That picture says it all. Our President is just such a wonderful heart warming man. As I was looking at all the pictures last night, I thought here is a man that such sucks up all the history and knowledge of what he is viewing and listening the historians of the country he is in. God Love Him he is on special person. I am forever thankful that I worked for him in 2008, 2012 to get elected. I really don’t think I will see this kind of person again in the White House in my life time.
Chips Thank you again for this site. I don’t know how you all can get through the news, posting here & on twitter. It boggles the mind. But then mine is a little slow right now. ๐Ÿ™‚

CNN News Day had Donald Rumsfeld on their show this morning, and I sent them a email asking the question, considering the dam mess Rumsfeld, G.W. Bush and Cheney got this country in with Iraq, why the hell do they think anyone want to hear one thing out of Rumsfeld mouth. This President is still dealing with the backlash from them lying us into Iraq, and Rumsfeld have the dam nerve to criticize this President about Syria.

And he said the Iraq War vote in 2002 came from a Democratically controlled Congress unchallenged.

Which is why there is such mistrust of administrations now. Which is why the specter of a POTUS lying us into war is part of the discussion. When we’ve lost thousands, maimed thousands more, killed 100’s of thousands of people whose country had nothing to do 9/11 – the country is suspicious.

When the Bush administration squandered the peace and economic dividend that the Clinton administration left them – left Iraq, Afghanistan and the world economy in ruins – it’s more difficult to convince the country that any military action is justified

Because you effing broke the world, Rumsfeld, Cheney and your cronies.

The senate then had Sen Tom Daschle as the senate Majority leader due to Jeffers’ departure from the GOP om March/April/May of 2001.

But The House was entrenched in the GOP hand…..with Hastert in the lead.

We do Not have a Media. Rumsfeld has said this now at The Today Show, Fox and Now, CNN without One so called Journo correcting him. That is criminal Journalistic Malpractice.

Last…..in 2011 was the last time US bombed any Nation relentlessly……It was in Libya.

But somehow…..that is left off and the rest of the Mouthpiece lazy media jumps to Iraq?

Well, Iraq is OK to sight is the truths would accomplish the opinions. But it does not. Pres Obama has made the Emoprogs, Fox, Righties, Media to all show who they are. That is not lost on Many of Us.

      September 5, 2013 at 8:28 am

G’morning VC! The Swedes heart our President!! You know vc, I’ve been noticing that that a lot of people refer to PBO as “Obama” and not “President Obama.” While in some cases – mostly in the US media and certain segments of the US political spectrum (from far left to far-right), it is meant disrespectfully, in many other cases, such as this one, it is NOT. I have heard young kids refer to him as “Obama” and they were excitedly anticipating meeting him or seeing him – so they were not disrespecting him. I have heard some staunch adult supporters refer to him as “Obama” on various occasions.

As I’ve indicated many times here on TOD, I think that PBO is much larger than the US Presidency. PBO is in a class all by himself, he is a world renowned figure who will go down in history as such. It’s like similar figures such as “Oprah,” or “Ghandi” who are of exceptional accomplishment in their respective arenas and don’t need a specific title because their name alone carries the gravitas.

Sorry if I’m rambling on about this, I just finished my coffee and it hasn’t quite kicked in!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

      • 51 dotster3
        September 5, 2013 at 8:43 am

That has always been my observance—-and why I never got mad, when others did, when I would hear just “Obama”. Too many people who love him do it. And I’ve heard “Obama” call himself “Obama”. I think of it also as being in a class by himself, someone so familiar and adored, that he is “Obama” here and around the world—-forever more.

      • 52 vcprezofan2
        September 5, 2013 at 8:48 am

Morning, Hopef! This made me chuckle….

‘I just finished my coffee and it hasnโ€™t quite kicked in!!’

I confess I no longer get as irate about our President being referred to without his title as I used to, except when it’s very obviously (or unconsciously) meant to be disrespectful. For example when old, past presidents or governors get addressed with titles and he doesn’t within the same context, my blood simmers. Having said that, I’m more and more aware that nothing they throw at him can actually diminish WHO he is, so now I can regard those who perpetuate the disrespect with a supercilious eye. When their bigotry and envy slip out into the public arena I can now say to them (out loud even) ‘When you’re crass, you’re crass, you little slug! You can’t hide it’ and feel better knowing he has brushed them off his shoulders again and again, and they haven’t hampered his swagger. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

Morning, PF. WHO PBO is is so obvious to everyone but the bigoted and the envious, that I have learned to mostly shrug them off as he does.

