Good for Ron Kirk. Enough with the nonsense.

Wow, UT beat me to this.

I feel so inadaquate about these issues, I should just shut up.

We need more of this silliness to beat it, period.

Hey, do not shut up….As a Canadian girl I feel very inadequate myself and feel my opinion does not really matter…but I plug away, not as eloquently as many on this site mind you. I love this site and am continuously impressed with everyone’s opinion no matter where they come from.

I don’t know if anyone here had followed this story…but it will remind you of what’s important in this life…and the bonds we all share.

That’s ‘cheating’, Utal. There’s no hand holding in one of those, or were you checking to see if we were paying attention? 😉

  6. July 20, 2013 at 5:42 pm

You guys saw the letter from the ACLU to Eric Holder? Apparently it asks Holder to drop their investigation because a jury has already decided. Unbelievable!!

      July 20, 2013 at 5:56 pm

Guess what he wants to do with that letter that is basically telling him what to do…Of course he will answer them in the most polite of ways that the investigation is ongoing!

      July 20, 2013 at 6:00 pm

It’s actions like this letter that increase my respect for both AG Holder and Pres O – both confident men who know their jobs well enough not to be intimidated by anyone.

        July 20, 2013 at 6:02 pm

Exactly vc – Holder and PBO will share a chuckle over that letter, and then send it straight to the garbage, where it belongs.

        • 29 vcprezofan2
          July 20, 2013 at 6:08 pm

Oy. Though AG will write a polite response in keeping with his professional self. You know the bit; ‘I got your letter. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Be assured we will do what we think is right for the A-people.’ And in invisible ink – ‘You all can stuff it!’

America must have done something right to have men like these two ‘mature’ into their individual positions at just the right time to really help with the realization of that ‘more perfect union’ spoken about from its beginnings.

VC, the “rights” were so wrong they got above themselves.
The greed, evil, self gratification, lies, racism, hate have been covered and hidden so long…….it’s time.
The tired, poor. The huddles masses yearning to breathe free…..it’s our time.
The prayers of the righteous availeth much…….it’s our time.
The faithful few, the remnant who believe in the GOd of love…..it’s our time.
          For Our Faithfulness…….It’s Our Time!

Hello, LDS. It is indeed our time AND, because it is, we have been given the right men and women for the job. The only thing else needed is for us to do our part, consistently, unswervingly, in unity, not balked in any way by the deniers who are too dumb to recognize the times or too hate-filled to let themselves be part of something positive.

      July 20, 2013 at 6:05 pm

Right. The ACLU cannot go a day without criticizing the AG for not prosecuting something. But this? Where there are thousands of folks todayin 100 cities across the US protesting the Florida miscarriage of justice? Oh yeah, the ACLU decides it was a “good job Florida”. You the jury essentially found a black kid guilty of murder without a weapon (unless you consider a sidewalk a weapon of course ) and we think that’s just about right. They are truly the EmoLeft.

I’m a little confused by this. DOJ is look at this as a civil case — to see whether Trayvon Martin’s civil rights were violated, right? Why would the ACLU, an organization whose sole purpose is to protect citizens civil rights, suggest that DOJ not look into it? WTH?

Violating a person’s CIVIL RIGHTS is nothing to ignore or avoid.

You MUST SEE THIS! There are metaphors in here.. about the delicate balance and interconnectedness of all things on this Earth. Mesmerizing. I have to admit to tears welling…I’m not exactly sure where or why they came…

This is great! I love Harry Connick Jr. I got to see him live here in my hometown and it was over the top wonderful. Because of what he said that night and how real he was, hubby and I went down to NOLA a few month later for a volunteer weekend with Habitat for Humanity and the Musicians Village. The Marsalis Center was in the works, but not built.

Tell the ACLU that the all white jury found Emmitt Till killers free, too. If we go by what they are saying that should have been the end of that too.

      • 64 anniebella
        July 20, 2013 at 7:52 pm

Seem to me the ACLU are more concern about traitors like Snowden, child killers, and terrorists who was American before they join the terrorists group.

The family, not just the President and First Lady, are hand holders. I think this helps them realize what and whom is important, and it helps them get through it all.

OMG, just read the ACLU TL. It’s almost exclusively about drones, drivers license plate tracking, NSA and Snowden. Next to nothing about Stand Your Ground laws, abortion restrictions, racial profiling, stop and frisk or anything that that affects women and minorities. It’s all about protecting and prioritizing the rights of white men. https://twitter.com/ACLU

They’re hypocrites. Always trolling. To not want AG Holder to investigate if Trayvon Martin’s civil rights and liberties were violated, is the essence of stupidity.

You got it. I forgot gun control. They have NOTHING about that. They are totally fine with 6 year olds in school and teens in movie theaters and kids in gang neighborhoods getting mowed down and murdered here in the US but they have their entire army of attorneys and PR people going after POTUS for the 3 people who were killed by a drone in a foreign country.

This is PROOF of how lazy WH correspondents are.

White privilege coupled with laziness gives America a MSM that’s fit for third-world dictatorships. Just worthless.

Also, for those interested in Martha’s Vineyard and the Obama’s past vacations there, check out Matt’s recent twitter timeline.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve been thinking about Helen Thomas – basically evicted from the WHPC because she spoke her known truth – the white privilege that remain tell lie after lie and show by their smiling how smart they think they are. Only thing the WHPC worried about Helen Thomas was who would get her seat in the press room.

The press has much to answer for in individuals who have been damaged by their reporting for the GOP and acceptance of GOP lies as truth. Prime example at the minute – giving space to the GOP attacks on health care. No-one in their right mind would be arguing that adequate health care is not good for the American people – yet this mob of yahoos nod those heads and and ask PBO why he doesn’t go and “have a drink” with Boehner.

I am still full of anger – hard to believe that the media and the GOP are STILL trying to ensure that PBO sets their agenda – not the agenda that the people of the US voted to have.

Question? Has hide or hair been heard from Eugene Robinson after POTUS speech? I though I heard on Hardball yesterday that Eugene wrote a critical article of POTUS pre-speech. Just wondering what he has to say now.
