      Congrats on 1st, Linda!!

From the bottom of the previous thread ….

What every head of state knows is that the law must be enforced. Some are more inclined to do so than others, but they all know the bottom line in not enforcing the law.

As with the invasion of Kuwait, it took a while but a formidable coalition was forged.

Gassing innocents is so way out there & the fact that agents like sarin are ‘portable’ makes every head of state pay attention to the message of not enforcing some of the longest standing international treaties/statutes.

That, I have no doubt, is the conversation our President, several other heads of state and their various ‘secretaries’ (‘ministers’) have been having.

I think it highly likely that the coalition that President Obama is forging will be much larger than the one GWHBush forged prior to liberating Kuwait.

      Thus, the KISS focus …

What???? coming this early in the is the final evidence that proves that indeed World Press is “malfunctioning”

I thought a few people where ahead of me – have only been “on the podium” once …. long. long. long ago

Excellent tweet, Linda! You’ve really been spot-on, in raising profound moral issues, in all your tweets and commentaries i’ve read! I don’t want to hear these morally challenged people coming to us ten years from now to ask for apology for letting their hatred of President Obama blind them from Assad’s heinous actions.

Wow, a whole lotta of tweets here.

    I’ll add a couple more…

Just because the linked article is from 2008, Dems shouldn’t be guilty of allowing facts (or, in this case, lies) fade away down the memory hole.

Here is what people don’t understand, or they refuse to understand. If Assad used more and more chemical weapons how many could he kill without hardly an effort. Hitler kill over a million Jews. Today just imagine what he could do with these gutless Americans, Obama hating Republicans and the other gutless countries?

I love Colbert. But his argument is fallacious. WMD are different. They make it easy to kill a lot of people in a very little amount of time. This is on another level of horror. Colbert is so brilliant, he should be able to see that.

I especially agree with the quote saying MSNBC is turning into Huffington Poop. More and more celebrities and movie producers. Corporate sales center. not a place for politics/

The Center for Public Integrity (CPI) reports that the new regulations could “halt construction of future coal plants” and mean potential closure for many of the more than 500 coal plans operating today. They outlined three ways in which the industry will likely push back.

◾Industry is sure to flex its muscles in the regulatory process, inundating the EPA with comments, analyses, legal opinions and technical documents, and picking apart its draft plans.
◾Plan critics will engage lobbyists to influence the rules’ language, enlisting support from other federal agencies, and offering alternatives to the White House.
◾And, the coal industry is sure to oppose strict rules in a scorched-earth strategy infused with aid from allies in Congress.

This sort of multipronged approach by industry to weaken yet-to-be-written regulation is a time-honored tradition in Washington

I think POTUS should go on tv, say what he have to say, try to explain to the Americans who want to listen, then show some of the pictures of children dying from that gas and then look right in the camera and ask Americans if this doesn’t bother you, then what kind of nation have we become?

  16. September 5, 2013 at 9:01 pm

Online privacy: Americans worried about Facebook, not NSA, poll finds
“Thirty-three percent of users wish to avoid hackers, or criminals, followed by 28 percent of users who want to avoid advertisers. In comparison, only 5 percent of Internet users reported they wanted to avoid government observation.”

As I read all the media reports about the President being defeated in congress as regards to Syria (the headlines are not polite in how they make the statement – a couple have their usual racist implication) – I remember how they said in 2010 that Heath care would not pass congress, I remember how they said that congress would never increase taxes for the wealthy, I remember how they said that President Obama would be a one term President – and how until a month ago they were screaming for intervention in Syria – and how they changed their mind when they thought PBO was going to authorize intervention in Syria.

The media has NEVER got it right as to how this administration achieves its goals and never will. Now they are screaming that PBO will be defeated in congress – I wait to see the reality.

Is it just me that is in awe of ALL the “heads” on tv that have attended a military war college and know which tactical weapons will be deployed against Syria. Oh wait, I’m sure PBO must have mention the weaponry to be used. Right?

For those of you giving up on MSNBC, who would like something exciting to watch, if you have Netflix, I suggest two British series: House of Cards with Ian Richardson, and Judge John Deed with Martin Shaw. These two are superb. House of Cards exposes the underbelly of Parliament in a beautifully dressed, beautifully spoken way…..superb writing, superb acting. The three series were made in 1991, 1993 & 1995. Riveting.
Judge John Deed is a 21st century series about a High Court judge, played by Martin Shaw. The inner workings of the British legal system as you have never seen them. I was reminded of this series, because in the last season, Judge Deed goes to the Hague for one or two episodes.
Highly recommend these…..much better than MSNBC or anything on TV.

LOD on his segment on the Mythical Ronald Reagan…….Just Fantastic.

Saddam + Anthrax + St. Ronnie. Those are the facts……St Ronnie helped Saddam obtain Anthrax. But the FL Cuban American lied about that on Fox and No one corrected her lies.

Nena20409, I came back for that very reason, Lawrence O’Donnell ” Rewrite” tonight. I don’t know who that Republican Congresswoman who got on Fox and lied her freaking ass off about their Saint Ronnie. St. Ronnie Reagen wouldn’t allow any country to use chemical weapons, well St. Ronnie not only allow Iraq to use chemical weapons over and over again, he sold the ingredients to make chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein.
