She is just so wonderful, our FLOTUS. Admire her tremendously- and will love her forever for her gifts of kindness and care to all of the children she has hugged. There has never been a POTUS & FLOTUS like this before, I am so grateful for them.. and for our VP and Mrs. VP- all very special, loving/ nurturing people. Real grownups.

They’re attacking the efficiency of government, researching where to attack it’s 800k employees next.
Today, the House Judiciary is investigating Holder for lying under oath.
Also, 45 Republican Senators(all of them) sent a letter to US Supreme Court wanting to rule unconstitutional all the recess appointments this president has ever made and invalidate all work.
What will tomorrow bring? A look into all Government Janitors and their broomsticks??

Issa just subpoenaed 4 current and former Hillary Clinton staffers re Benghazi emails….the same 4 who were named in a politico article. This is such b.s. and the media is just playing along….this is the same Issa who said the Obama admin was the most corrupt admin in history, that was 2 years ago.

They’re very aggressive! While the president and his team is implementing Obamacare, they’re implementing in how to destroy government.
And if we don’t go vote in 2014 they might be able to get one big entitlement program off the books, and it will never come back.
So, we have to go us on 2014!

  9. May 28, 2013 at 6:35 pm

I don’t why I still let these things annoy me, but they do…..

Just saw a CNN video on YouTube: ‘Gov. Christie schools Obama in football’

    (1) Schools? Was it not just a bit of fun?

    (2) Why is it ‘Gov’ Christie but not ‘President’ Obama?

I think the Obamacare rollout and the debt ceiling debate coming up will change the news cycle. These are important issues, right now the beltway is struggling to stay important. They all like attention in the beltway, attention means money!!

    • May 28, 2013 at 6:40 pm

It’s a huuuuuuge bugbear for me LP. I can understand networks abbreviating YouTube titles, but giving Christie his title in this one, but not the President, looks pretty damn deliberate to me. It sounds petty, but I think it says so much.

        • May 28, 2013 at 6:55 pm

My dad gets mad at me….I get so riled up watching newscasts when these anchors pull this crap, and I start yelling at the television. My thing is, if media does not respect the office of president, then the viewers will follow their lead…It’s my biggest pet peeve as well Chips!

      May 28, 2013 at 8:26 pm

Chipsticks, I understand and share your annoyance about the media’s petty racism. It’s as if it pains them to address him as President. I also remember reading an article in my local paper, the day after President Clinton’s speech at the 2012 DNC, with a headline: “President Clinton strongly endorses the re-election of Obama at the DNC” Initially I was furious, but after I calmed down I reflected on the media’s pettiness. Whether they like it or not, President Obama is the 44th President of the United States. The entire world knows he is the President of the United States. Disrespecting him will not change the current reality or the historical record.

Some people come into your life and they are like leaves on a tree. They are only there for a season. You can’t depend on them or count on them because they are weak and only there to give you shade. Like leaves, they are there to take what they need and as soon as it gets cold or a wind blows in your life they are gone. You can’t be angry at them, it’s just who they are.

There are some people who come into your life and they are like branches on a tree. They are stronger than leaves, but you have to be careful with them. They will stick around through most seasons, but if you go through a storm or two in your life it’s possible that you could lose them. Most times they break away when it’s tough. Although they are stronger than leaves, you have to test them out before you run out there and put all your weight on them. In most cases they can’t handle too much weight. But again, you can’t be mad with them, it’s just who they are.

If you can find some people in your life who are like the roots of a tree then you have found something special. Like the roots of a tree, they are hard to find because they are not trying to be seen. Their only job is to hold you up and help you live a strong and healthy life. If you thrive, they are happy. They stay low key and don’t let the world know that they are there. And if you go through an awful storm they will hold you up. Their job is to hold you up, come what may, and to nourish you, feed you and water you.

Just as a tree has many limbs and many leaves, there are few roots. Look at your own life. How many leaves, branches and roots do you have? What are you in other people’s lives?

