Of cooooooourse I waited for you! Heading for sleepies any minute now, tomorrow is the last day of my 2013 summer break, so that’s not good. Boss never forgives us for taking breaks, so emailed me to say my first week back would be jam-packed with awfulness. So, I will nightmare my way through my sleepies. Think of me, VC.
I’ll definitely think of you. Tell the ‘old guy’ that you are entitled to Tuesday off – VC says (to make up for the rainy first days of your summer vacay; if he requires a reason)!
I find myself wishing I had a glass of wine in my hand. Red wine. After toasting to a lovely (if ridiculously short) vacay for the Family Obama, and TOD!
I would drink it! 😉
MightyPamela, If I were there in your beautiful part of the country, I would have a glass for you on a lovely silver tray.. Having one myself anyway and remembering you my dear beautiful candle angel. Hope all is going fine with you. HZ
Went home to NOLA for a few hours and got a hold of my aunt’s camera cause she wanted me to download her pics from it and get them printed out for her (she’s old school…lol).
So I’ve been spending the last few hour looking at the pics. Found some great pics of my baby Maddie
Here’s Maddie and Darryl. He’s 25 years older. My aunt was 42 when she had Maddie Maddie and Dede
Well, Pf, it’s their loss. They’re missing the joy of the best president they will ever see and they’re corroding their souls with hatred in the process. In the meantime, the president keeps on doing great things and we keep on loving him. So that makes us–the majority of Americans–the lucky ones.
Weirdest story of the day award——-couple abandons U.S. because they think govt. is interfering with their religious beliefs—–don’t like womens’ choice or gay stuff. So they pile their 2 young children and a father in law in a sailboat and take off for the tiny island of Kiribati—-?—–out there somewhere—–least developed spot they could find——or wherever God would lead them. Of course they ran into bad storms which damaged boat—-do not think these were expert sailors, or even close——and were adrift for weeks before a Venezuelan fishing boat picked them up, spent weeks with them, then transferred to a Japanese cargo boat, spent weeks with them, until eventually arriving in Chile. And of course—-U.S. state dept. is coming to the rescue, flying them back to Ca. God led them back to California, I guess.
Setting aside the thought of the young children they put in peril, I think what happened to them is hysterical. Am I bad? (Who cares, if I am, in this case.)
JOB, may be I am bad too, because I felt the same as way as you did. I felt bad for the children, but I just couldn’t stop laughing at the idiocy of this couple. Seriously, I also think that a case could be made to show that they are unfit parents.
It IS hysterical, because they went through all of that, and they ended up having a blast. THey needed that adventure, but I really hope they learned their lessons. Otherwise they won’t be so lucky next time.
In a very slightly similar way, a facebook acquaintance of mine, who is very anti-choice, anti-marriage equality, anti-government, anti-health care, anti-anti, posted a link today giving information about people who may be eligible for Pell grants and not know it. I did comment about what a great GOVERNMENT program it is and how wonderful that the GOVERNMENT is giving people a shot at higher education. I didn’t go into the part about Republicans cutting the grants in their ‘budget’ because I didn’t want her to take the post down. But really.
I will never understand how other people’s faiths are an infringement on their religious freedom. But it’s okay for them to theocratize the entire government and society to their whim? So no one is entitled to ‘freedom’ but them?
Hannah Gastonguay said the family will now “go back to Arizona” and “come up with a new plan.”
————-
So they’ll come up with a new plan for some new adventure, and then get rescued–all on the dime of the American taxpayer. They were lucky once…they might not be so lucky a second time, if they don’t learn from the first.
The lovely young brothers, James and Ryan were so sweet in their reactions when asked how it was seeing the President of the United States. These are the beautiful young people all over this country that we here on TOD are fighting for each and everyday with the brilliant leadership of our wonderful Chips. Supporting our President. It is worth it when these young people get it. Loved that clip. So lovely and respectful. This is what FLOTUS and POTUS talk about as they travel all across this country. Beautiful, bright, kind, loving, and visionary people of all walks of life who love this country and love their President.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( Good Night Chips and my beautiful TOD Family))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Tuck me in time. HZ
Good night, HZ! I know of no one who radiates so much love, honesty and wisdom as you do. I hope you have a restful sleep. We need you back here, awake and refreshed, to continue sharing your love and calming wisdom.
Lovely even tho a bit too contemporary for my taste. I would happily accept it as a vacation spot though. 🙂 Love the infinity pool and the views from there.
Obsessively checking weather at the Vineyard——looks like the Obamas will have a picture perfect day for first full day of vacay there——sunny and high of 77. So good news there! Similar here in Illinois, minus the spectacular setting. (altho I can always find nature and beauty to appreciate here also—–an adorable bunny couple scampering about in backyard, super smart little gophers running across deck, a stunning cardinal couple who sing us awake every a.m., big furry yellow and black bees loving the sweetness of the coneflowers, teeny, vibrant hummingbirds, the sleepy dove who naps daily on deck railing, industrious bushytails hard at work, showing new babies the ropes, an occasional coyote and lovely deer families trotting through, a goose couple who hang out by neighborhood pond—–they mate for life, you know—–isn’t that romantic?) So—–beauty everywhere—–now I don’t feel so bad about not hanging with the Obamas in the Vineyard. 🙂
That house is lovely, but did anyone see the pictures of the couple that got married on the beach, though my faith in humanity sometimes waver it is moments like this that give me hope.
Not surprised, if it’s a generator used in case of a power failure it will smoke due to generator blowing out dried debris. I’m required to do a monthly generator test at the power-plant that I work at, and smoke coming from the exhaust happens all the time.
Jovie, CarolMae, etc. did any of you see the shooting stars last night? I didn’t. I checked outside at about 1AM local time but saw nothing 😦 Will try again tomorrow morning. I don’t think my location is ideal for viewing either – too many city lights.
Wait!
I’m coming…..
just have to grab my swimming stuff!
Veeeeeeee Ceeeeeee!!!!
You waited for me….aaaaw! 😆 So what, are you heading off to bed now?
Of cooooooourse I waited for you! Heading for sleepies any minute now, tomorrow is the last day of my 2013 summer break, so that’s not good. I will pass on the message!!! 😆
Thanks! I may not be a Leo, but the ego is still healthy. 😉 Rest well!
Congrats Vc on #1 🙂
Need to recover my breath from that mad dash. 😉
VC was not only #1. She was also #2 and # 3!
Bo and FLOTUS look good together, don’t they?
I wannnaaaa goooooo tooooo!
Sweet Dreams, CC – if that last phrase is your way of saying you’re off to bed! 😀
Yay…best stuff to go to sleep with. Thanks Chiparoo.
I wannnnna say that it was pretty amazing toooooo!
I find myself wishing I had a glass of wine in my hand. Red wine. After toasting to a lovely (if ridiculously short) vacay for the Family Obama, and TOD!

