With that, I am off to pick-up my son from the college after his 1st semester final exams.

He gets a 4-day break before his 2nd sem starts. Got to find some work that’ll break him in the next 4 days. Otherwise, he will just laze around.

Have you the almighty power to access pending/spam comments and approve/delete?

I honestly have *NO* clue if you do.

This is BRUTAL take no prisoners assessment. Couldn’t include some quotes, Bill Clinton had Dick Morris apologize for DOMA!

When Sullivan has a similar post decrying the loss of the VRA protections then he may be worth reading again. DOMA was very dear to his heart – as is the RC church – anything else he doesn’t give a damn.

    So, tonight’s menu:

Tilapia, marinated in a chipotle lime sauce, pan fried in good, healthy olive oil
Asparagus, red onion, and mushrooms, seasoned with garlic salt, pepper, and oregano, sauteed in same olive oil
All washed down with, sighs, lemonade.

I’m having a bbq on the 7th, and I *will* have some of the sangria I’m making.

Ok, if you have a significant other, he/she needs to start learning how to cook. If not, we need to find you a nice chef with whom to spend quality time. Because at present, we have no teleporter technology so that I can send you food.

        • June 27, 2013 at 11:23 pm

LL, my significant other is a worse chef than me, but I don’t mean to be too unkind about Japa.

What’s with the Luddite-ish approach to this teleporter business? Get it done – like, now.

I’m sorry, I can’t be bothered with sussing out the known laws of physics. I’m lost in John Cleese Youtube clips which will make it into tomorrow’s night owl chat.

sounds lovely LL.; might I suggest Grape seed oil or sesame oil as they remain more stable at higher temperatures, vis-a-vis olive oil?

This is totally O/T but I saw a headline in our newspaper few minutes ago: Ophthalmologists Walk out of Obamacare Meeting so I clicked on the story and it was a video from Fox Business and Stuart Varney’s show. That gave me a quick clue. 🙂 I watched a bit at the beginning and his guest was Dr. Kristin Held. So I decided to Google her. I am including just the last paragraph of what I found.

Presently, Dr. Held is involved with preserving the sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship and the noble profession of medicine. As a physician advocate for responsible patient –centered healthcare reform, Dr. Held serves on a task force of physicians who have actually read the newly passed healthcare act and has presented her findings in Washington D.C. Her comments have been heard on the Sean Hannity Show and the Cavuto Show as well as locally on 550 KTSA. Dr. Held is committed to providing each patient with the best possible individualized, innovative medical care available. Dr. Held invites you to visit the website docs4patientcare.org for more information regarding the healthcare act and what doctors around the country are doing to preserve the doctor patient relationship. The doc4patientcare’s mission statement is “We are an organization of concerned physicians committed to the establishment of a health care system that preserves the sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship, promotes quality of care, supports affordable access to all Americans, and protects patients’ freedom of choice. We urge patients and physicians to get involved in order to preserve the good qualities of our healthcare system, address the problems, while preventing its bureaucratic destruction.” Outside of medicine, Dr. Held’s love is her family and the outdoors. She and her husband David have four daughters, Holly, Heidi, Hayley and Hannah, and a son-in-law, Kendal.

BTW, she is from San Antonio.

If patients can’t afford the health care, then how does she plan to offer it to them? Thse people are just stupid and selfish and possibly evil. How do they square these dangerous opinions with their Hippocratic Oath to “first, do no harm”? How do they sleep at night? I have to work very hard to stop myself from wishing evil things to befall them.

I’ve been drinking a little tonight so please forgive my language but President Obama got these motherfuckers on the run, they don’t know whether to shit or holla. Motherfucking al qaeda don’t even stick their heads out of the house anymore. President Obama is cold ruthless and brilliant and that black skin of his really fucks them up. I’m so glad he told everybody that “he won’t be scrambling jets to get some twenty-nine year old hacker.” but what he really meant was fuck Snowden and all you motherfucking libertarian assholes, if I wanted that motherfucker I’d send somebody to bum-rush that fucker.

I’m going to make a bold prediction: the 2014 World Cup may be the event that breaks FIFA’s back. Brazilians are more than pissed off that their still developing country is imposing taxes to spend billions on the WC and the Olympics. And today, as Brazilians are being tear-gassed (what say you about that, Gigi?), FIFA announced its official champagne for 2014. It really is a vile organization.

Rambling as usual on the last post so missed the live call! Of course as soon as I recollected myself, rushed to the bottom and saw the title I knew who the author, or instigator, was! 🙄 Totally in keeping with what I had been rambling about. 😀

    • June 28, 2013 at 1:11 am

My daughter spent a few weeks in Burkina Faso. Her host mother made the girls beautiful skirts and tops. One of them was a print that had been specially made for International Year of the Woman. That had been a big event there; I’m ashamed to say it mostly passed me by. But it was interesting to see cloth printed especially for it. I think it had actually been the year before, but she saved some specially. This dress reminds me of it. I thought it was an interesting use of fabric design-making a topical political statement.

Pretty Cool Stuff: Obama was playing pool at a bar midway between Madrid and Barcelona. Obama wrote that the man, who did not speak English, bought him a coffee and they traveled to Barcelona together, communicating in broken Spanish.

Somehow I posted the Immigration tweet instead of just the ‘easier to buy a gun than VOTE’ tweet before adding the tweet to @OFA.

In any event, please help OFA realize the exceptional messaging opportunity the have by using the meme “easier to buy a gun than to VOTE.”

find it ridiculous that cry-baby orange man Boehner is threatening the nation about not bringing the Immigration Reform Bill to a vote.

Why aren’t we calling him out that past events have demonstrated that he can’t control his own caucus so these are empty threats.

he probably will be running to Speaker Pelosi for help – he is just a punk with empty threats