THANK GOD FOR YOUR ROOTS! You may want to call them today or share this message with them and attach your own note saying, “thanks for being my root”.

By the way, don’t waste your time sending this to a leaf, they won’t get it anyway.

Sorry Folks. Yesterday, as upset as I was at McAngry, the lazy, lame right leaning Media, I had totally forgotten that in Mar or so of 2007, Speaker Pelosi and a group of other House members traveled to Syria. All the TBGOPers invited withdrew before the trip and GW Bush, Righties of all persuasion, Media, etc came down heavily on Ms Nancy Pelosi accusing her of overstepping and undermining our Nation’s foreign policy.

Somehow….the same outrage was Not applied to John McCain? I will post a few links to remind folks. I had forgotten all about it until an hour ago at a dinner table and the discussion led back to John McCain and in unison, we collectively remembered the 2007 Trip that Speaker Pelosi had taken.

And have a ton of stuff to do at home, so visits will be very sporadic. But of course this is the post at top and I immediately joined Yardarm on the naughty mat.

Still pissed off at the media response to the whole AP affair and Rosen situation. First of all the AP isn’t being charged with anything and Rosen, from the looks of it, was not performing journalism but colluding with some to make the government look bad and exposing critcal classified info.

    So anyway:

    • May 28, 2013 at 8:03 pm

Evening Japa! I’m with you, I think the reporting on the Rosen story has been beyond belief, even from people I usually respect (eg Sargent) – the moral of the story seems to be, ‘no matter what my media colleague gets up to, I’m on his/her side’. The Mediate piece on Rosen was eye-watering, ie his belief that he could influence US foreign policy with his carry-on, but it’s hardly been picked up at all by his media buddies. That, without a question, is the real scandal. And as I mentioned before, Smartypants’ post with info linking the Kim guy to neo-cons … that should be the story of the year. But? Crickets. It’s stunning.

      • May 28, 2013 at 8:06 pm

There was more coverage of a negative nature of the Bush administration’s outing of Plame. But they still jumped to the defense of Miller. Yet some of the same people who are complaining the loudest now on the left were saying there shouldn’t be protection for someone who outed a CIA agent. Maybe because Plame is a good looking (quite) blonde white woman and the outed people in both these cases are unknown and definitely not white.

Either way, as my tweet below says, there are reasonable times to shield an informant’s identity, but other times definitely not. And Rosen’s action I equate with treason.

SALT LAKE CITY β€” A Utah woman gave birth to a healthy set of quintuplets over the weekend with help from a team of eight doctors, one anesthesiologist and dozens of nurses ensuring the mother and the tiny babies survived.

Guillermina and Fernando Garcia’s five babies – three girls and two boys – weigh between 2 and 3 pounds each and are expected to stay at the University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City for another six weeks. Doctors predict they will grow up completely healthy.

You, who worry about Democrats versus Republicans — relax, here is our real problem.
In a Purdue University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications to be President of the United States .. It was pretty simple. The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.
However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.
The class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, “What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one born by C-section?”
Yep, these are the same kinds of 18-year-olds that are now voting in our elections! They breed, and they walk among US…
Lord — we need more help than we thought we did!

This is a good thing. I have never understood why there were barriers against proving one’s innocence…even when they had credible evidence. How did they ever determine that such an idea could be perceived as just?

Remember the good old days with Ballon Boy and PETA getting mad at our President for swatting a fly?
    Ahh, the good old days…

If I am not mistaken, FLOTUS suppose to be in Boston tomorrow for some Democratic event. I wonder who won the chance to have lunch with FLOTUS and Sen. Warren. Also FLOTUS suppose to visit some Boston Marathon survivors . Any info on this. And POTUS will be going to Chicago, when?

There’s something about the first picture that really gets to me. FLOTUS offering that young boy a sniff of fennel…enlarging his world, encouraging him to use his senses to explore his world. That to me shows a wonderful mother, teacher, caring for all children. That young man will remember this event all his life, and his life will be enriched. I love her expression……great seriousness and care.
