Chips I want you to look at what the first tweet said to the POTUS?

    Such disrespect! Man!!

  5. June 24, 2013 at 6:51 pm

A Must Read: “…Obama’s statecraft in Syria may look less like indecisiveness and more like a Machiavellian strategy that cannot be described in the usual idealistic vocabulary presidents employ to describe their actions on the world stage….Firefighters would call that strategy the “let-it-burn’’ approach….is having a debilitating effect not only on the Assad regime but also on its allies, the clerical regime in Iran and the Lebanese militia Hezbollah….But for now, they are spending down Iran’s dwindling reserves, while bleeding and being weakened in a war that could persist for many more years.”

An Aeroflot flight has just landed in Havana and CNN is waiting to see if Snowden is aboard.

  10. June 24, 2013 at 6:58 pm

I just read Gigi’s self-serving interview with Greg Sargent. My, what a bunch of hair-splitting. He says that Snowden didn’t reveal his identity until May. So we’re to believe that Greenwald worked on this blockbuster without doing the slightest bit of vetting. Sure, gigi, sure.

  11. June 24, 2013 at 7:01 pm

Oh wait..nothing about hero Snowden? Nothing at all?!?!?

Chips, he actually said that he felt great on the amount of food the SNAP program allowed him to purchase. He said he gained weight!!! not noting of course that the food he could purchase would have been mostly processed, with a high sodium content, causing water retention and of course weight gain.

A WikiLeaks guy told Wolf that they would tell us where Snowden is within the next couple of weeks. As for now he is safe and sound. He would not comment on the four computers.

He’s quite the little arrogant sob isn’t he… he FEARS inhumane treatment?? Its called PRISON fool. This effer seems to get the benefit of the doubt by every white media mouthpiece.. and yet we plant non-white folks into prisons thousands of times a day across this country and no one but their families are weeping for them. No sympathy for this nonsense.

I love how our president just keeps moving forward, handling all of the various parts of the people’s business and leaving the crazies behind. Do not think for one minute that he and the various members and agencies that make up the national security team are going to let Snowboy and his enablers get away with anything. ‘The nature of the presidency is that one must be able to do more than one thing at a time” he said during the 2008 campaign and he has more than shown that he is the man to do so. PBO has this.

  22. June 24, 2013 at 7:19 pm

Why Gigi’s “I didn’t know Snowden’s name” story is just laughable:

Even Bob Woodward and carl Bernstein knew who “Deep Throat” was, but chose to protect his privacy. This is the first time in my life that I’ve heard a supposed journalist claim that he published what was billed as a “bombshell” without knowing the real identity of his source. If Greenwald ‘s claim is truthful (which I highly doubt) that he published classified information from an individual whose name and identity he didn’t know, then he, along with his editors at the Guardian newspaper, are guilty of irresponsible journalism.

The senate Vote count is 67 Yaye and 27 Naye for the CIR bill

The final vote tally was 67 to 27, with 15 Republicans voting in favor. Several senators, including at least two likely to support the amendment, missed the vote entirely due to travel delays and other issues.

Republicans who voted for the amendment included Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Jeff Chiesa (N.J.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Dean Heller (Nev.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), John McCain (Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Roger Wicker (Miss.). Wicker said although he voted for moving forward with the amendment, he is still likely to vote against final passage of the bill.

Snowden’s goal appears to be helping repressive regimes appear to be the victims at the expense of the national security of the U.S. The thing that makes ZERO sense to me is why anybody on the left or the right would cheer this outcome. It’s just out-of-control hatred of our POTUS.

    • June 24, 2013 at 7:29 pm

For the folks who suffer from ODS – whether they’re on the left or right, it trumps everything.

      • June 24, 2013 at 7:33 pm

I have seen comments on other blogs and tweets where people are twisting themselves into pretzels trying to save face. They were wrong. There’s no shame in admitting that. But that hate.

      You are absolutely right, Meta!

“The intelligence community is already seeing indications that several terrorist groups are in fact attempting to change their communication behaviors based on what they’re reading about our surveillance programs in the media.” “It is possible that the United States will be attacked because terrorists may now know how to protect themselves in some way or another, that they didn’t know before”

I stand by what I said when this started: Snowden is a cowardly traitor. If he had been honest, and had truly wanted to do some good, he would have taken his laptops to Congress and asked to speak in front of a Congressional committee, to try to correct what he saw as an evil. Face the people who started this.
He is obviously a child of privilege if he can think there’s been any infringement on his rights, or thinks that the U.S. gov’t is infringing on our rights. He has NO idea. He will find out what infringement on rights truly means if he is in Russia for more than an hour.
I lived through the entire cold war…..beginning to end. I remember all the tension, all the fear, all the spying. He has no idea what that was like. Frankly, I hope the FSB put him through hell in their debriefing. How he can do this to the country that nurtured him and gave him all these opportunities shows him to be a liar and a traitor. I just have no words for this.
The Russians have a LONG history of secret police, from the Okhrana during the Tsars….the KGB during the Soviet era, which has evidently morphed into the FSB now, but it’s the same. Putin is like Stalin, not Gorbachev.
We will hear all sorts of stories and pronouncements now, and our press will bite. The older press learned what to do with Soviet, Russian announcements….don’t trust, but verify…..two, three, four times. Today’s press is just plain ignorant. They need a good schooling, and so do Greenwald, Snowden and others.

Laura Poitras gave an interview to the NY Times where she says she was contacted by Snowden in January. Snowden had tried to contact Greenwald but couldn’t get him to respond. Poitras set it up via encrypted emails which Snowden insisted on. He chose her because she was on a fly watch list, knew her politics on civil liberties, and few reporters know encryption. The film documentarian accompanied Snowden to HK. So now we know Snowden was planning this since before January. This is going to go further up than we know right now. A GED, a falsified background check, months of planning, a job perfect for carrying out that plan, selected countries which have shaky relationships with the U.S…..not at all coincidental.
