      You are welcome, Eve!

And, yes, UT – photos are gorgeous. Breathtaking, both our POTUS and our FLOTUS!

Surprised at the resignation of NAACP, Mr. Ben Jealous.

I will take his word as to WHY.

Praying there is no bad issues related to the decision because the gop would find ways to capitalize on any issue & try to tear the organization apart – this is the last thing the civil rights movement needs at this time.

I don’t know if anyone else has highlighted this table – estimates of ObamaCare cost comparison across different states.

I hope the chart in the attachment shows the figures:

chart includes only the states that have reported prices so far – stay tuned for others

Wowza! Love these pictures!!! What a magnificent gorgeous First Couple. I don’t remember seeing that picture of Michelle in that dress — beautiful. The President doesn’t wear a light colored suit often, but I remember a picture of him in a gray suit about the color of her skirt and I thought he looked especially good in it. I’m not up on men’s fashion, but I suspect darker suits are considered more businesslike or something.

I was looking for funny tweets to add to the last post, I’m not sure if the picture will show up. Somehow with all the questioning going on this one struck me as funny today. Here goes!

    simply gorgeous!

I remember that night in Hawaii. On the live feed, most guests within camera shot turned & looked admiringly at the First Couple as they strode into the room.

Smartypants is always illuminating. I thought her post about the media, NSA, transparency and President Obama was right on target. It just never ceases to amuse me when I see lefties saying something idiotic about the President and it’s obvious they don’t look at the White House site or listen to his speeches. They don’t really know the facts. the media pays attentions to clicks and tweets about their articles. They don’t know why it is getting attention, it just is. So normally I watch what I tweet or respond to. I think it’s important to let them know we aren’t buying misinformation and to correct it.

‘the media pays attentions to clicks and tweets about their articles. They don’t know why it is getting attention, it just is. So normally I watch what I tweet or respond to. I think it’s important to let them know we aren’t buying misinformation and to correct it.’

I do believe you are right, TME. I remember reading somewhere, not too long ago, that when counting tweets (for politicians??) etc more attention is paid to the total than to whether the tweet was pro or con the recipient. I tend to only retweet articles I think have something of value to say. On the other hand, though, I’m not sure how to let the ones not doing their jobs know I’m disgusted without tweeting them my disapproval.

      • September 8, 2013 at 6:46 pm

I just looked at the way I wrote that. I didn’t mean to say that they wouldn’t know about tweets. I hadn’t heard that about just counting the total of tweets. I thought they did read them. As far as articles go, they wouldn’t know why someone was clicking, but they sure as heck could know why someone was tweeting.

I still like the idea of tweeting my opinions as well as calling rep and senator. Especially with state officials, it’s not easy to contact them in Indiana. Tweeting is really the best way I’ve found.

I feel better when I tweet so I’m gonna! Let’s do it, vc!!!

          September 8, 2013 at 7:04 pm

TME, I can be empty-headed at times, but I THINK the counting of tweets had to do more with the politicians, (and maybe pundits?). Someone with a better memory may set me/us straight soon. It makes sense that writers of articles would read all their tweets to get some feedback.

I’m definitely continuing to tweet because I do feel better when I think I have contributed a good point. My take generally is, who knows on whom a tweet might make an impact?

    Obamacare: New fight, old tactics
Opponents of the healthcare law are following in the footsteps of Southern segregationists half a century ago.

I really wish Dems would grow a spine and confront GOP and SCOTUS segregationist mentality. The majority of Americans would stand up and cheer to have bigots shamed.

The MSM is complicit in completing IGNORING SCOTUS (except for a fluff profile here and there).

SCOTUS is dangerous and has far too much power concentrated in the hands of 9 people.

wonder how easy it would be to organize red-state voters around access to healthcare.

after all, the selfish ones who may be uninsured stand to personally gain from implementation

It’s too bad I didn’t see this photo for Mother’s Day.

I love elephants; they’re so intelligent, social and a matriarchal society (hate that GOP, which are nothing like elephants have usurped these magnificent creatures for their logo):

Am in awe at how gentle an enormous creature can be:

Based on the 5.20 p.m (Sunday) time stamp on US State Department tweet above, it seems everyone in Team Obama is working round the clock.

These dedicated Public Servants must be really exhausted.

I a little surprised that the media hounds have not yet released on of those famous photos they take, using a high-powered camera, and through the windows of the Oval Office

    Greetings TOD family

Our local OFA team made the paper, yah.

It was a lot of work, but worth it because we had a decent turn out, got great press, and the reading of the names of gun violence victim was very effective.

I visit daily, post rarely, and think of all of you often.

About 2 hours ago, I replied to a Salon article & I was ridiculing them that they might as well say the Syria victims gassed themselves.

Until I read the tweets from Bobfr above, I did not realize that there were US public figures making the stupid claims.

what has the world come to?

  21. September 8, 2013 at 6:47 pm

Was trying to watch something on my computer and I happened to turn on the TV and gosh darnit, now I’m watching Back To The Future!

Ok, call me stupid, but I never realized the day he went back in time was November 5th, 1955. And who just happened to be born on November 5th, 1976??? Me…LAMH36 (soon to be 37). Who knew?

I know, I know, just about EVERY crazy Back to the Future fanatic…lol!

Has anyone from the village posted a question regarding Syria for the Google forum with SoS Kerry?

There are a few ‘serious’ questions on the page. For example

Hello, Secretary Kerry, I support the administration’s proposed action on Syria. I do have one concern, however–what will happen if the US strikes inadvertently kill a Russian national? What response could we expect from Russia, in that event? Thank you!

One of the presenters at a Navy EEO conference I attended back when I was working was a principal of an inner-city Philly elementary school. She said they kept a washer and dryer at the school, and would very quietly offer some students clothes to wear during the school day, while the staff washed the clothes they had come to school in …

      That’s a teacher.

Good West Coast evening Chipsticks, UT & TOD family.

My newly adopted nephew (aka VC’s Offspring) sent me this cute joke this morning and I want to share it here on TOD. He gave me permission:

Q: What do you call a lone Republican in a room full of Democrats?

A: The elephant in the room!

This is not a easy decision for POTUS. I’m sure he would rather be focusing on jobs, debt ceiling, trying to grow this economy, Obamacare. I don’t think POTUS want to start another war.
