Obama’s speech was just wonderful. I haven’t listened to the entire thing yet, but when I can take a break from painting my condo two fresh shades of green (with black baseboards-I don’t care what they say about those), I’m going to sit down and listen.

I have, just for myself mind, decided that ALEC is part of our most recent version of the John Birch Society. When I looked up a little info on the JBS I couldn’t believe it. Early on they were discredited by their own Republican party (back in the day) because they began to do things like call Eisenhower a commie. Now they have assumed new names (IMHO), Tea Party, Libertarian, Patriot Groups. From now on I making reference to that and trying to learn more.

Is it possible to have the president’s Friday Comments posted again? Those who tweet if possible could embed that speech to every #Tavisweeps tweet post.

During Clinton yrs…..Tavis was never this vicious nor did he even attack Clinton. That is why I loved what Goldie Taylor had to say today on MSNBC.

I love that she was so direct, and she included Tavis Smiley’s side-kick, Cornel West. They focus on things that do nothing to move the ball forward. How does a person wake up in the morning to push the idea that President Obama was “pushed to the podium”, as though it makes a difference in the grand scheme of things. Tavis wants to imbue President Obama with sinister motives, so that the discussion changes from doing something, to just talking smack about President Obama. What a wasted life, if attacking President Obama is Tavis Smiley’s life mission.

I have never seen the Movie, however, I have heard of it:

    Who is afraid of #Tavisweeps?

He is a fool, telling tales, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Corbett has had a stunning fall from grace after his relative cakewalk in 2010. It was a Republican year, Corbett was a well-liked, corruption-busting attorney general, and voters appeared to be looking for a less colorful personality after eight years of Gov. Ed Rendell.

Now, most independent polls show that only about a third of registered voters approve of the way he is handling his job, and small majorities agree that he does not deserve a second term.

PA DEMS will be working hard to make sure that one-term is all he gets

    In my inbox today:

I’d expect this from Fox News, but not “Meet the Press.”

When David Gregory asked Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about the 20-week abortion ban moving through Congress, Gregory repeatedly referred to this legislative attack as “reasonable.”1

It’s the job of journalists like Gregory to see through these anti-choice talking points – not repeat them.

There’s nothing reasonable about anti-choice lawmakers inserting themselves between a woman and her doctor.

The way the media report on the 20-week abortion bans is critical, especially as anti-choice lawmakers push these attacks from states like Texas all the way up to the U.S. Congress. Americans trust “Meet the Press.” When this show doesn’t report the news fairly and honestly, Americans come away with only one side of the story and don’t have the facts they need to fight back.

We can’t let this interview go without saying something. Tell David Gregory his depiction of 20-week abortion bans is misleading to the millions of Americans who count on him to serve up the facts without bias on “Meet the Press.”

Here’s how Gregory put his question: “Is it not reasonable to put some restrictions on late term abortion as we’re seeing in the states?”

If Gregory had done his research, he’d know that abortion at this point in pregnancy is extremely rare, only 1.5 percent of all abortions.2 These bans target women who face a complication later in pregnancy, such as a heart-breaking diagnosis of a fetal anomaly.

When a reporter like Gregory puts anti-choice spin into his story, he makes it that much harder to ensure that people know the truth about how these bans hurt real women often facing difficult health decisions.

Tell David Gregory to get his facts straight when he reports on abortion.

I’m surprised at Ms. Pelosi’s tweet. It’s so good! I always thought of her as more neutral.
