That’s what I posted in the other thread. These countries are freaking out about the idea that Snowden could touch down on their soil, so that really says something.

I want to laugh more, but the Greenwald/Snowden/Assange crew have really taken the gullible far Lefties for a ride and gotten some of them ridiculously invested – it’s a little freaky. They’ll probably start up candlelight vigils if and when he’s finally brought back to the US after trying so desperately to avoid trial.

We’ll have to see if some of those who “love” him will vote for him, against everybody’s best interests.

I keep hoping the decent people of New Jersey will open their eyes concerning that Chris Christie. When hurricane Sandy hit all Christie done was his job, he didn’t do anything extra special. He is still a Republican and when push come to shove he can’t be trusted.

The reason why the Businesses implementation of Obamacare was delayed was because a lot of businesses, out of spite were dropping their full time workers down to 30 hours per week.
So, now they have no right to do that and individuals can still sign up for the exchanges.
    It’s brilliant!

Interestingly enough this clip lets us know FLOTUS was ASKED if life in the WH was like a prison, whereas previously from the commentary made by the journo I was of the impression she initiated the comparison. Always good to see as much context as possible. šŸ˜€

Not ‘lazy’ in instances like these, IMO. More deliberative – they have a plan.

Makes sense. It’s just that I’ve gotten so used to using ‘lazy’ as a descriptor, that its become automatic I.e.: idiot Chuck Todd, narcissistic Bill Clinton, disgusting republican, lazy media. But you are right. They are quite deliberate.

    Good Evening Chipsticks, TODer…Everyone!

I have been slowly catching up on all the posts from the past few days. It’s taking a while because I want to go through all the pictures and watch all the videos.

Chipsticks, you and the blog tyrant team have outdone yourselves! Finding and providing links for the live streams, posting the videos for those who missed the live streams, the awesome pictures, the detailed information that helped to explain the President’s purpose for being in Africa, the music videos…. so much to take in. This is the kind of coverage that all U.S. citizens should have access to.

It was so wonderful to see how well our President and the First Family were received by the people in Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania. They showed much admiration and respect for our President and First Lady. The scenes from the visits to Goree Island and Robben Island were soul stirring. On this trip, there were so many lessons to be learned; so many emotions to be felt.

I know I am simply echoing many TODer’s when I say THANK YOU for all the overtime and effort that was put into keeping us up-to-date on the President’s travels. You are ALL very much appreciated.

    Afternoon Obots!

Missus is safely on the plane heading to her ancestral land of… Indiana. I have been napping and am now enjoying a Crystal Light raspberry iced green tea.

I really have no words for the clusterfuck that Snowden has become. It would be quite hilarious if he weren’t doing damage to the US and PBO. (Well, we don’t know how much damage he’s doing. But AQ is trying to change its operations, so there’s that.) I should try to write an essay summing up the Snowden Saga, but at this point I just don’t give a fuck anymore. I feel like this is some huge Ashton Kutcher Punk’d episode, and we’re the victims.

    • July 2, 2013 at 7:36 pm

Hellooooooooooo LL! Good to you hear your wife is safely on her way, what a tough time she has ahead of her.

I’m with you on the Snowden business, it’s unadulterated madness at this stage.

As much grief as the Tennis world gives the Williams sisters, some of them (particularly female players) should be thanking them for bringing attention to the sport, and especially Venus for fighting for equal play for women players.

And as always my undying gratitude to Ms. Chips for providing such an island of peace and brilliance. that’s all.. just feeling exceptionally grateful.

TPM is infuriating. Many times they do great work. And then there are articles like the one on the Administration delaying a component of ACA. Of course, if you read the Treasury Department’s blog post on the reasoning here: http://www.treasury.gov/connect/blog/Pages/Continuing-to-Implement-the-ACA-in-a-Careful-Thoughtful-Manner-.aspx then you see that it is in fact a very thoughtfully reasoned out explanation. Jesus. I think I need a vacation from Teh Stupid.

But, they know this, they are in cahoots with big business and look for anything to twist for bad news for Obama.
It has only happened 10 million times since he has become President! šŸ™‚

don’t know, LL. we waited for implementation in order to get businesses in the system. On first look, it looks incompetent. We lose revenue. Individuals still have the ‘burden’. Explain the upside to me.

      • July 2, 2013 at 8:52 pm

The thing that’s not being implemented is the penalty, as businesses were complaining that the reporting requirements were too complicated. Much like the Admin took the 21 page application and whittled it down to 3 pages, they’re taking the extra time to get this right. This is the biggest expansion of the social safety net since the 60s; there are going to be hiccups. And getting businesses on board is key to successful implementation.

          July 2, 2013 at 11:39 pm

oh! the requirement still exists, just not the penalty. not the way the emoprog radio host made it sound during my commute after work. Thanks.

          July 3, 2013 at 1:31 am

I’m not sure you’re correct on this. I’m reading that it’s more than just the reporting, that the entire provision to provide health care for larger businesses is suspended for a year.

          http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2013/07/02/white-house-delays-employer-mandate-requirement-until-2015/

They’ve had three years to figure it out. I’ll reserve judgment until there are clarifications; but unless it’s clusterf*** reporters getting it wrong, the reporting is that the the employer mandate is not in force until 2015. But individuals are expected to comply, without any of the relief that employers are expected to step up as well?

Hey, from my conversations with my best friend who is an HR V.P. , she thinks all employers should get out of the health care business, where their choices for employee health care have nothing to do with the health care of employees. In the absence of single payer, affordable, available health care for individuals is a better way to go. But that’s not how this has been sold to the public. There was to be a commitment from individuals AND businesses.

We’ll have to wait and see what the situation really is. However as the evening progresses, the administration will have to play catch-up in explaining this.
