How is any kind of life possible for him there, or, does he suppose he will be treated as such a celebrity that the Ecuadorian govt. will take care of his every need in perpetuity. Aside from the temporary satisfaction of snubbing the US, what does Ecuador hope to achieve? Snowden’s information is by now old hat. and every day he becomes more worthless as an information source. Even those paying Snowden will soon realize that he’s outlived his usefulness and at that point, he’s going to be safer in a US jail.

So, decided to wake up late. Put on BBC World while making coffee, and just heard that Snowden is in Moscow. I’m so glad he chose a country with a long history of free press and no spying on its citizens.
I suppose I should look it up, but I’m too lazy. 🙂 I was in S.S. at the end of 2010 (I think September) and there was a revolt in Ecuador because of austerity…some kind of coup. All civil liberties were suspended, the military was put in charge and borders to Peru and Colombia were closed. I don’t know how long it lasted. I guess Snowden can go there and further his career.
