Wish I was there!
Congrats on 1st Mary.
Fantastic photos UT!!
#TinFoilBrigade

Covering all the bases … 😉
Many thanks, Bob!
These pictures ar gorgeous, UT. THANKS.
JackieO, thanks for the response in the last thread.
You are welcome, Eve!
And, yes, UT – photos are gorgeous. Breathtaking, both our POTUS and our FLOTUS!
Surprised at the resignation of NAACP, Mr. Ben Jealous.
I will take his word as to WHY.
Praying there is no bad issues related to the decision because the gop would find ways to capitalize on any issue & try to tear the organization apart – this is the last thing the civil rights movement needs at this time.
Yes, I hope speculation quiets down soon, and the new leader is chosen and welcomed by the first of the year.
I second your hope! times are extremely challenging for so many people – we need ALL hands on deck
maybe he plans to run for office
I don’t know if anyone else has highlighted this table – estimates of ObamaCare cost comparison across different states.
I hope the chart in the attachment shows the figures:
glad to see that the specific numbers.
chart includes only the states that have reported prices so far – stay tuned for others
Wowza! Love these pictures!!! What a magnificent gorgeous First Couple. I don’t remember seeing that picture of Michelle in that dress — beautiful. The President doesn’t wear a light colored suit often, but I remember a picture of him in a gray suit about the color of her skirt and I thought he looked especially good in it. I’m not up on men’s fashion, but I suspect darker suits are considered more businesslike or something.
I was looking for funny tweets to add to the last post, I’m not sure if the picture will show up. Somehow with all the questioning going on this one struck me as funny today. Here goes!
Photos were taken at the meeting of heads state – (maybe for Asia & Pacific region).
Earlier on 1 of the day-time events, FLOTUS had on beautiful floral -around dress as she waited to greet the VIPs
Thanks, Linda. I usually follow the international trips and I remember I didn’t see much of that one. I’m glad to see these pictures!
Bahahahahahahahaahahah.
simply gorgeous!
I remember that night in Hawaii. On the live feed, most guests within camera shot turned & looked admiringly at the First Couple as they strode into the room.
Smartypants is always illuminating. I thought her post about the media, NSA, transparency and President Obama was right on target. It just never ceases to amuse me when I see lefties saying something idiotic about the President and it’s obvious they don’t look at the White House site or listen to his speeches. They don’t really know the facts. the media pays attentions to clicks and tweets about their articles. They don’t know why it is getting attention, it just is. So normally I watch what I tweet or respond to. I think it’s important to let them know we aren’t buying misinformation and to correct it.
The fallacy of transparency in an era of media hyperbole and distortion

‘the media pays attentions to clicks and tweets about their articles. They don’t know why it is getting attention, it just is. So normally I watch what I tweet or respond to. I think it’s important to let them know we aren’t buying misinformation and to correct it.’
I do believe you are right, TME. I remember reading somewhere, not too long ago, that when counting tweets (for politicians??) etc more attention is paid to the total than to whether the tweet was pro or con the recipient. I tend to only retweet articles I think have something of value to say. On the other hand, though, I’m not sure how to let the ones not doing their jobs know I’m disgusted without tweeting them my disapproval.
I just looked at the way I wrote that. I didn’t mean to say that they wouldn’t know about tweets. I hadn’t heard that about just counting the total of tweets. I thought they did read them. As far as articles go, they wouldn’t know why someone was clicking, but they sure as heck could know why someone was tweeting.
I still like the idea of tweeting my opinions as well as calling rep and senator. Especially with state officials, it’s not easy to contact them in Indiana. Tweeting is really the best way I’ve found.
I feel better when I tweet so I’m gonna! Let’s do it, vc!!!
TME, I can be empty-headed at times, but I THINK the counting of tweets had to do more with the politicians, (and maybe pundits?). Someone with a better memory may set me/us straight soon. It makes sense that writers of articles would read all their tweets to get some feedback.
I’m definitely continuing to tweet because I do feel better when I think I have contributed a good point. My take generally is, who knows on whom a tweet might make an impact?
Two stunningly beautiful people.
😀 😀 😀
in time, there will be accountability for these actions.
what I do not get is WHY The Guardian allowed its brand to be totally defined by GG & Snowden

Obamacare: New fight, old tactics
Opponents of the healthcare law are following in the footsteps of Southern segregationists half a century ago.
I really wish Dems would grow a spine and confront GOP and SCOTUS segregationist mentality. The majority of Americans would stand up and cheer to have bigots shamed.
The MSM is complicit in completing IGNORING SCOTUS (except for a fluff profile here and there).
SCOTUS is dangerous and has far too much power concentrated in the hands of 9 people.
wonder how easy it would be to organize red-state voters around access to healthcare.
after all, the selfish ones who may be uninsured stand to personally gain from implementation
That should be very interesting Linda. Thank you

… you either enforce the law or de facto you’ve repealed it.

It’s too bad I didn’t see this photo for Mother’s Day.
I love elephants; they’re so intelligent, social and a matriarchal society (hate that GOP, which are nothing like elephants have usurped these magnificent creatures for their logo):
Am in awe at how gentle an enormous creature can be:
Oooooooooh, I’m going to cry!!!!!
Me too!
awwwww
Gentle giant
Based on the 5.20 p.m (Sunday) time stamp on US State Department tweet above, it seems everyone in Team Obama is working round the clock.
These dedicated Public Servants must be really exhausted.
I a little surprised that the media hounds have not yet released on of those famous photos they take, using a high-powered camera, and through the windows of the Oval Office
They’re throwing our children away, like so much trash. I am too sad about what is happening.
Greetings TOD family
Our local OFA team made the paper, yah.

