Count me as one of those who only watches Rev Al and Lawrence everyday. Lately, I have not watched Rachel’s entire show. I don’t know why MSNBC thought that the viewers wanted more of Chris Hayes bouncing up and down in his seat.

I can’t stand that little smart arse.
And as for Rachel Madcow. I have been trying to understand what is so smart about this woman? Rhodes Scholar, my arse. Have met so many people who are smart on paper , but nothing else going for them…..nothing. She comes across insecure and all over the place thinking out loud making no sense half of the time. I have been done with MSNBC so long ago and MSM period.
BBC is the only news I will ever watch. Cable is a joke. I am tired of paying for BS.
PBS will always get my donations.

      • May 16, 2013 at 11:49 am

I’m on the west coast, so only watch @Lawrence in real time.

I like Rachel when she reminds of historical reference (with access to NBC’s archives, her team has access to a treasure trove of history that the older folks have forgotten and are new to the younger viewers).

I see her guest list on Twitter so know what her show is going to be about, and yes, for the last few weeks, it’s mostly been about how she can dig into some crumbs to criticize the President.

I wish Dems would remember the possibility of an R-money (shudder) presidency and put President Obama’s actions into perspective.

With the exception of @Lawrence (and it sounds like Rev Al) everyone in the MSM is stuck in their echo chamber and promoting the MSM narrative of OMG-scandal!

WTF IS THIS “MAYBE” CRAP?!? so tired of that zombie lie. yes, incessant nonstories like rev. wright, william ayers, birth certificate, benghazi, and countless others are clearly “covering” for president obama. i’ve resorted to laughing in the faces of people who ever utter those things in my presence now, or at the first mention of “soros,” and think i’m starting to lose some long-time “friends” and relatives by doing this. it’s so far opposite of the truth that i finally concluded that anyone who cannot see this, should not be in my life. feels really good, by the way when breaking those ties.

Yoo hoo, kathryn kivett!!! I’m sorry I missed you on the Rise and Shine thread. I hope you’re still around. I know I could have just replied directly to you, but since you asked me openly, I’ll respond here. Bear with me here, cause I am not a person of a few words.

Whatchootalkin’boutWillis? I have never said what should or shouldn’t be discussed. I’ve simply noted that there is a tendency to get all bent out of shape when the MSM goes bonkers……again. I am a visitor on Chips blog called The Obama Diary. Ironically, there seems to be more posts about the MSM’s poor treatment of the facts, than about the good news that this blog’s namesake has accomplished. I wonder what a word cloud would look like if done on the last few day’s threads.

I’m a positive person by nature. I choose to look at the positive in any circumstance. Negativity is contagious and when it’s presented ad nauseam, all it does is feed the frenzy. Remember, we are political junkies, keyboard commandos, who are 24/7 aware of the political landscape. Most people are not aware that Tweety or Joe spittled or raved against something or other. Someone said yesterday that their neighbors would think Benghazi was a new restaurant. When I bring some injustice or other to Mr. cookeman, he goes, “something musta happened with Obama, right?”, then he continues with whatever he was doing. My kids, knowing my strong support, will ask out of kindness, ‘so what’s up with Obama?’ When I try to tell them, they go, ‘Oh, OK’ then back to what they were doing. You see, they support him as much as I do, but they are not as emotionally invested. Some are so emotionally invested that they are willing to denounce known supporters who happen to disagree with some policy PBO has in place. That is not fair, and again it unnecessarily causes folks to get all ‘wee wee’d’ up.

Mainly, my objection is to what I call the ‘drive-by’ MSM hit job. That’s when someone will post something like, “Rachel is an azz” or ‘Elizabeth Warren came out against PBO!’. Then several folks will chime in with stuff like, “She’s a Biotch”, ‘Never trusted her’, kinda stuff. No link, no information, just post and sit back and wait for the denouncements to begin. I happen to prefer that if there is something said by someone, at least post in its entirety, or provide a link. I form my opinions based on as many facts that I can get. I go off into cyberspace and anywhere else to gather info so that I can make informed judgements. I appreciate it when political stuff is brought to my attention. I appreciate it more, when it’s done with objectivity. But that’s one of those ‘different strokes’ kinda thing.

