Stevie Wonder with Take 6 ~ Love’s In Need of Love Today
From the “America: A Tribute to Heroes” telethon, which aired live on 35 broadcast and cable networks on Friday, September 21, 2001. The original version of this song can be found on Wonder’s 1976 album, “Songs in the Key of Life.”
Save The Children!
This contrast is too similar in so many ways.
They were both going to get candy. They were children. They were murdered because of hate.
This is so painful….
Chips,
I’m experiencing a case of deja vu. A question. Were you the same person who made a version of this video during the 2008 election, with same music. I used to repeatedly watch it full of some of these images that were current to that time. But after the election that video disappeared off you tube never to be seen again, until your version appeared with updated images. Were you the creator of that earlier version or am I hallucinating? 😀
Um, wait a minute. Was there an even earlier version than this one that ran during the campaign b4 election, and so would not have had the election night pictures? But with same music?
Ok, maybe MY BRAIN is tricking me. But thanks for the trip down memory lane. It’s been quite a journey with this man Pres Barack Obama. Sure turned our collective lives upside down with his emergence into the national spotlight.
I sensed his destiny way back in 2004, and more so when I visited Kenya in 2006, just 2 months after he’d been there and hailed with much fanfare. Everywhere we went people were talking about Senator Obama, bars were selling out the beer renamed in his honor — SENATOR
After my sabbatical I came back stateside and told my colleagues when he declared his candidacy in Feb 2007 that he was going to win. Of course everyone in academia thought I was nuts.
Well here we are, in his second term. Quite a journey it has been, and you Chips have made it meaningful, and informative these 3 years, with blissful camaraderie, inspite of the corporate media’s hostility to this Prez.
You have built an oasis, and we are all proud of you for doing this. Cheers!!!!!1
Very sad to hear of Ms. Thomas’ passing. Have watched her over the years since I was a nerdy kid who actually enjoyed watching White House press briefings. She was the template for White House Correspondent.
@StevenTDennis Very sad to hear of her passing. May her colleagues honor her legacy thru relentless pursuit of excellence. RIP Helen.
“We are currently in the midst of celebrating the life and times of the Madiba. I like President Obama came to political activism struggling against our nation’s support of South Africa. I would like to propose a tool the South African people used to great effect, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission except an American one.
The most appealing aspect of this idea to me is that of Truth. We would have stakeholders from say, not just Native peoples, but the issues of a Native person from the plains and from Alaska. We would have not just Asians, but Japanese to speak of internment, Chinese to speak of their experiences in America’s cities. We should have stake holders for everyone to write in an event where all of American history is discussed.
We can discuss the individual experience of every wave of immigration we have been blessed with and finally expose any painful myths laying underneath like how Italian people are seen as mafia dons, or just anything.”
Thank you for this space, Chips.
Congrats Africa.
Hey Carol. Thanks. 🙂 🙂
😉
A pleasure Africa, much love!

Ha, you’re not hallucinating Zizi! This one is an updated version of this:
It’s on my other YouTube channel!
I knew it! It means I was in tune with you even before you ever started this site. Ha! My sleuthing has worked!!!
Um, wait a minute. Was there an even earlier version than this one that ran during the campaign b4 election, and so would not have had the election night pictures? But with same music?
Hmm, I can’t remember making another version before this one Zizi, but my brain’s so rusty I wouldn’t rule it out!

Good day Chips & TODers!
An important recommendation from adept2u at TPV:
