Congress don’t have time to do any thing which might benefit Americans, they are to busy pushing fake phony scandals.

President Obama is 100000%. There is a tremendously dysfunctional disjoint between what We the People deserve and what Congress feels is crucial. Which is to say, their own survival. It’s disgusting to work for and vote for the issues we believe in, only to be obstructed by the minority in the Senate and the crazy idiots who jerrymandered themselves into supreme power.

Had not heard this anecdote before: Mind Blowing….

“In the days after the Sept. 11 attacks, the Bush administration made clear to the world that it had the Islamic Republic of Iran in its sights……
So it was with shock (and with something like the opposite of awe) that, seven years later, the newly elected Barack Obama learned that the Bush administration had never even drawn up plans for attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities. Obama discovered this when he asked his generals for their plan, and they had none. Bush had never asked for one. The bellicose rhetoric on Iran, in other words, was empty of substance.”

      Excellent, LP!!!

      Push it!!

#TrustBarack He Prepares Before He Acts

      • May 29, 2013 at 10:08 pm

I thought there was nothing else that could shock me about the Bush administration….sadly I was wrong!

        • May 29, 2013 at 10:13 pm

Assure you, LP, if we had access to all the data you would not only shocked but repulsed beyond even your worst assessment of that steaming pile of inhumanity that GWB & Cheney & their gang of plutocrats represent.

          • May 29, 2013 at 10:17 pm

I bet we could get access to all the records at the new GWB library……Oh ya, nevermind…….they whitewashed his whole presidency.

            • May 29, 2013 at 10:38 pm

What they didn’t destroy, they’ve buried for decades, for sure, LP.

What characterized the GWB/Cheney reign of terror, more than anything else, was their lack of any IT sophistication.

i.e., I think the first sentence can be modified in a valid way as “What they think they destroyed or think they’ve buried for decades …..”

In that context, what has impressed me more than anything is President Obama’s restraint.

At any moment in the past 4+ years, he could have revealed the actual travesties of GWB/Cheney in a way even a dolt would find outrageous.

His restraint is a testament to his dedication to preserving, protecting and expanding the promise of America.

If folk were forced to face the reality of GWB/Cheney, unfiltered in anyway, it could very well be calamitous, nationally & globally.

              Just my opinion, of course.

Standby Lootenant. Things might get interesting with the new nomination for head of the FBI. His history if it comes to light will make a lot of roaches run.

Reposting from end of last thread:

Red states strongly support background checks
New PPP polls in Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee find that even in dark red states there’s strong, bipartisan support for expanded background checks. And as we’ve found elsewhere, voters are unhappy with their Senators who voted against them…

    And what’s up AP?

I don’t follow them, so I don’t know if this is a typical tweet of theirs (what is the -CJ at the end of the tweet?)

It’s very annoying that this wire service basically presents President Obama as a pinata for any paid GOP flack to go after WITHOUT countering with Senate filibusters, the fact that the House voted against voter wishes and that the House is in session around 100 days out of 365. (I ke tcould go on, of course, but just showing what little effort it would take to squeeze a fact or two into an article that presents our President as a frustrated failure.

    Despicable.

I have been so busy with work and my granddaughter’s graduation, I have not had time to keep up with some current events. Has there been any outrage at all over McShame’s visit to Syria?

Subject:: Exercise for people over 60

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of
    room on each side.
With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out
from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach
a full minute, and then relax.
Each day you’ll find that you can hold this position for just a bit
longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb potato bags.
Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where
you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms
straight for more than a full minute.

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

Is that the lady who dunked the basketball? I heard a snippet of this story this morning, and thought that’s what I’d heard.

          • May 29, 2013 at 10:33 pm

You are thinking of Brittany Griner, formerly of Baylor University….she had 2 dunks in her first WNBA game yesterday. I am speaking of a man who was signed to David Beckham’s old soccer team in L.A. last week. He had previously retired 6 months ago, after coming out. Now he is part of a team again!

Yardarm posted this on the end of the last thread.

I know nothing about Comey, but love the strategic maneuvers made by our President.
“Back in March 2011, Comey was in line for the same FBI post. The Associated Press detailed how he threatened to resign from the Justice Department over Bush’s warrantless wiretapping program. That stance placed him as a revered figure among Democrats who were against the practice, the wire service reported.”

Was hearing some angry gay groups are yanking their support for democrats. Can’t say I’m surprised but I can say I am very disappointed in these groups and have to ask myself how dumb ideologues really are.

Now that they’ve got what they want, they could care less about anyone else? I have a friend at work who’s gay and Republican, and I just look at him and shake my head. For some people, money and material possessions are more important.

(Reuters) – President Barack Obama will discuss cyber security with Chinese President Xi Jinping during a meeting in California next week, as Washington becomes increasingly worried about Chinese hacking of U.S. military networks.

The meeting will take place on June 7 and 8 at the Sunnylands estate in Rancho Mirage, Calif. PBO will be in the Bay Area to fundraise on June 6th.

Attn Yardarm, Arapaho, and Bobfr…..continuing on our colloquy up thread on Bush, this FBI nom’s resignation letter is something to behold

He prepared it after Bush/Cheney tried to do an end run around A.G. Ashcroft, when he was hospitalized…This man was acting A.G. and was willing to give it all up, until GWB acquiesced. Says it all…….

    SIMPLE TRUTHS………

    SIMPLE TRUTH #1

Lovers help each other undress before sex.

However after sex, they always dress on their own.

Moral of the story: In life, no one helps you once you’re screwed.

    SIMPLE TRUTH #2

When a lady is pregnant, all her friends touch the stomach and say, “Congrats”.

But, none of them come and touch the man’s penis and say, “Good job”.

Moral of the story: “Hard work is never appreciated.”

THE FIVE RULES TO REMEMBER IN LIFE

    1. Money cannot buy happiness, but it’s more comfortable to cry in a Corvette than on a bicycle.

    2. Forgive your enemy, but remember his/her name.

    3. If you help someone when they’re in trouble, they will remember you when they’re in trouble again.

    4. Many people are alive only because it’s illegal to shoot them.

    5. Alcohol does not solve any problems, but then neither does milk.

    AND A BONUS RULE:

Condoms do not guarantee safe sex; I heard about a person who was wearing one when he was shot by the woman’s husband!