        • 55 hopefruit2
          September 5, 2013 at 9:37 am

That’s so true vc – it’s clear that the MSM is going overboard trying to *diminish* him – the NYT used that very word to describe him in a hit piece yesterday. But no matter how they try- they’re not succeeding and it enrages them further.

          • 56 vcprezofan2
            September 5, 2013 at 9:54 am

Hopef, IMO. part of the problem for the MSM in general (and the haters too) is that they cannot ‘diminish’ what/who they do not understand. I genuinely believe they do not understand him, so the ‘diminishing’ buttons they choose to push just do not connect to him. They are outclassed, outgunned, and bewildered chasing after a superior intellect with pin pricks, in their misguided attempt to ‘bring back to earth’ a man who is sincerely already grounded in who he is and what he wishes to accomplish. I don’t see them ever succeeding – not in their expected end result.

Our President takes those “insults” and turns them into positives. For example: Obama Care was coined as an insult, and he said, “Cool. You can call it that.” Then he brushed off his shoulders and kept it moving.

      • September 5, 2013 at 9:34 am

HF, that’s why I think the US presidency is only the beginning of his illustrious career. The world loves him too much and his vision is so expansive. He will have the entire world stage to play on in 2017 without the gnat-like Republicans and emos nipping at his heels all the time.

      • September 5, 2013 at 12:03 pm

I remember when the GOP started calling the ACA Obamacare in a disrespectful way and it was adopted and became an accepted positive reference. Karma!

Goooooood Morning….MsChipsssss…..UT….and to Alllll who make TOD the EXCEPTIONAL Place that it is….

what an extraordinary visit this has been for PBO…i know that he must have found so many kindred spirits during this visit…

I am overwhelmed at having such an extraordinary man as our President…there are so many people here at TOD who can say this so much better than me…but i just had to chime in to say how fortunate I am to be living in the time in which Barack Hussein Obama is PRESIDENT…as has been said…. It matters who is President..I believe that even when he leaves the WH he will continue to do extraordinary things…

Good luck GOP trying to defund ObamaCare….

    • September 5, 2013 at 9:40 am

HF, I am so looking forward to Obamacare starting date. My son in California was laid off from his job in March and though he now has a job he likes he does not have health care. And wouldn’t you know it, this summer has been the worse ever in terms of health issues he’s dealt with. Fortunately California has a terrific exchange program set up and I can’t wait until he can sign up. I am going to be sleeping easier at night, I can tell you.

      • 76 hopefruit2
        September 5, 2013 at 9:44 am

Good for you & your son jackie! A lot of people will sleep easier at night – thanks to O’care.

It’s shameful that the media doesn’t have a problem siding with the GOP who wants to prevent greater access to this basic provision of a right to health care.

And it’s shameful that the Emo-left are more concerned about NSA/Snowden/Rosin than they are about the millions who could potentially suffer and/or die without this provision.

Laughing at the MSM which is trying to frame PBO in Russia as the Big Showdown at the OK Corral, as if there was going to be an Obama/Putin duel at noon today. One news nut wrote “showdown”, and they’re all going with it. Hype it up.

    • September 5, 2013 at 9:41 am

Heartbreaking Moment: Democrat Asks Kerry for a Veteran if Syria Evidence is Real

    By: Sarah Jones

The saddest thing of all is that lies of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have left the scar tissue of mistrust on our collective psyche. It is so bad that even veterans who served their country now have doubts. It is heartbreaking to think that we canโ€™t stand together because the lies of George W. Bush destroyed our trust and tore us apart.

Send In the Clowns: Congress Takes Up the Syria Debate

    By Chez Pazienza

In short, you get Jeff Duncan. As in Republican South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan, who couldnโ€™t resist the opportunity to turn a hearing into whether America will attack Syria into an episode of The Five. He busted out all the greatest tracks from the conservative conspiracy theory hit parade: Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the IRSโ€™s supposed targeting of Tea Party groups, the NSA. Hell, he even quoted Nietzsche โ€” let me repeat: a South Carolina Republican quoted a syphilitic Nazi who said that God is dead โ€” doing what I have to admit is a pretty decent impression of Howard Johnson from Blazing Saddles.
Barack Obama deserves praise for doing the honorable thing and refusing to allow the executive branch to go it completely alone in deciding to use military force against a foreign country. Itโ€™s just a shame that means involving Congress.
