FYI – Yet another fake account posing as “liberal” but 85% of their tweets are attacks/insults/snarky remarks about Democrats, President Obama, the WH. They put out at least 5 tweets not-so-subtly criticizing PBO’s excellent economic speech today.

This is not the time to defund NSA…Congress has know about NSA from the beginning…but now they are outraged…the solution in congress is always to throw out the baby with the bathwater!

And you would never guess this is a GOP stronghold county (2012 election)! Based on a tweet I read earlier – there were lines wrapped around the corner of the venue, waiting for our President.

So, what can the President do if the republicans are Hell bent on destroying him and obamacare?
At some point, the public will have to choose, do they want this?
If they do, the Republicans will have another wave election and their will be a new World order.
If they don’t, we will get off our butts and Vote!!!

You don’t have an answer? Just like the sequester where you and others here said the same foolishness and we got the sequester.
              Oh well…
I guess I will just have to encourage everybody to vote! It’s the only power we have.
And if democrats get frustrated and stay home…
That will mean a third term of bill Clinton.

          • July 24, 2013 at 6:07 pm

How do you answer this kind of intractable recalcitrance? At this point, they are showing themselves. But the beauty of ACA is that the insurance companies and the doctors and most of the states are moving FORWARD. I do believe we will have an all-out marching in the streets if they dare this kind of offensive. Except for idiot pockets of droolers in the red states, people are really sick of this terrorism and will not stand for it.

They won when a bunch of stupid Americans either stayed home in 2010, or pulled the lever for the GOP candidate.

Going forward we need to have resolve, optimism, determination. The people who are suffering from the sequester and the rest of us should use this as a WAKE up call that we are responsible for our own destiny, and when we fail to exercise our rights at citizens, when we insist on complaining, griping, moping, about every nonsense the MSM puts out there to distract us, helping the MSM to spread anti-DEM or anti-PBO propaganda, by attacking PBO /DEMS instead of calling out the MSM, we have FAILED to do what is needed of us.

This is 100% OUR FAULT and we must resolve to make 2014 not be repeat of 2010!

Jovie when you talk negative all the time & post items from RW rags like the hill – it becomes like the boy who cried wolf. PBO fights the fights he can win – unlike the GOP who fight – anything – be it domestic policy or other nations.

There can be civil war – or sane people can vote – but talking only of what PBO hasn’t done – rather than what he has done – is doing entirely what the GOP and their BFF the media want you to do.

I stand my responses to your concerns about this yesterday. They are bluffing and talking tough. Gov’t shut down is political suicide and the GOP will cave on the debt ceiling (same as they did earlier this year). The business community does not want US credit rating to go down again bc would mean end of cheap money.

          July 24, 2013 at 6:39 pm

I’m with you Eric. The GOP is becoming increasingly unhinged and desperate. They’re acting like a barrel of trapped rats. They are just flailing and flinging mud. This morning you should have seen the BS that came out from the MSM in the form of polls, RNC talking points about OBamacare, etc.

          That’s best case scenario.
          But they don’t care!

Defaulting would be Unconstitutional. I know PBO said his legal advisors were not sure he could use a Constitutional option to pay the debt anyway, But now if they really do try a default over defunding Obamacare, I bet he will and dare them to impeach him over it. Those bastards!

  20. July 24, 2013 at 6:04 pm

I’m feeling a little bit sad. All decisions concerning this process are totally left up to President Obama:

Two close advisers tapped to lead Obama library push

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama, pondering his post-presidency, is directing a small circle of longtime advisers to actively start thinking about his future, including where to locate his presidential library.

I have it from multiple sources that Chicago business executive Marty Nesbitt will lead the process, with Obama putting in charge one of his closest friends, a golfing and basketball buddy who was treasurer of his 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns.

Julianna Smoot, an Obama 2012 deputy campaign manager who was the 2008 campaign finance director, is also part of the leadership and will oversee the fund-raising drive that will eventually be associated with an Obama library.

The inner circle also includes White House Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Alyssa Mastromonaco who is handling the Obama post-presidential portfolio. Every sign continues to point to the Obama library being located in Chicago.

The group started coming together in the spring and will step up the pace, I’m told, during August. The Obama family will be spending part of that month on a vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. (Obama mentioned in a speech Monday night that his daughters, Malia and Sasha, are at camp.)

It is not clear yet when papers forming a new entity — a foundation or some other type of non-profit — will be filed.

I would take these media reports with a grain of salt at this time. PBO will make a decision when he’s good and ready. And we may just be as pleasantly surprised as we usually are, when PBO makes his final decision.

      • July 24, 2013 at 6:12 pm

PBO is directing this effort. He’s preparing for the long term. That’s all this is about.

          July 24, 2013 at 6:14 pm

Right, but we don’t know one way or the other what the end result is going to be with regard to Chicago vs Hawaii. Yes he may put the main Library in Chicago – which I can totally understand, just for convenience and access reasons alone, it would make sense.

And he may also have something special planned for Hawaii – but he may just not be ready to detail this plan yet.

          • July 24, 2013 at 6:17 pm

Right. They’re just now launching the exploratory phase, as the article says.
