Saturday August 24th FLOTUS, Malia, and Sasha went to see the Broadway’s play The Trip to Bountiful Saturday evening after spending the day watching tennis. Seem to be a nice day in New York for the Obama ladies.

Anniebella, one of my campaign team members was sitting right behind them!!! Well, the first row right behind the secret service! But still, WHAT A THRILL!!! I’m going to get tickets. I love good Broadway shows. And, from an interview that I saw, Cecily Tyson has long wanted to perform in this play. My friend gave very good reviews.

If it’s belly-laughs that you’re looking for, no search needed after AMK’s *brilliant* tweeted toon:

This really needs front page treatment, and should be hung on the wall of every Dem Gov, Rep and Senator:

I’m sure you’ve experienced this- you’re on the train (or any public place) and remember a silly joke from donkey yrs ago. You try not to laugh/smile, but it’s happening. You look up and sure enough there’s someone looking at you.

    And on to Syria:

As with Libya, if President Obama must act then he can do so with zero troop involvement and by delivering a message to the Iranians that they will likely never forget.

I have ZERO doubt President Obama will do what is best for America. No way is he going to extend the #NEOCON doctrine of perpetual war and perpetual profiteering by MIC plutocrats who reap those profits from troops whom they have always treated as slaves.

Had sent this earlier missive to President Obama …

‘Sustainable Influence’ is something a community organizer understands and they understand how to earn it. President Obama has demonstrated his profound grasp of the value of it.

Is Canada the 52nd state? According to a birther supporter of Ted “Canadian” Cruz, Canada is more part of the United States then Kenya.

You know what’s funny JOB, 54 years ago, Kenya was still under British rule. If Hawaii broke away 54 years ago to join the U.S.

All I really remember about “new states” is when Alaska became our 49th! I was 12 years old and had to MEMORIZE (the nuns had wild and crazy ideas back then) what in my mind seemed like pages and pages of a double-spaced speech on Alaska, which had been granted statehood, and deliver the darn thing in front of the parent-teachers association one fine afternoon. My mother was in the audience, scared I’d forget it. I was scared to death I’d forget it. Coulda used a teleprompter – Ha!

What deep thinkers men are… I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so I sat down and had a cold beer. The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking.

My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing and I said ‘nothing’. The reason I said that instead of saying ‘just thinking’ is because she would have said ‘about what’. At that point I would have to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics which would lead to other questions.

Finally I thought about an age old question: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts? Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts.

Well, after another beer, and some heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with the answer to that question. Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby; and here is the reason for my conclusion. A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, “It might be nice to have another child.” On the other hand, you never hear a guy say, “You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts.” I rest my case.

    Time for another beer.

      From the blog post…

She explains that she has adopted the pseudonym while she does this in order to draw a definitive line between the person she was before and the person she has become in hopes that someday she can return.
      My comment….
War…the killing …..robs us of our Humanity…I pray that the President has an “Arrow” that can lead him back…..

Unbelievable and sad for me listening to Chgo news tonight——that Chgo Public Schools have had to hire 600 people to provide “safe passage” to kids walking to school starting tomorrow, some having to walk a few blocks further to new schools because of school closings there. The 600 will be assisted by police and fire personnel. But what a sad state of affairs——that this massive effort is needed to get kids to school safely, without being shot or harmed in some way.

This is interesting. he’s filmed a lot of backstage moments and is talking about the difficulty of archiving it. I imagine there’s some wonderful moments on tape.

Future Historians: Good Luck Sifting Through Obama Video

President Obamaโ€™s second term is just seven months old, but people in the White House are already starting to look at what happens when it ends.

A massive archiving project is already under way: Letters, photos and even scribbled to-do lists with doodles in the margins go to the National Archives and eventually on to the Obama presidential library.

But one part of the project is a unique challenge for this presidency: dealing with all the footage filmed by the White House videographer.

While a photographer has been an official part of the White House staff since John F. Kennedy was president, an official videographer is something new….

There is a lot of good info about renewable energy on the rise in other countries. And President Obama has worked hard for it in US. The BLM is a government agency, but there were no bids on this controversial coal offering on public lands. One reason is President Obama’s crack down. GOOD!!

Coal shoulder: BLM sells controversial coal mining lease, but no oneโ€™s buying

Today the Bureau of Land Management in Wyoming held a sale for the lease of 148 million tons of coal on public land in the Powder River Basin โ€” and received not a single bid, a first in the state BLMโ€™s history….

…In other words, coal in this country is getting more difficult and costly to mine, domestic demand is falling, and Obama has directed EPA to crack down on emissions from coal-fired power plants….

Please allow me to re-post for the 1,000th time my favorite ’08 campaign song. Doesn’t it still make us all happy to know HE WON and he’s STILL our President!!! And the words in this song definitely have proven to be true.

Got it tonight when I got home, but the info sure will come in handy tomorrow. Thanks!

Did you see the pic at the Santa Monica pier? Of course, the bikini shot couldn’t be included as this is a family place….

I just saw the pic at Santa Monica Pier – glad the two of you got together. I imagine the bikini shot might be too much for some to handle on TOD… ๐Ÿ˜‰
