Eek. I was going to go back to your comment that day/night but forgot (see what I mean about the attention span?). Anyway, the only thing that worked for me last year when I started “just doing it” and got exercising, was to stop telling myself not to … and only because I was finally at the point where I WANTED to. So, if you’re at that point, you’ll know it – and I thought you said June 30? Ha! Just teasing you.

I’d say follow the money, the greed of many of their corporate owners who are Republican shills and operatives and wealth grabbers. Then follow other sins among the list of the “seven deadly sins,” like envy and sloth. Then follow the racism that some of them won’t acknowledge. That’s a start, but I really have no explanation, either.

      • 46 nathkatun7
        June 29, 2013 at 9:35 pm

The only explanation I can think of is: the media collectively hates President Obama. I remember reading some interview with NBC’s David Gregory in which he basically confessed that the media dislikes President Obama.

Ha! If this were Twitter, I’d have posted me comment by now! But while I was starting a comment on the previous post – and “ran off” to find a link – you started a new post, Chips. And a lovely one, at that.

Does anyone have any idea of the background behind the fabric of the dress the First Lady was wearing in this venue, where she expressed well wishes for Nelson Mandela? It just struck me when I first saw it, that the design reminds me of the cross-hatches of prisoners scratched on cell walls, counting off the days of their imprisonment, as Nelson Mandela may have done. I may not be correct about that, but it seems nothing she does is left to chance, so thought I’d mention it.

      • 99 arapaho415
        June 29, 2013 at 7:50 pm

This is really the most fascinating (delicious) saga imaginable.

First the MSM jump in with both feet, hailing Greenwald the superstar and Snowden the whistleblower.

It takes awhile, but Snowden via his own cowardice, plants seeds of doubt with the MSM.

Joe Biden, worthy successor to Teddy Kennedy, charms the pants off the Ecuadorian President.

MSM then start back-biting, race-baiting, showing their true colors.

Meanwhile, our cool-as-a-cucumber President is barely lifting his hand to dust off his shoulder.

        Love it.

        • 100 jacquelineoboomer
          June 29, 2013 at 7:56 pm

I love it, too! The President also relegates Snowden’s importance to that of a young “hacker” (even though we know a lot of hackers can do a lot of harm, but I still thought it lessened the impact).

      • 101 jackiegrumbacher
        June 29, 2013 at 9:29 pm

Totally agree, JOB. I hope all the lines have been traced by now and our intelligence people know who’s behind Snowden. Snowden himself can spend the rest of his life in an airport or rot in hell for all I care.

    Evening Obots!

This is the first time I’ve been on the computer all day. We’ve spent the day arranging travel for the missus. Her sister is having brain surgery on the 10th, and the missus is flying out to help her and her dad. This will be the first time we’ve been apart for years. I’m just hoping everything stays calm and boring here on the home front so that she can focus on her family. So starting Tuesday I’ll be a gentleman bachelor for almost 3 weeks.

Hmm…I don’t find it odd any that Madsen once held the very job that Snowden had. A contractor for the NSA during the Reagan & Bush Sr. years. I’m willing to bet that snowjob got that position thru some previous GOP contact. It’s all beginning to make sense. Now GG denies that he knows anything about Madsen, but he’s probably lying (When does GG ever tell the truth?).

      • June 29, 2013 at 8:20 pm

I keep saying it Hopefruit, there is sooooo much more to this story, as you suggested, but so few reporters, with the resources, to actually go after the truth. We’re largely dependent on bloggers now to dig through the lies, which says it all about the MSM.

Bette Midler got this right! I’ve been closely following, the supposedly sane and reasonable Conservative, Justice Kennedy. He has no problem being reasonable when it comes to gay rights, but he is very hostile, and sometimes aggressively hostile, when it comes to protecting the rights of the poor or the rights of non-white people.

      • June 29, 2013 at 10:28 pm

Randi Rhodes talked about this this week. She says that the SCOTUS rulings were all about removing power from the Federal government and giving more power to the states. Plus, just think about it. Gay rights cost corporations and the GOP nothing. They simply rankle their base. But voting rights pose a real risk to the GOP ability to win elections, and threatens their ability to keep redistributing wealth from the muffle class to the top 0.4% They could care less about actual civil rights.

  31. June 29, 2013 at 8:23 pm

We’ve been asking those questions and many more since the ‘story (aka acts of treason) broke.’ Given AG Holder’s penchant for detail, I think it safe to assume that lots of folks have already been deposed.

    Justice will be done.

    • June 29, 2013 at 8:41 pm

      Bob,
I would rather Greenwald be humiliated by his trumped up/false hackery and be forever known as a shoddy blogger than have the AG go after him and have him considered a martyr for the cause by his cultists and the uninformed masses. Even behind bars he wouldn’t shut up. David Gregory and Piers Morgan and the other nitwits would be advertising every week their “exclusive interview blah blah blah Greenwald.”

    • 135 jackiegrumbacher
      June 29, 2013 at 9:36 pm

I’m sure they have been deposed and the Justice Department knows a lot at this point. It’s amazing to me that the WSJ just gets around to asking the question that all of us thought of on day 1. Who’s behind this? Who paid for it? It’s as if our msm is weighted down with anchors of stupidity and can no longer think beyond its nose, or, more likely, is afraid to do so.

I am lost, re: the Observer story? What was it about that they have to remove it from their site? And who is this guy that is supposed to have been source, etc.? Thanks.

    • June 29, 2013 at 8:43 pm

Wayne Madsen, a RW conspiracy theorist was cited by the Observer as the source of a new NSA related leak. Everyone who knows Madsen knows that his credibility is less than 0. He is a true nut birther, antisemetic, etc – said that Jews were behind 911, and that PBO’s Kenyan birth cert was found by GOP operatives, and that PBO worked with the CIA to get him elected in 2008.

Observer & Guardian are owned by the same parent Co and they share a website.

    • June 29, 2013 at 8:44 pm

Hiya Africa, the Observer (The Guardian is its sister daily paper) used the nutjob that is Wayne Madsen as the source for a HUUUUUUUGE NSA story, but then on being informed, it seems, that he’s a conspiracy freak, they removed the story from their website. But ….. it’s on the front page of their paper tomorrow.