I just love the pic of FLOTUS taking the “selfie” with Bo 🙂 It’s as if Bo knows exactly what’s going on! LOL.
Exactly hopefruit2. Bo is such a sweet and smart First Dog. Love the photoHZ
Geraldo could learn some lessons on how it’s done.
Just for laughs.

They don’t make shows like that anymore. There were lessons to be learned that they don’t care about teaching, anymore.

Maddie and Dede
What a cutie! Simply adorable 🙂
Oh my goodness- they are both adorable, and she looks like Minnie Mouse, 🙂
The girls must be still at camp – didn’t see them with PBO & FLOTUS.
I read some article where it said the girls have not arrive yet. So I guess they will be coming.
Ok- thanks.
In this article it states girls were not with First Couple, had not arrived yet
http://mvgazette.com/news/2013/08/10/president-obama-first-lady-arrive-marthas-vineyard-vacation
Thanks dotster for the article!
Prettyfoot, I say “F” them both. That’s Forget, not that other word.
Indeed, PrettyFoot! And the two groups hate the president because of ideology and pure racism.
Well, Pf, it’s their loss. They’re missing the joy of the best president they will ever see and they’re corroding their souls with hatred in the process. In the meantime, the president keeps on doing great things and we keep on loving him. So that makes us–the majority of Americans–the lucky ones.
This is ‘old’ but I like the message.
There are so many candidates to use that graphic for, you might want to keep it handy for the future!
😆
I love this pic, VC! Speaking provincially, this is the slogan that the Democratic candidate running against Darrell Issa should adopt.
😀 Maybe you should send it to him/her, Nathk with the suggestion.
Good night, TOD-town. I is going to read a bit before going to bed.

