The never ending media attacks on PBO have me in tears. He’s wrong when he does something, he’s wrong when he does nothing. The white hatred of a black man is so obvious from the outside looking in – I wonder if the a..h..s see the hatred of them when they look out. What right wing white men can’t handle is having a boss who is a black person or a woman.

99, I often feel the same way, but one consolation is I know that PBO has the strength and confidence not to let it bother him. He knows it comes with the job and is above it. I loved it when I heard he watches PTI on ESPN at 5:00 and not the gossip coming from Tweety.

        Hi Bill

I just feel sad – I don’t remember ANY other President ever having to cope with such abuse from congress – from the right, from the left – what Clinton faced was a Christmas Party in comparison. As for Bush – they’ll soon be giving him sainthood – because of the color of his skin.

        • July 15, 2013 at 7:25 pm

As you say, there’s really absolutely no comparison. Thank God, PBO has the principles and the demeanor to withstand the constant onslaught of disrespect. He will always be a model of strength to me.

I don’t remember anything similar either, but I wonder if the internet and 24/7 cable accentuate it and give a forum for the crazy haters that they have not had in the past. FOX and talk radio become worse and worse. I don’t know.

The treatment PBO is getting from the white “establishment/media” is no different than how the first black mayor, senator, or how Jackie Robinson or Hank Aaron was treated by the racist in this country.

{{99ts}} Hi, 99ts! Here’s one reason the haters don’t really get to me, other than in brief moments, maybe.

I look at this face. I see his joie de vivre. I see him in action. I know his heart for the country. In this man I see love of family, love of country, love of people the world over. I see leadership. I hate that some hate him, but I recognize that many, many, many more love him. Let the haters wallow in their hatred if they must, but don’t let them mute your joy for long. You are alive to see PBO leading the world in such a purposeful, compassionate and masterful way! Think about that!

Hi all. Just checking in. Will add my two cents about The Dress. I think the big deal is that, of all the dresses to wear, Weiner’s PR people chose the most iconic one of 2012. The image of Miche in that dress is the most retweeted and recognized. By having Huma wear it, they are trying to link the to women subconsciously. Everyone knows that dress. That dress is probably one of the most remembered thing about election night 2012. It’s a free country, but come one, let’s not be coy, they chose that specific dress because of all the connotations associated with it. Michelle Obama has been First Lady for 5 years, how often have you seen other prominent women in politics or Hollywood, wearing her exact dress or gowns or shirts? 🙄 ugh. There isn’t a damned original thing about Weiner and his campaign. If he and Corey Booker are the future of the Democratic Party, god help us.

” I could easily just crank out a full-length piece on David Sirota’s latest desperate, pre-adolescent act of lashing out in the name of trying to get the attention of the adults. But I can’t. I just can’t. I can’t because Sirota really is a sniveling little sh!t who in no way deserves the effort or the copy.”

  8. July 15, 2013 at 7:12 pm

Sirota is a bitter hack, who is really upset that Greenwald is getting some attention these days. So obviously, he has to draw clicks to Salon to show that he’s just as “important.” Neither one of them are, but that doesn’t stop them from throwing tantrums because they’re not getting their “just due.” 🙄

So now we know why this one so wanted to be on the jury – they all said they knew little about the case – laughing out loud – everyone knew lots about the case. The US needs to look at the laws related to trials in Westminster democracies – in my world once a person is arrested – the publicity ENDS. As for televising trials – should NEVER happen if justice is the required outcome.

Now I believe that the prosecutors did not care to really do a good job. Why is it that when a white defendant’s venue is changed due to prejudice like the pops in the Rodney King trial was changed to a white suburb why couldn’t the prosecutor move the venue to a more mixed area. They just did not want justice just a trial to appease the AA community and the family.

That modified picture pretty much sums up David Sirota. He’s desperate to call Pres. Obama the n-word. He can’t do it publicly, so what’s the next best thing for him? Calling Pres. Obama, Zimmerman; who murdered Trayvon Martin and comparing Trayvon to the terrorist Anwar Al-Awlaki.

The murder, trial, and verdict hit African-Americans hard and he’s disgusting for making a mockery of their pain.

Scumbag, jerk, asswipe, douchebag, douchelicker, douchenozzle, and bottom-feeder don’t do enough to convey my disgust. Burn in hell David Sirota; burn in hell.

Exactly. In fact, I would wager that Sirota agrees with the verdict & deep down supports what GZ did to Trayvon, and is trying to distract his conscience by making PBO the scapegoat. Notice how he has not in anyway shape or form directly criticized the GZ defense lawyers and their disgusting reaction to the verdict, the corrupt Sanford PD, or Zimmerman & family.

Instead he has tried to cover for them by putting all the blame on the “US Government” which we all know is a coded term that racist emoprogs and Libertarians use to mean that uppity N- in OUR White House.

Wow!! Just wow. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but if this really is the juror who’s signed with a book agent, then I’m beginning to believe that the prosecution threw this damn case!!!

George Zimmerman Juror B37 Hates Media, Called Trayvon ‘A Boy of Color’

The video above is the entire voir dire of juror B37— the process during which the attorneys question prospective jurors to determine their suitability. During the questioning, the juror, a mother of two who owns “a lot” of animals, revealed the following things:

    – She dislikes the media in general and considers it worthless. “You never get all the information… it’s skewed one way or the other.”

    – “I don’t listen to the radio” or read the internet, she said. Her only news about the case came from the Today show. “Newspapers are used in the parrot’s cage. Not even read,” she said. “It’s been so long since I even read one. The only time I see em is when I’m putting them down on the floor.”

    – During questioning, she referred multiple times to “riots” in Sanford after Trayvon Martin was killed. “I knew there was rioting, but I guess [the authorities] had it pretty well organized,” she says at one point. In fact, despite a great deal of salivating anticipation by the media both before and after the trial, there were no riots in Sanford, Florida.

    – She referred to the killing of Trayvon Martin as “an unfortunate incident that happened.”

    – Asked by George Zimmerman’s attorney to describe Trayvon Martin, she said, “He was a boy of color.”

As usual, I was busy commenting on the last thread.

LOVED Meta’s postings of @LesleyClark’s tweets about tomorrow’s Spanish-language media at the WH tomorrow:

Check out Lesley’s timeline for a few more tweets.
MSM tersely covers this event with a single not-very-informative tweet:

But the joke is on the MSM (which has their collective head in the sand):
“Univision is #1 Broadcast Net For 2nd Consecutive Week and July Sweep-to-Date, Ahead of ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC Among Adults 18-49 and 18-34”

La Opinion is in high demand at my local 7-11 when I stop for coffee in the mornings (mostly young hispanic males). Those reaching for the English-language newspapers are almost all white, older-middle age or older.

Anyone who thinks the media was not complicit in this mockery of justice has their head where the sun don’t shine:

Literary agent Sharlene Martin said she signed the juror—known only as B-37 to the media and public—and her husband, who is an attorney, and the pair will soon try to sell a book about her experience during the three-week, televised trial.

Martin told Yahoo News that the juror reached out to her on the advice of a producer from a morning show. The media has been prevented by a court order from reporting on the identities of any of the six jurors. The juror may publish the book anonymously, Martin said in a statement, “given the sensitivity of the verdict and the outpouring of mixed reactions by the American public.”

    Beyond outrageous.
