Chips!!! I looked more closely and noticed that you were able to ‘interview’/research quite a few prominent journalists, pundits and news makers. 😆 😆 😆

      You. Are. Priceless!

Hay guys let me give you something else to think about, a third of George Washington professors believe our President should end up on Mount Rushmore. I remember talking about this before and I recall saying POTUS deserve a Mountain all to himself.

      • 22 MightyPamela
        May 28, 2013 at 10:34 pm

While an enitire mountain to himself might be a bit lonesome for a people person, like PBO, it is a good idea. Certainly, Mt. Rushmore has had my vote since the day he announced his candidacy. Are these professors serious enough to get some energy behind making this happen? Never mind PBO always says his ears are too big for Mt. Rushmore, that can be managed in the design! There are not many ears in the images anyway! 😉

P.S. If ya do this again (there will be more lipstick on PBO’s collar, we know that), please put lipstick on that blankety-blank Jake Tapper’s collar in that photo, honey bunch, because it’s just sitting there waiting to be greased. I cannot stand Jake Tapper, in case I haven’t mentioned that before, and I need the comic relief. Love, Me

Oh, JOB, if you can still “jitterbug” you’re not that old. Even if you still want to, you’re not that old. When you stop caring or even remembering Connie Francis well… hmmm.

One of his most cherished goals, he said, was to see the United States attacked using explosives laced with radioactive materials: “A dirty bomb for a dirty nation,” as he put it.

  16. 34 Jovie
    May 28, 2013 at 10:28 pm

    See that?
Merkel is the one that is holding Europe from doing any stimulus. Her and Cameron are cut cut cut and small government all the way.
    They are awful!

    • 35 jackiegrumbacher
      May 29, 2013 at 7:50 am

Doesn’t Merkel ever face the electorate? Seems as if she’s been there for a long time without a challenge.

      • May 29, 2013 at 8:20 am

There are elections this year actually, only our election season is a little more…quiet 🙂 America is quite different there.
Also, it is very difficult to compare Europe to the US when it comes to stimulus etc. Thing is that Germany has a good economy, whereas some other European countries don´t. And what Merkel does, as i see it, is tie stimulus to certain programmes of saving money and cutting down with spending. Which i think is perfectly legit, because so far it´s us that bail out countries like Greece who have had their people retire at 55 and wonder why they go bankrupt. 🙂

        • May 29, 2013 at 8:24 am

A little point added: Merkel´s political standpoint overall is a lot closer to the Dems than it is to the Repubs. And quite frankly, if I give part of my tax money to bail out Greece, then i think they need to learn how to use their money a little better. Because this is not just a financial crisis there, this is bad management over quite a while. It´s like me refusing to lend mone to someone who i know will blow it. If they reconsider and start making better choices: sure.
Btw, no offense intended to anyone 🙂

          • 38 jackiegrumbacher
            May 29, 2013 at 9:22 am

Thanks for the perspective, niliathiel. As a point of interest, does Merkel have any serious competition in the elections?

          • May 29, 2013 at 9:30 am

That’s a fair point. I think it’s a matter of degrees. Germany does have a good economy but austerity overall has not been a good thing for Europe. Should there be strings attached to those countries asking for money that have mismanaged their economies? Sure but as the President has said on so many occasions it has to be a balanced approach. Cutting severely with no plans for growth is a recipe for trouble.

MP, I think you’re not alone in not recognizing who these people are. Because they have a certain prominence in the DC beltway, these guys over estimate their importance. One more note, as I wrap it up: while doing the washing up earlier, I saw out the kitchen window a lovely hummingbird, hovering, checking me out, and of course looking for food. It is always exhilarating to see them, and this one was particularly interested in the remaining quince blossoms, some of the comfrey, and what is left of the mock orange. I worry what they will find to eat, and will it be enough… Then I remind myself birds have been on Earth much longer than humans, and will continue to be here long after we are gone. That gives me comfort! Goodnight all! Sweet dreams, Hugs and Healing all around!

I thought he looked like he had lost a little weight but when I seen him with his jacket off throwing footballs with PBO I don’t think he has lost anything. BREAKING: Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann Says She Will Not Run for Re-Election in 2014

Just peeking in…couldn’t sleep. Didn’t want everyone to have to listen to this talk, so I found this on DU and posted…I’m assuming this is what she says in the video? Is she going to quietly slip into oblivion and live a quiet life with Marcus, content to rake in taxpayer $$ with their “business”? I’ve never seen a more phony, ignorant person in my life. “Heller, Ayotte, Flake slammed for ‘deception’”
By Steve Benen – Tue May 28, 2013

Republican Sens. Dean Heller (Nev.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), and Jeff Flake (Ariz.), were among the 45 senators who killed a bipartisan bill on expanded background checks…seem eager to pretend they didn’t kill the proposal.

Over the weekend, the New York Times editorial board blasted their collective “deception.” Rather than admit that they fearfully follow the dictates of the N.R.A., these senators are instead seeking to fool voters by supporting measures with fancy titles and hollow cores.

The point is that these three — and only these three — feel compelled to mislead their constituents in a coordinated way, cynically hoping that public ignorance will allow them to get away with their vote. It’s about putting a smoke screen — emphasizing support for “strengthening” background checks through half-measures that won’t pass, instead of “expanding” background checks in real legislation — that confuses voters just enough to let these three senators off the hook.

The rhetorical games are tiresome and unnecessary.

I’m not sure I’m happy about this. She almost got defeated in 2012 and things were looking bad for her in 2014. I wonder if the GOP forced her to retire because they are afraid to lose the district in the next mid-terms.

I’m glad she’s gone—-she was a poison—–every appearance shouting craziness, shrieking about making Obama “a one term president” and recently about impeachment. Good riddance to that unhinged tea partier. And the Dem Jim Graves came close to ousting her last time, has name recognition and popularity and is running again, has a good chance to win this time.

She is Not running for president. She did that and failed woefully. She will never run for senate for the 6th dist is the ONLY district that could elect her in MN……it is the most conservative dist in MN. Bachmann Never had a statewide appeal. Most of her Millions raised were vastly by those outside the state of MN.

It has to be one of 3 things.
