As soon as I get more info, I’ll let you know. I just found out about it yesterday. Attended our Camp OFA event Monday evening, about 10 folks turned out, all except one were new to me. Unfortunately, we have not had anyone step up to lead the Delco chapter; after months of saying NO, they caught me in a moment of weakness and I said yes… Pray for us!

    A FALSE EQUIVALENCE CLASSIC

The press’ role in the new form of “defining deviancy down.”

    By James Fallows

    —————————————————–

But there’s a different way to describe the situation. That would be to say that the 44th president, like his 43 predecessors, believes that the United States should honor its sovereign debt, as part of maintaining the “full faith and credit of the United States.” He also believes that the policy on government spending first applied under George Washington and in force since then should still be the policy now: once Congress has voted programs or benefits into law, then the government is legally and morally obligated to carry out those programs, until and unless they are repealed.*

To which the other “side” to the dispute replies: Who cares! We don’t like you or your programs, and to prove it we’re willing to risk a default on the national debt.

If you describe the “disagreement” the first way, no one’s really to blame. It’s just politics, a sign of the symmetrical dysfunction that plagues us all.

The only good thing is that it’ll be another way for current and future generations to learn about what happened to Trayvon, to preclude its happening again – at least if our prayers are heard. But it’s too early to be anything but sad about the entire matter.

What you’ll be reading about NSA surveillance tomorrow (updated)

    By Smartypants

    —————————————-

Glenn Greenwald keeps promising more “bombshells” from the trove of classified documents Snowden leaked. But after today, he’s going to run into some competition for the media’s attention.

The Obama administration plans to release previously secret court orders that set out the rules and rationale for the bulk collection of U.S. phone records as officials seek to quell growing unrest in Congress over the government’s massive information dragnet.

According to a senior U.S. official, the government has declassified the order by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, or FISA court, that authorized the collection program, which began in 2007…

Most likely so. I vividly remember in 2009 interview with CBS or NBC (something like that) and PBO is in the Beast with a reporter, they make a stop at 5 Guys for lunch and while he was exiting the car Reggie Love says “hold on Sir” gesturing him to stay in the car and PBO says “ahhh no it’s okay” and exits the car. The reporter described it as a flash of anger, heavily rolls eyes. They are so eager to paint him as rude or angry when he’s a very gracious guy and also human.

That is the dumbest article——Dana Bash and colleague just fishing for something negative to write about Obama. Tiresome. The NY Dem said he wasn’t offended, he wanted a commitment on info about a biz loan in his district from the president and he got it. It’s like reporters are running up to everyone and pleading, ” Do you have anything bad you can say about President Obama? Please! We’ve got a deadline!”

However, if she managed to fight her way to a win, then she might as well go all in now while she still has 5 years before she has to face re-election. If not, why did she fight so hard for the seat? Of course this doesn’t excuse the one more ‘Pub who could cast their vote yea. There has to be a ‘safe’ northern ‘pub out there (of course when McDonnell is a RINO, then no ‘pub is ever safe).

He’s DLC through and through and was a huge proponent of the deregulation that brought this country down in 2008. Less than a month after being acquitted of second-degree murder charges related to his killing of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman was reportedly caught speeding Wednesday, with a gun in the glove compartment of his vehicle. The incident took place in the town of Forney, Tex., TMZ reports.

Zimmerman, who informed police that the weapon was in the car shortly after being pulled over, was asked where he was going, to which he responded, “nowhere in particular,” according to the site.

This is the second time Zimmerman has been in the news since his trial ended on July 13.

DON’T CAST ASPERSIONS ON MY ASPARAGUS ACT

    Do Nothing

    By JM Ashby

    —————————————————-

Why did they run out of time? It’s only Wednesday, isn’t it? They aren’t leaving town until Friday.

If they ran out of time, it’s because the rest of this week will be dedicated to passing the Don’t Cast Aspersions On My Asparagus Act and a series of other nonsensical legislative fart jokes.

Drafting appropriations bills in the House has been made more difficult because Republican leadership has dictated that all bills must fit within the Paul Ryan Path to Poverty budget framework which would balance the budget in 10 years. This as affected passage of the defense appropriations bill as well as the farm bill and transportation bill.

I wonder how many more hundreds of hours our media is going to spend on Weiner’s weiner. What a huge waste of air time, just beyond ridiculous——every single news program and talk show and entertainment show has spent a majority of their time slot on this, all have this as their opening top story. Tweety and Fineman are now giggling away at this as if they were 12 year old boys behind the barn with Playboy. Maybe we need to try to find a way to add some kind of (fake) sexual element to issues we want them to pay attention to. It’s that bad, that desperate.

That, and the Manning stupidity coming out of Jim Ward. manning had legal options if he wanted to blow the whistle on wrongdoing during war and in violation of his oath. 720,000 documents indiscriminately dumped is treason. Certainly Americans aren’t interested in reading it, but our enemies are.

Yet Jim Ward thought it was heroic, and all that b.s. There was yet another Wiener call, and then one for PBO to pardon Manning, and I’d had it. I couldn’t stomach another minute and turned the show off.
