I doubt it, considering he was so anti-Hillary back in 2007-08. I think RIGHT NOW, the corporate backers have decided that Hillary is the best best for their financial interests – she will maintain the status quo of economic inequality, just as Bill did, and push back any regulation that PBO implemented. But just as the corporate backers wanted Romney and got a nice heaping spoonful of STFU from the public, it may not be the cakewalk for Hillary that many anticipate.

Actually…….brings back fond memories of Germany. When we visited our Army son in 1990, we were in Wurzburg, and Steve saw some German polizei just standing on a corner. He stopped dead still, and almost started shaking. He just said “Polizei! You don’t mess around with them!” I know American GIs were told not to get in trouble.

This reminded me of a comment a friend from northern VA said to another good friend there. This second friend mentioned told me what the other friend said about PO. Afternoon. Home safely from my weekly visit with my mother. Was listening to Rev. Al and he finished his show today with a major rant about something we talk about all the time here–a different standard for this President as opposed to the previous Democratic presidents. He called some people out and laid everything on the line. He’s “sick and tired” of the goal posts being moved and the completely different standard for this first AA president. He invited “those people” (didn’t say the name, but listening with my third ear, I heard Clinton) to come on his show and talk with him/debate him. I was cheering loudly! 🙂

I have seen Angela Merkel smile more this weekend and today than at any other time. Pundits kept talking about how she and PBO didn’t have a “warm” relationship. Today, that meme has to be put out to pasture. I believe that they have over the past four years built their relationship in a step by step way……no looking into each others’ souls, as GWB did with Putin……that was silly. Here we have two adults working for their countries and trying to work together.
I read somewhere today they have a deep respect and admiration for each other.

Former CIA agent Valerie Plame said Wednesday that she views NSA leaker Edward Snowden as neither a hero nor a traitor, but that Americans should be grateful that he brought the conversation about liberty and security to the national forefront.
“I don’t think [Snowden’s] a hero, I don’t condone what he did. At the same time he’s certainly not a traitor as he was called by Dick Cheney,” Plame told HuffPost Live host Mike Sacks. “In a way, we as U.S. citizens owe Edward Snowden a thank you for having brought this issue to the forefront and so that we can begin to have a serious and genuine conversation about these issues.”
Plame also rolled her eyes at Cheney labeling Snowden a traitor, given the Bush administration’s involvement in leaking her identity to columnist Robert Novak.
“The irony of people like Dick Cheney or Karl Rove whining and bemoaning the fact of the leak of intelligence — given my history and certainly Dick Cheney’s intimate involvement with the betrayal of my CIA identity — is really something,” she said.
Plame called for the resignation of Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, saying that “as a former intelligence officer” she finds it “astounding” that upwards of 60 to 70 percent of the United States’ intelligence budget is spent on private contractors.
“One question might be, ‘Why hasn’t the Director of National Intelligence Clapper resigned?’ He is ultimately responsible for the safeguarding of these secrets,” she said. “How do you propose to keep secrets if you have that high a contracting force? Where is their loyalty? It’s not necessarily going to be to their country, to the United States, it’s going to be to the person writing their paycheck.”
Plame said she has “great respect” for journalist Glenn Greenwald, who broke the Snowden story, saying “he has written eloquently for years on these issues in a very serious, sustained manner.”
She added that she believes the conversation should focus less on Snowden and more on the questions he raised, since “his fate is already foregone.”
“He will be abused, he will be punished,” Plame said of Snowden. “Perhaps he could have done it in a different way, but that’s not the conversation we should be having.”

He just did a report on Berlin——all photos and vids were selected to present Obama in an unflattering light—-showing him sweating and wiping his brow, constantly showing the bulletproof glass in a glaring manner as he aired Reagan saying “Tear down this wall”, showing the audience fanning and sweating, saying it was a scant crowd compared to Obama’s last appearance there (without explanation), said no chants this time, saying he got hostile questions from German press etc. etc. And then wraps it up by saying that the Obamas leave for another trip—to Africa—in about a week. And he smirks through it all. I think he’s the most disgusting, disingenuous reporter. How he got that position at NBC, political director, setting the tone for all their political reports, no college degree, no journalism degree—–I have no idea.

Bailey was Todd’s mentor until Russert hired him at NBC. Todd must know how to play the corporate game. We all know people such as Todd.