Ignorance is bliss, I guess. And they’ll never know a moment of shame or admit their folly.
THIS!!!!!!
Dumbasses they are. Why didn’t they call on their God to save them? Now they want US govt help?
Setting aside the thought of the young children they put in peril, I think what happened to them is hysterical. Am I bad? (Who cares, if I am, in this case.)
No, jacquelineoboomer, you are not bad. You are so thoughtful and you are speaking to the truth of using common sense.HZ
Well, thank you. 🙂
JOB, may be I am bad too, because I felt the same as way as you did. I felt bad for the children, but I just couldn’t stop laughing at the idiocy of this couple. Seriously, I also think that a case could be made to show that they are unfit parents.
Definitely “unfit,” in my mind! Maybe somebody’s paying attention to that part of the story, after the publicity.
Have the parents learned a lesson? Probably not.
No they haven’t…and you are absolutely correct to laugh at the stupid parents.
It IS hysterical, because they went through all of that, and they ended up having a blast. THey needed that adventure, but I really hope they learned their lessons. Otherwise they won’t be so lucky next time.

A lot of people don’t actually connect the good done by government programs with the nasty government monster that smolders in their imaginations.
I agree. Really, how could they? They are polar opposites. There is no middle ground.I couldn’t believe it when I saw her post.
It’s like they’re living in an alternate universe.
I will never understand how other people’s faiths are an infringement on their religious freedom. But it’s okay for them to theocratize the entire government and society to their whim? So no one is entitled to ‘freedom’ but them?

Did that couple refuse the help from the U.S.Government? So where are they heading next? Where ever it is good luck.
It is funny or dam stupid, maybe both.
Oh My Gosh! That is the cutest photo of Michelle taking a picture of herself and Bo!!!!
It is. Even though she is First Lady of the United States, she is still “everywoman.”
Can you imagine Barbara or Laura Bush doing that pose with their dog. NOT!
NOT. Plus who’d want to imagine them? 🙂
Indeed….it’s an increasingly long list…
Brother Prophet West
Kos (and his gang of 30 Old Orange emos)
Brother Smiley
Van Jones
Melissa Harris Perry
Bill Press
Matt Damon;
Pretend Emo: Huff
So right about the “Pretend” for Arianna.
I agree! Arianna Huffington belongs in that group.
Michael Moore
Rachel Maddow
Nicole Sandler.
Mike Pampantonio (Bobby Kennedy’s partner on Ring of Fire)
I lust for that purse.

I agree with you. All I could do is add an amen to that
I’ll second you both Nath and sj! HZ is a true treasure!!
I third that! Love HZ’s posts. She always has a wonderful perspective on life.
I was going to second it, but I wasn’t sure if anyone else would say 2nd by the time I posted my comment.
Happy Birthday, Donna dem.
Good Night, TOD!
Happy birthday Donna – your day is almost over in my world – it was a lovely sunny winter day – perfect.
Donna, didn’t realize it was your birthday. Hope you had a great one.

Looks peaceful & serene. Just what they need. The view from the infinity pool is breathtaking!

Oh my goodness, what a lovely vision, and you described it perfectly, dotster!
That’s a backyard I wouldn’t want to leave either, dotster. How lovely! 🙂
That house is lovely, but did anyone see the pictures of the couple that got married on the beach, though my faith in humanity sometimes waver it is moments like this that give me hope.
I was curious about the wedding you mentioned—–found this—–looks like a great couple, lovely family.

It was pictures of a gay couple. If you scroll down the page that has the Obama pictures you will see the couple.
Sorry, I meant President and First lady.
Oh okay—-lots of inspiring weddings….
happy Birthday, Donna! May this year be filled with the blessings that you share with all of us every day.
Happy, happy birthday, Donna Dem!
Happy Birthday!

Good morning TODers — another lovely day here in the Big D. Hope you are all well, and “happy birthday” to Donna Dem!
