Michelle Obama Is Strong, Super, And Spectacular

************

First Lady Michelle Obama might just have won the week with her perfect response to the rude heckler. She let the rude heckler know she is a woman, she is a human being, and she is the First Lady of the United States. In honor of this fabulous, brilliant, and magnificent woman, here’s a sample of female anthems by other wonderful women.

Absolutely, Judith. This woman who heckled the First Lady, in a private fundraising event, could have easily gone to her after her speech to express her concerns. Her and her colleagues purposely went there to embarrass and disrupt the First Lady’s speech. Now she is trying to play victim because the First Lady refused to be bullied and disrespected.

So apropos!! Especially since I’ve been obsessing on this song all week! Been living under a rock but just found out about this whole thing 10 minutes ago and you better believe as soon as I read up on it , I rolled my neck, snapped my fingers and said: “YES!” Nobody comes for Michelle Obama, she sends for you, honey! What?!?!?!!!!! Okay!

Our First Lady is totally deserving of every respect and admiration. So glad that I’m alive to know her presence and example in our world. She did good by restoring dignity to that event yesterday.

Indeed, Michelle O is the epitome of ‘woman’ IMO. I was tempted to send this tweet earlier today as part of the twitter chatter, but after writing it out I thought, ‘You know what, it doesn’t apply’.

** FLOTUS is a balanced, AUTHENTIC individual, not a political china doll. Emotions (including anger) are a part of the package.

FLOTUS wasn’t angry. She simply said she didn’t wish to spend her time in the manner of the heckler’s choosing, and she offered her the mike, and the audience a choice. I feel extremely proud of her whenever I picture the scene. I have always been angered when people heckle the President while at the same time being proud of the way he responds, but ‘I’ve never been prouder’ (not really true) of FLOTUS than when I first heard about this encounter. You show Mika what self-respect looks and sounds like, Mrs. O!

Very well said VC! People there had a choice. If they wanted to listen to heckler they were absolutely free to do that. What was unacceptable to her, and to me too, was for them to sit there silently and let the heckler interrupt her speech. thankfully the people chose to listen to the First Lady. Like Jay Carney said, FLOTUS’ response to the heckler was “brilliant.”

  12. June 5, 2013 at 9:13 pm

Damn! It was just a few days ago I was commenting on Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, who reports say may inherit upto 49 million dollars from her late mother’s late husband’s estate. I was saying that sadly enough, the death of Anna Nicole may have been in hind site the best thing for the lil girl, cause the people surrounding Anna Nicole Smith did not seem to be good people, so maybe being raised by her dad was the best thing for her.

Then I read about Paris Jackson and her apparent suicide attempt and I’m just wondering if the opposite is true of the MJ kids. Seems to me that Micheal kept his kids away from his fam and the paparazzi for a reason cause I just have a feeling that if those kids were still with MJ, then the turmoil those kids have been embroiled in since his death wouldn’t be a factor.

Damn. A freakin meat cleaver!!!! Prayers for Paris and the rest of the Jackson family

Hey guys. Hope everyone I’d doing just fine. Great announcements today. I am going to be vindictive and say that there are some people who should be choking on their bile right the f#…now. My Mother used to say, “If it ain’t one thing, it’s two.” In a taxi, on may way to the airport to take the next flight to NY. Learned my daughter rushed to hospital. Only had a chance to begin piecing together a narrative for AG Holder based on the fantastic info made available here. Of course, I have my laptop, but can’t promise I’ll be able to finish, so if someone wants to take up the task, I will be pleased as I feel it should be done asap…the vultures are circling.

I knew Alan Grayson was no hero to the Democratic left. He’s a panderer. This is the only thing he’s ever pushed for in the House, and this is what he chooses to support? Conspiracy theories that the government is out to drone its citizens? Ridiculous. Meanwhile, people go hungry, jobs are still not a priority for Congress, and the President is doing all the heavy lifting himself.