There are some here who do bring a reasoned response to the MSM (I’m looking at Donna Dem). Within the post is a call to action, a solution, or an alternative way to view the issue at hand. Others just throw the jabs, raise the roof, and the temperature…. period.

It amazes me how many people say they no longer watch the MSM, then post what some cable person said word for word.

I like your list of things to talk about. You may have been attempting sarcasm, but I’d add two others:

I LOVE the cooking and home improvement shows! I’m a big fan of Chopped and all the Chef shows. I can make a 5 tier chocolate cake, a chicken casserole to die for, all while building a deck and erecting my own outdoor electrical fence.

Heck, I’ll even add Housewives of Tasmania, and Honey Boo Boo, before I get caught up in the cray cray of the cableheads.

Finally, we’re all on this site for the same reason, we support PBO. I enjoy the TOD family. Like any family, we may not always agree with each other, but we see pass those disagreements for the better good of the family. Do you take offense to my approach of trying to quiet the savage beast that the MSM tends to cause here? Don’t answer that, because you should know that none is intended.

PS: I happen to like Mark Knoeller (sp). He’s the only one who will tweet about PBO the person, not PBO the President. He lets us know what PBO is up to on a personal level. I like knowing he’s enjoying himself on the links. I like knowing PBO rubbed Bo’s ears on the way to the gym. Knoeller is probably the least political person in the WHPC. His angle is different than the rabble rousers.

You asked. I answered. You decide.

Well done, a reasoned response, ‘to each his/her own’…..and in many fewer words at that. I am OK with some pundits when they are truthful. I am not OK with them, when they’re not. What I won’t do is perpetuate their nonsense forever and ever. In my mind, that just gives them unearned credentials as having an influence when none is deserved. I think everyone here knows who the bad eggs are. We are already supporters of PBO. We contribute and lurk here, because we support PBO. What do I gain as a supporter to constantly hear what Tweety said, that Rachel disagreed, that someone on MSNBC broke wind? Wouldn’t those comments be better served by posting on sites or tweeted to the folks who need to know, lest they fall victim to the non-stop cable chatter? At the very least, do those type comments have to take up an entire thread?

I’d rather watch ‘How to build a birdhouse with a built-in oven’, courtesy of HGTV, so that I can serve them baked suet, courtesy of the Food Network, than to punish myself watching folks who do nothing to further my political knowledge.

Now that’s an insult to Blanche Dubois. Although, the image of McCain calling ‘Stella!’ is a delicious image.

That was to the Lefties like Bill Press, Joe Capantino(sp), etc.

TBGOPers would always hate……so that is a given.

The subtle bigotry from these people drives me bonkers. Like Chris Rock said once……so did Pryor…..too…..those who opening spout racists views…..are preferable…….I am paraphrasing than those who twist in the winds and pretend support while using a sharp blade pushing the cut deeper into the heart……..Painted sepulchers…..I call them.

Don’t answer this (don’t wanna know; I’m already scared), but was I just in an alternate universe?

I like watching coverage on the wider screen, so I had the press conference on my TV, and kept flipping back to the WH website. Why did I have to flip back and forth? Well, CNN – which sometimes even uses the word “International” in its coverage – did its own flipping back every time the Turkish Prime Minister was speaking and being translated.

So, in order to keep what seems to be their own personal freakin’ English-Only pledge, or not let RWNJs know that people in other countries actually speak other languages, nobody exclusively watching CNN got to hear the other side of the press conference. ‘Cause when the Prime Minister was speaking, Jake and that Gloria humanoid were “translating” what President Obama had just said. Luckily, I caught the PM’s translation on the WH website. And, now, I shall be tweeting CNN about their FILTERED coverage. It’s sad, really.

Just figured out they’ve figured us out. Usually, if I turn on a cable news show strictly to watch the President, I turn it off immediately after he’s done speaking. So, looks like CNN has figured out that if they catch us during a press conference – and blot out the other guy, no matter who the other guy is or how much we’d like to hear what he/she is saying – we’re hooked. Well, no, that’s what Mr. Mute Button is for.

Back cheerily now to the universe the rest of us live in, eh?
