voting for Dems will result in more Republicans in elected office. That is what they want. Don’t fall prey to the propaganda. Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.

John Boehner, Speaker In Name Only

    By Steve Benen

Boehner is ostensibly the most powerful Republican lawmaker in the nation, and holds the gavel of the Speaker of the House, but in practice, Boehner has limited influence over what can and cannot pass the House, and he has no real control over his own caucus. Looking ahead, why should the White House even try to negotiate with a leader who can’t lead?

    I must share….

Several years ago when my twin sons were serving multiple deployments in Iraq the company I work for was extremely supportive. They did care package drives every few months. They let me take whatever time off I needed and some even formed a prayer circle all in support of my sons service. I, being completely against the war had to walk a fine line because some of them were very rah-rah about “fighting them over there so we didn’t have to fight them over here.” Sigh!! 🙄

A few years later one of the ladies that was in total support of Bush’s War and a staunch evangelical republican said something to me about me being proud of my sons fighting in Iraq and I could no longer take it so I politely told her that I was very proud of my sons service to this country but I cannot agree with or support our fighting in this senseless war. Her head snapped around and we never discussed Iraq again.

So fast forward to today and the very same women who thought it was just great that we were in Iraq under Bush now thinks that President Obama is an “‘idiot” (to quote her) for getting us into “another war”. I’m guessing that some of her “strong negative opinion” is because her son who serves in the Navy has been deployed to that region. I first took a deep breath when she made this statement to me because I had to remember that I am on the job and that she was coming at me from a mother’s perspective. Then I asked her to come into my office. I shut the door behind her and asked her to have a seat. She did and I then proceeded to remind her of her allegiance to Bush when there were absolute facts that substantiated that there were no WMD’s in Iraq and that Al Qaeda only infiltrated that country after we attacked them.

I reminded her that bullets can be fired within borders but that chemical weapons cannot be contained once released. I told her that we have facts that Assad is gassing his own people and if we let him do this without showing him that there are consequences for his actions nuts like him will just keep pushing the envelope further and further thinking that they can get away with anything. Our President is showing his muscle and if the nuts of the world don’t take heed we will not hesitate to bring them back in line. I asked her to seriously think about why she is turning a blind eye to the facts before her. I suggested that it may have something to do with the fact that this is being done by PBO (whom she doesn’t like and has never supported) vs President Bush.

She said she understood and left my office.

Part of me feels awful because I have no empathy for her because of her sons deployment to the region and I should but Karma is something….

She probably hated to hear an uncomfortable truths about herself, so of course she might be sulky, or moody around you for some time before she settles down. You also have had the experience of children being sent away to fight (and her reaction back then) so if she’s thinking you’re not empathetic, she should first examine HER reactions to you some yrs ago.

        September 11, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Concur. Donna, you have no reason to feel a lack of empathy in this case. The woman brought to the table of reason a meal that was already tainted with emotional baggage that was so heavy with unreasonable balance. Your feelings have nothing to do with your core being as a mother of two wonderful sons who served their country, no matter who their president was at the time. They met the call of their CIC, even through their CIC lied to all of us as a people and our military into a war that Never should have been.

You recognize her sons as serving their country as well, but you and your sons respected the ‘call’ and the president that called them. And for the record, our country supported our young men and women, families, and children to this very moment (by this president and this administration) better than any administration in my lifetime.

So do not allow this woman’s attitude that entered on the scene with actions that are so out of place concerning the decisions of this president. That is her baggage. Do not pick it up. You have handled the situation with professionalism, with courage, with boldness, and with beautiful empathy. Give her the baggage tickets back and let her pick up her own baggage. Surely the contents of those bags are full of soiled, biased, and ugly apparel that neither of your sons wore for their service to their country and for our security. Thank you both mothers for your sons’ service. God bless you, and you move on with the love, thoughtfulness, and empathy that no one can shatter. Your “core”, is yours to own and to take very good care of at all times. ((((Hugs)))))HZ

That is our POTUS. He walks his talk. He keeps giving even though his enemies keep taking; but “fret not dear TODers , evil doers will have a day of reckoning from a force in the Universe that is more powerful than these foolish men and women.

Thank you, Mr. President. We still are with you and have your back. Moving FORWARD.HZ

They can freak out all they want but here is a reality check:
Anthony Weiner, who came in Fifth in the Dem race got More votes than the GOP candidate—Joe Lhota.
Koch $$$ Adelson $$$$ will not work against the huge Democratic number advantage.
Plus, The Clintons are said to be lining up with Bill deBlasio.

But Ed still gets the ratings while bringing on Bernie (to probably bash the President) because your tv is still tuned in to his show…

I typed in a response to donna dem and learned our wi-fi was down. Finally back up and working. Sigh……… Anyway, thanks donna. You did good!!!!

I’ve been meaning to suggest this to those you who tweet. Isn’t there video of Romney being quite hawkish on Syria? And, didn’t he make the comment that Russia was our number one enemy in the world? During the foreign policy debate?????? If my memory serves me correctly, seems these would be good things to tweet and spread far and wide. Someone?? Anyone????

I’ve done that too. The most recent just now was CREDO mobile. I’m not going to renew my phone contract either when it comes up in November. I told them the President has the facts, they don’t, and stop yelling at me to “Tell the president”…..although this time it was my Congrescritters. What egotism to think they had anything to do with his decision!!!
