See, they know what works to get attention, to feign outrage and suck all of the energy. Why oh why can’t Dem’s find their OWN way of taking control of a narrative?

And please don’t tell me this stuff doesn’t work. It works. It’s worked brilliantly. They got rid of ACORN this way, and they – by feigning the ‘jihad’ against them – will intimidate the IRS from doing their jobs and shielding these obviously political groups, Everything we are saying is from a defensive posture.

This is what gets me steamed.

GOP Whips Up Scandals to Avoid Facing Obama’s ‘Most Rapid Deficit Reduction since WWII’

    By: Sarah Jones

Here’s a real bitter irony for the GOP. At the same time as their ideology took an ugly beating in the reality department, the man they are determined to destroy has a better record at deficit reduction than any of their recent Presidents. In fact, government spending under President Obama has grown at a slower rate than it did under any president since Dwight D. Eisenhower, according to Bloomberg (that’s over 50 years ago, if you’re counting). Ironically, this fact is due in part to their own obstructionism and President Obama’s endless compromises with them.

The White House isn’t averse to rubbing it in. Office of Management and Budget spokesman Steve Posner summed it up in a way that must hurt, “The improvements in this CBO report are yet more evidence that the President’s policies are contributing to the most rapid deficit reduction since World War II.” Is that accurate? Why, yes, actually, it is.
They just keep wasting our money, as Obama tries to save us all from their childishness.

Former Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is returning to Utah after purchasing a home near his son Josh’s residence.

Salt Lake County records show Romney bought a Holladay, Utah, home through a holding company in March, according to the Salt Lake Tribune:

County records show a home in Holladay purchased for $717,000 in March under the business name ADR Holdings LLC. The name appears to be the initials for Romney’s wife, Ann D. Romney, and she is the only registered agent for the company, according to state records.

The address listed for ADR Holdings is the same as Josh Romney’s company, Romney Ventures.

The Deseret News reports Romney will build a new home on the property. A source told the Deseret News Romney plans to split his time between homes in Salt Lake City, San Diego and New Hampshire, while continuing to visit his Boston apartment.

Romney previously had a 9,500-square-foot home in Deer Valley, which he sold in 2009.

They have watched this man being given a country in crisis with economic meltdown, two wars, international reputation ruined, multiple agencies in bad shape, and on and on. And he has worked like crazy for four years to repair all the damage, without much help. Facing the most radicalized republican party in decades.
The economy is recovering, one war is over, the other is winding down, the reputation of the USA has recovered (although the republicans are doing their best to ruin it again), a new health care law is being implemented, DADT has been repealed, immigration reform is in the works , and on and on…

He says President Obama only likes speeches, doesn’t care about anything else. And Milbank is really gross with his snippy, snide add-ons. It’s a hate fest, and it’s really disturbing. Maybe he can get his son-in-law, the “head ” to “roll ” him a big fat one.

        May 15, 2013 at 5:37 pm

I’m not too fond of this reference to his son-in-law. He is not a politician, he’s a private citizen. To use him to somehow cast aspersions on Beohner goes a step too far, imo. Earlier, he was referred to as Jamaican, and wearing dreads. Was that suppose to be a negative? If Boehner’s daughter fell in love with a Jamaican, why is that a blemish on Boehner? We gotta be careful to not get pulled into the low stuff. Let’s leave that to the ‘Pubs who think it’s ok to go after PBO’s girls or other family members, just cause they can.

What was a joke? that he’s Jamaican? That he’s a druggie? That he’s Boehner’s new son-in-law? What part was the joke? I don’t see how this is the least bit funny. I like a good laugh more than anyone, but there is nothing funny about insinuating that Boehner is somehow getting his comeuppance because his daughter married a Jamaican man, then saying he’s a druggie. It wasn’t funny to me when it was posted on a previous thread and it isn’t funny to me now. This is just my own personal thought. We all have our own sense of humor.

      • 98 theo67
        May 15, 2013 at 6:06 pm

I’ve been thinking about this, and it doesn’t make sense to me. Most students aren’t good credit risks. Many student loans are defaulted. Why should a student get the same or better interest rate than a corporation, which may be backed by collateral and may also have multiple sources of raising capital – with good chances of return on the investment? I get that we want kids to have access to education, but asking for the same interest rate, in an unwarranted fashion – doesn’t make sense. It would make more sense for her to be fighting for more grant money to allow more students to go to school without incurring huge debt. It would make sense to applaud the efforts of the Administration to lower the cost of education and make student loans more affordable and more manageable. But this bill to make less credit-worthy kids have the same ability to get loans as a large, credit-worthy corporation doesn’t make sense. Isn’t easy access to more money one of the reasons people got into trouble with their mortgages, too?

I always like to be aware if someone has gone completely off the rails, or if they are just disagreeing with a policy that PBO has in place for whatever reason. If it’s to our benefit, and her disagreement is done with respect, then good on her. Student loan relief is very necessary and it impacts my community more than any other.