      • 55 jackiegrumbacher
        June 5, 2013 at 10:02 pm

Grayson became a darling of the emos, who practically tore their garments in grief when he got defeated, but I’ve always believed him to be a complete phony. It’s all about Alan Grayson, not the welfare of Americans.

    Hello everyone,

Thank you so much Chips, UT, LL, and LP for everything that you provide here. I can never, ever stop thanking you.

FLOTUS is a Phenomenal woman…that’s her.

A verse taken from “Phenomenal Woman,” Maya Angelou for FLOTUS.

    Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
    When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
    I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
    The bend of my hair,
    the palm of my hand,
    The need of my care,
    ‘Cause I’m a woman
    Phenomenally.
    Phenomenal woman,

        June 6, 2013 at 12:09 am

Yes, I thought of the same poem by Dr. Maya Angelou today. I also thought of the beautiful role model that our First Lady is still displaying at all times for our First Daughters.

FLOTUS will always be our First Lady in history, but more importantly, she will always be the beautiful well grounded and proud Mother of Malia Obama and Sasha Obama. Those facts no heckler can drown out.

So those in this country who still cannot get over the fact that this President has done more than any President in our history for the causes of the LGBT community so that all of our brothers and sisters have equal rights. Look in the mirror tonight before you retire for the evening and ask yourself :”Who did the most for me and my partner to have the current opportunities to live our lives with a little more respect and freedom, and fairness?.” I do believe the name will be President Barack Obama, the 44th President of these United States.

Yes, I am again upset because of the disrespect to this POTUS and FLOTUS; but I know deep within my heart., he is the best President this generation will ever know. And they need to sit down and take an honest inventory of the facts and not operate on yelling, being rude, and demanding when this President has and will continue to do his best to make things as right as he possibly can. Chill the hell out is what I have to say to the person who acted like a fool last evening.

Now, I am going to sit and read and sip on my glass of wine. My heart hurts.

Love you so dearly, Chips, and I am so grateful to UT, Lovelyplains, LL, and all of the beautiful and brilliant TOD family for your excellent work here. (((((((((( Thank you.))))))))))

Gobrookly, (((lots of loving healing hugs to you))), Lisa, FayPax, and all of our beautiful family members who are healing through this journey. Let us keep our spirits in a joyful space so that our souls can carry the love for our First Family and the Administration. HZ

I think it has to do with domestic terrorism plots. The FBI was the requester shortly after the Boston bombing. The Order is April 25 to July 19. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a non-story and the Order has been voided. Or there is still a real threat; one of the two.

  29. June 5, 2013 at 10:00 pm

I have a question for all of you. I was talking to my friend’s husband today and he told me the President signed an agreement giving Monsanto rights to mess with our food. I always see all these posts on Facebook talking about Monsanto and GMO’s and he acted like the President was siding with Monsanto. I know what GMO’s are, but I don’t know anything about how the President is supposed to be giving Monsanto rights to do what they want. Anyone know anything about this?

    OK, CALLING ALL BOOK LOVERS!

Okay, so I have a Kindle. I love my Kindle. I have beaucoup books on my Kindle. I have both Bridget Jones novels on my Kindle. So why come I bought the paperback from Amazon last weekend of both books (and pre-ordered the 3rd novel coming out in October)? Well, because with all the love I have for my Kindle. There is NOTHING like holding a book in your hands and turning the page yourself. NOTHING like “dog-earing” or placing a bookmark between the pages of a book than if you love books like I do, you miss as part of the book reading experience. So yeah, when I saw the UPS sticker on my door letting me know that my books had arrived, I got beaucoup excited and I got this feeling of satisfaction and I can’t wait to start reading ’em.

I have several Kindles but I also have a home library filled to overflow with books to hold in my hands, mark, dog-ear and love. While ebooks are a nice convenience and a way to have access to all forms of media (some books come only in ebook format), they cannot beat the sensory experience of holding a book in my hands.
