You did, TrumpDog? I’m just seeing a big black sq. Maybe it takes a little time to roll over here? I was used to instant posting. Thanks, let’s see what happens. I promise not to try again, that wouldn’t be savvy! LOL!

What is interesting is that President Obama has raised everyone’s stature. The Russians are being made to vocalize their support for questionable entities, like Iran and Syria – so we all know where they stand and what they value. Europeans are having to account for their policies, and they are being made (to some degree) to pay some share in the military costs of policing the world. China is being brought into the top shelf, but also being made aware of the responsibilities that come with that status. Africa is being encouraged to become entrepreneurial and to reject corruption. Of course, I’ve oversimplified the state of affairs. There’s still a long way to go, but (nearly) everyone is facing forward. And the US isn’t posturing as the only important player on the world stage. Baby steps, but important steps.

theo67 – If half of our country even understood what you meant, much less appreciated the value of it, we’d be a hell of a lot better off! Thank you for expressing this so well.

Bob – Keep these summaries up until 2017, okay? No, really, they are masterful, especially since you take the time to send them to the “cc” folks!

How did mainstream media get the NSA PRISM story so hopelessly wrong?

By Ed Bott for The Ed Bott Report

    ———————————————–

Summary: Last week’s bombshell stories by The Guardian and The Washington Post accused some of the biggest names in tech of willingly working with the NSA to give up your data. It now appears that those stories misread the technical details and got the story wrong.

Please excuse my language, in advance, but how did our “news reporting” become so fucked up that first the erroneous reports and analyses are put out, and then there are the denials and real proof of what’s happening issued, and then the endless stories about how the media didn’t report it correctly are brought forth, all within a week or so, and then we move ahead to the next screw-up.

Tiring, to say the least. Time-wasting and fucked up, in this week’s recap.

DONALDSONVILLE, La. — Authorities say one person was killed and several injured in an explosion at a Louisiana chemical plant, only miles from where another blast killed two plant workers a day ago.

Louisiana State Police Capt. Doug Cain said one person was taken by helicopter to a local hospital and several others were being treated for injuries following Friday evening’s explosion at a CF Industries facilities in Donaldsonville.

Cain said the local sheriff told state police that there had been one death.

Cain said a fire sparked by the explosion was quickly extinguished.

CF Industries’ website says the plant can produce roughly 5 million tons of nitrogen for agricultural and industrial uses annually.

On Thursday, an explosion at chemical plant in Geismar owned by Williams Companies Inc. killed two workers and injured dozens of others.

Good info from Facebook’s legal counsel on what they provide to law enforcement
    portion of it:
With more than 1.1 billion monthly active users worldwide, this means that a tiny fraction of one percent of our user accounts were the subject of any kind of U.S. state, local, or federal U.S. government request (including criminal and national security-related requests) in the past six months. We hope this helps put into perspective the numbers involved, and lays to rest some of the hyperbolic and false assertions in some recent press accounts about the frequency and scope of the data requests that we receive.

I wonder if the creator of this vid is working on another anytime soon?
