I can think of many unspeakable things we should make mandatory before prescribing Viagra. And let’s limit the doctors who can prescribe to two per state, and you have to go and stand in line for hours to get your pills.

And you must wear a T-shirt that says, “I’m an old fart, I can’t get it up and I need little PILLS.”

You need signed and notarized waivers from any and all sexual partners that you will support and raise any babies you make. And if you are an old fart with a partner past childbearing age, YOU’D BETTER PROVE WHY YOU NEED THOSE PILLS ANYWAY.

Anyone care to add what humilitating, unnecessary conditions we can place on men’s choices?

You have pretty much covered it, 57, just want to say it seems to me male sexuality is the root of many of the dysfunctions we see, not just in our society, but worldwide. Now this is NOT to say all men, and not every man fits under this category, but I do not hesitate to say the majority do. If men were taught to take more responsibility for their own sexuality, we would not be needing birth control, nor would we be having lame discussion about forcible rape and crap like that. It all falls onto women, maybe starting with poor old Eve, back in the garden.

The use of sex to oppress and enslave women has been true of our human legacy, unfortunately.

Methinks the story of Adam and Eve was written by a male misogynist anyway in order to enshrine the woman as evil.

Governor Valdemort and his cronies really must go!

    • July 1, 2013 at 5:19 pm

Republicans are just rotten to the core. We have to remember that and act accordingly. My mother used to vote at a polling place where the lines were always ridiculous. There were attempts to get cooperation from legislators, but it didn’t work and it isn’t going to work now. They organized and here’s what they did:

The elderly and people who needed to leave because of work or children were allowed to vote soon after they arrived. They supplied chairs so people could sit, water and snacks. And you know someone hooked up a television. 🙂 It took the cooperation of everyone, but it worked. The experience created a bond that changed the community.

We have to stop worrying about those underhanded Republicans and figure out how to do what we need to do. They’ve thrown up barriers all our lives, it’s up to us to figure out how to get around them.

Exactly! We’ve had our few days to wring our hands and shake our fists at the clouds. Now it’s time for strategy on how to get enough people to vote, past all of their un-American hoops.

If a person has a strong undergraduate degree in liberal arts, a little worldly experience, and a strong sense of curiosity it might be a good program.

It just struck me as hilarious. How more idiotic can these ‘journalists’ get?

I get your point, however: someone who has a knowledge of history, current events and other important skills, could learn the precepts of journalism and apply it to a career. Journalism has become a disgusting shadow of what it should be.

Oh Dudette, that’s soooo much work. Isn’t there a drama on USA Network or something that can show them how to pretend to be journalists in 38 minutes, plus commercials? I wouldn’t want to take them away from Honey Boo Boo or something important like that.

    • 114 yardarm756
      July 1, 2013 at 5:30 pm

This might be an improvement over what’s out there now.

    • July 1, 2013 at 9:00 pm

Journalism is a dead profession. You only have to be easy on the eyes, read fairly well, a high school grad or GED, and KNOW someone (that means you Luke Russert) to get a job for a so-called news network.

      • 116 57andfemale
        July 2, 2013 at 10:59 am

I read awhile ago that journalism curriculums are full of marketing classes. How to market yourself.

Science writers used to actually know something about science, enough to not jump to ridiculous conclusions when covering scientific studies. Political journalists used to actually know something about history, politics, current events.

        Dead profession. Sigh.

agreed. i just stay focused on the fact that she would a horrific candidate who cannot, repeat, cannot win a national election. contrary to what “the news” and purity progressives are always belching, there’s a huge difference between her and president obama in terms of policy, people she surrounds herself with, leadership style, vision for the future, and how to re-activate a sense of civic duty in america.

if she runs, which i don’t expect she will, and gets the democratic nomination, i’ll vote for her in the general but it would be a wasted vote since she will not a nationwide election. that’s why we need to make sure she doesn’t run first, and if that does happen she doesn’t get the nomination (again), since she represents backward, not FORWARD!

      • 126 Bill
        July 1, 2013 at 5:23 pm

I agree with much of what you are saying. Who would you like to see run?

        • 127 4morefor44
          July 1, 2013 at 5:35 pm

senator elizabeth warren is my #1. perhaps the most vocal and consistent supporter of president obama in the senate, and is able to fire up huge crowds, and the perfect person to represent this idea of FORWARD. but like others always say here, i’m much more interested in 2014 midterms and getting pelosi the gavel back. i only respond when the hillary question comes up because it’s others trying to force her upon us yet again as inevitable, which gives me this sickening feeling of deja vu all over again, and i want to stop that train as much as i can. the clintons, “the news” and her supporters are the ones bullying this into the discourse (they were starting within a week of president obama’s reelection for crying out loud), and distracting from 2014 and “dividing” democrats with it, and i feel they should stop it right now. 2014 is too important.

Good afternoon TOD. Don’t think I will be able to catch up on all the news today, have been camping for 4 days and on my way to a family reunion tomorrow. I am so glad I will be able to follow on my droid but no reception while camping., it was wonderful. Looks like the Presitdent and family are having a wonderful trip to Africa. Thanks to all who are doing the jobs our msm refuses to do.

UT, so exciting to see the “Stand with TX women” campaign. We must fight back. This is all getting to much.

Once again, thank you Chips and all your wonderful blog tyrants and everyone who participates. This is where we come to get the news.

Stay cool everyone, it’s 101 in MT today.