It was a lot of work, but worth it because we had a decent turn out, got great press, and the reading of the names of gun violence victim was very effective.
I visit daily, post rarely, and think of all of you often.
WhatisWorking, you do magnificent work. I am so handful for you.
I am so THANKFUL for you!
Well done, Linda!!! Thank you. This is the only way change happens.
Yes We Can
linda how excellent is that? yay good for you guys 😀
Thanks to everyone for your kind words, I have a great team, and this site is a constant source of encouragement.
elected officials had better watch out because issue of school funding is going to play an increasingly bigger role in elections
About 2 hours ago, I replied to a Salon article & I was ridiculing them that they might as well say the Syria victims gassed themselves.
Until I read the tweets from Bobfr above, I did not realize that there were US public figures making the stupid claims.
what has the world come to?
Salon is Joan Walsh B.S. isn’t it?
Was trying to watch something on my computer and I happened to turn on the TV and gosh darnit, now I’m watching Back To The Future!
Ok, call me stupid, but I never realized the day he went back in time was November 5th, 1955. And who just happened to be born on November 5th, 1976??? Me…LAMH36 (soon to be 37). Who knew?
I know, I know, just about EVERY crazy Back to the Future fanatic…lol!
This is very cool! I knew you were exceptional!! 😀
So tense as I watch Serena Williams in the US Open final. Gooooooooo Serena!
I had my champagne ready for a straights sets victory ….. gulp ….. come on Serena!!!!!!
Today has been a total sports day for me. C’MON SERENA!!
You know LL, after Ireland lost to Sweden on Friday, and there pretty much ended their World Cup hopes, I had decided to give up on sport completely. But: C’MON SEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEENA!!!!!
I’m actually *gasp* watching American football today. And I saw Lewis Hamilton completely muck up Monza while Vettel marches like a pixie to another championship.
And at least this time Ireland lost fairly, unlike the last time with M. Henry’s magic fingers.
We now have a third set Chiparoo. This is so insane.
She’s a rascal, UT, just trying to make us fret!
Nerves all shot to hell. I’m going to need you to pass the champagne this way Chiparoo.
Has anyone from the village posted a question regarding Syria for the Google forum with SoS Kerry?
https://plus.google.com/events/crns7bqaccuvuehb44vdsrsmp8o
There are a few ‘serious’ questions on the page. For example

Hello, Secretary Kerry, I support the administration’s proposed action on Syria. I do have one concern, however–what will happen if the US strikes inadvertently kill a Russian national? What response could we expect from Russia, in that event? Thank you!
are you kidding me? smh, teachers they are so underappreciated. they buy their own stuff for their classroom now this.
I had a teacher who would buy her students lunch if they didn’t have money. Her name was Ms Jones.
One of the presenters at a Navy EEO conference I attended back when I was working was a principal of an inner-city Philly elementary school. She said they kept a washer and dryer at the school, and would very quietly offer some students clothes to wear during the school day, while the staff washed the clothes they had come to school in …
That’s a teacher.
I must say the President looks a lot like me in that picture, except he’s tall, dark, handsome and slender……..oh and owns a nice suit. OTHERWISE…..
😆 Identical in other words, Magapie??
Like this guy Chips!!!
http://www.ilooklikebarackobama.com/
Well if you imagine a continuum from the President down to an albino squid, I’m close to PBO than that guy.
Oh dear! Mr. Trevor “really looks like PBO”
That Trevor is just a ‘wild and crazy guy’!!!
Thank you – and this is how it should been framed all along.
yes! correct framing
I agree with this statement. Thanks arapaho415 for posting this tweet.
Good West Coast evening Chipsticks, UT & TOD family.
My newly adopted nephew (aka VC’s Offspring) sent me this cute joke this morning and I want to share it here on TOD. He gave me permission:
Q: What do you call a lone Republican in a room full of Democrats?
A: The elephant in the room!
LOL 😆
Too Cute!! 🙂
My President is working his heart out for this vote. I have complete trust in his judgement.
made the same observation about the hard work PBO & all members of Team Obama are putting in. it seems like not one has been able to take a breath
It appears that POTUS surprised the group. Accountability, GOP.
This is not a easy decision for POTUS. I’m sure he would rather be focusing on jobs, debt ceiling, trying to grow this economy, Obamacare. I don’t think POTUS want to start another war.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations Serena Williams. Five time US Open Champion.
Go Serena!!!!!
So cool that CBS Sports used Katy Perry’s “Roar” as Serena’s triumphant theme.
Congratulations Ms. Serena Williams! Proud of your achievements & dedication to tennis
Sereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeena!!!!!
Enjoy the champagne Chips!!!!
Ha, I will Bob!!!
Yes Serena won !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEA!!!!! Serena!!!!
That was intense – WHEW!
I wonder did FLOTUS watch the match.
Serena!!!!
And can I now bitch? Whose FUCKING IDEA was it to play the men’s final on a Monday ON PURPOSE?! Seeing as most of us are, you know, at work. Choads.
The women championship use to be played on Saturday and the men on Sunday.
Yeah, what’s with that LL? I can’t remember what they did past years, is a Monday final a new thing??
yes it is. They’ve played the past two men’s finals on Monday due to weather. So they thought “Hey, let’s make this a thing!” Stupid.
twitter is on fire! Serena Williams wins the day! 😀
I know Nadel is playing, who is he playing?
I don’t know because my husband is watching the packers game that he dvr’d so I’m missing history…..
3.6 .million in winnings!!! Salary equity is almost there
New post.

Sooooo….the Obamas are in Hawaii?
