I went to Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University back in the 80’s, so I am very glad to see my President showing the respect that HBCU’s deserve.

MTP mentioned the CNN poll but only to say his approval rating is pretty good, then he said that inside the poll the public agrees with the GOP and showed the numbers.
And that’s what is called propaganda to the fullest.

  9. 20 Jovie
    May 19, 2013 at 10:46 am

MTP had 5-2 republicans /Democrats talking about the controversies.
And now we get to hear from, wait for it…, Donald Rumsfeld.
    Oh Brother.

I like it when the opposition appears on these shows. There will be no better opportunity to combat their narrative. I get annoyed when the host and others fail to push back.

Question for the techies. I’m sitting outside with the laptop and a cup of java, a fruit/veggie smoothie, and some Greek yogurt. It’s sunny and bright. Too bright and I can’t make out the white print on the TOD black background, because of the reflections and sunlight

A few weeks ago, I thought someone here said that there’s something on Firefox that allowed you to change the background or something. If anyone knows how to to do this, please advise. I want to enjoy the weather and TOD at the same time this morning.

I’m quite the novice so any explanation at the elementary school level is much apreciated.

“Pressed for more precise details about the memo he was referring to, Paul said he hasn’t seen such a policy statement but has heard about it. ”

That about says it all. Paul at this juncture knows he can say anything and his base (as well as emoprogs) will believe it.

        May 19, 2013 at 1:43 pm

This memo is in the same vault with the “Whitey” tape. The vault is located in the inner cortex of the Republican mind.

      May 19, 2013 at 11:24 am

If it is one Rand Paul wrote it.

    • 52 nathkatun7
      May 19, 2013 at 5:06 pm

“Rand Paul claims revealing memo exists in IRS scandal -”

This means that the Republicans are busy creating a false memo to pass to their favorite media person, just as they did with Benghazi
      e-mails.

Margaret Mitchell author of Gone with the Wind Trivia.

The institutionalized discrimination in her hometown was “an embarrassment to her,” says Andrew Young, civil rights leader, U.S. congressman, United Nations ambassador, mayor of Atlanta, and filmmaker. Young’s most recent documentary, Change in the Wind, confirms the long-suspected existence of a friendship between Mitchell and McDaniel, and speculates it influenced Mitchell’s extraordinary—and often unrecognized—financial support of traditionally black Morehouse College.

At first, eloquent pleas for help from Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, president of Morehouse, went unanswered by Mitchell and instead were politely rebuffed by her husband, John Marsh. However, as the famous author struggled, often unsuccessfully, to find adequate healthcare for beloved family servants Annie Rector, Carrie Holbrook, and Bessie Jordan, she became indignant over racial disparities in medical treatment and other basic services. Eventually, she developed an affectionate correspondence with the legendary Mays and became one of the college’s most generous patrons—anonymously funding the medical educations of dozens of Morehouse graduates.

Forced myself to watch David Schuster on Reliable Sources when I saw his tweet … Howard Kurtz now has a total deer-in-the-headlights look in his eyes, which he deserves. The awful, awful Jennifer Rubin was a guest, and she did not like how David took her down. Gotta get something to bleach out my brain now, after seeing that miserable woman.

I’m watching on whitehouse.gov and this is oh so wonderful to see. Does anyone know when/if PBO gave a commencement at any other HBCU since he’s been in office? If not and though I’m partial to Howard Univ, it is fitting that Moorehouse is the first one. Strong man encouraging strong men.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Whitehouse already knows who leaked what, and I’m sure right about now the leaker’s ass is puckering up something fierce knowing that he or she is about to be exposed.

      May 19, 2013 at 5:39 pm

May be it’s just me, but I am more concerned with the media peddling lies with the intent of bringing down the President. Jonathan Karl must answer why he claimed he was quoting from the actual WH e-mails instead of saying he was quoting from a source. It was Karl’s report that gave credibility to claims about Benghazi cover-up and ignited a media firestorm. Jon Karl is supposedly professional journalist. The fact that he blatantly lied should be grounds for firing him, or, at the minimum, demoting him.

How cool is it that he is from Ethiopia, and acknowledged so proudly the President of the United States of America, whose own dad was born in Africa? I know! that was deep. I wish those who don’t think he is giving FLOTUS her due because he didn’t ‘look at her right’ or some shit would just examine their own shortcomings and stop projecting onto him. This man is all family all the time!

Lying on your death bed, the fine cars, fine house, all the fine clothes, the money in the bank won’t mean a thing. But what will, is how you treated you fellow man/woman, how you treated you family, those you love.

Hope you’re right although given Michelle Crazy Eyes claim that every day her constituents ask her why Rethugs haven’t impeached the President yet, I doubt the GOP is going to give up these “scandals” without extracting any blood from the administration.

      We’ll see.

🙂 I said upthread this is a Republican CYA moment. They will NEVER learn that when you do things like this (lying!) to take another down…it will find you, bite you, and make you look like the lying fools you are. I hope this ends up drowning them all.

I’m reminded of what Joe Biden said at the DNC: “this man BURNS inside”. Barack Obama is a “no drama” guy, but so many people make the mistake of thinking his calmness means a lack of passion. In fact, he may be one of the most PASSIONATE presidents America has ever had. There is an intensity about him that is so evident, when you really pay attention.

And he’s no ordinary politician. He’s a STATESMAN. Too bad that the Beltway is so caught up in a culture that view politics as a game; they don’t GET IT. They don’t understand the man; will they ever?

      Yes LP…

This speech IS personal and PBO was passionate and heartfelt…often the critics say that they feel that it is only in front of Blk Audiences that he raises these issues of Family…manhood and fatherhood….

but he raises these issues …because it is PERSONAL…when he is front of an audience such as today…he is not only the President/but he is a Blk Man as they are…they share a kinship…a common road traveled…and perhaps a common destiny…as was his comments about the skinny kid with a funny name……I feel his passion….his love of the people and the country…

      Truly Magnificent Man…is our PBO….

Historic and all the other adjectives one can possibly think of. For me, it’s hard to frame this in the right words to capture the essence of what he said. This is one you have to hear it yourself. That way you can take away what it means to you on a personal level. It struck so many areas, that would be relevant to many, but in very different ways.

Word to the wise … move away from any additional cable news punditry coverage of anything political for the rest of the day (if you can! if you can’t, I understand!).

I am so tired of all these trumped up scandals. First of all, I feel that the Administration was correct in waiting to release the 100 pages of emails in the Benghazi matter. They gave these Republicans enough rope to hang themselves. I do feel that someone needs to expose this IRS scandal as a biased witch hunt. The IRS targeted liberal 501 (c)(4) groups too. – but there were far less groups on the democratic side. An honest investigation is warranted.

      yanno Jackie….

the MSM has been outed as the scandal mongers as they have become….with exception of a few…they have lost creditability…

esp since ABC will not reveal the source of the doctored emails

      • 260 Lovepolitics2008
        May 19, 2013 at 1:25 pm

At least those divas in the media are highly competitive. I bet CNN, CBS, NBC are working like crazy to find the republican(s) who doctored the e-mails and gave them to Karl. Wanna bet this is the main preoccupation of the Beltway crowd this coming week? Instead of the shrinking deficit, the victims of the sequester, Syria, etc… ?

        • 261 prettyfoot58
          May 19, 2013 at 1:31 pm

We shall see what happens with that…even if they find out….the question is will they reveal who it is
