Be still, my beating heart! No future POTUS and FLOTUS will ever be able to inspire and thrill me like the Obamas.

Amen, Judith. There is something about our POTUS and FLOTUS that inspires the fiercest loyalty I’ve ever known for someone in office. They are magical.

Ode to Joyful Two Terms! And they will be…..this is a blip. These naysayers are not going to steal my joy in having Barack Obama be my president for eight years.

Carolyn, this “blip” has reminded us (once again) that we’re dealing with utterly unscrupulous people who will stop at nothing to smear our president. That inspires me to work harder than ever to give him a Congress that supports him. 2014 has got to produce Dem turnout at unprecedented levels. This is no business as usual mid-term election coming up. This is a vicious, no-holds barred fight for our survival.

I finally gave up and find you over here “got jokes.”

What I said way over there that I knew this day would turn out perfect for us and it did. AG Holder kiss ass and then some….
Now if you think they have egg on their racist faces right now at this very moment(while they are plotting and scheming up another scandal) all POB and FLOTUS have to due is announce they are expecting.
Hot damn! That would put the icing on the cake…….
They would probably all leave the country!

HF, I wish we could collect all the economic good news and progress in one place to have it as a handy guide when we talk to people. All these little facts add up to making PBO one of the most brilliant and responsible fiscal managers in the history of the presidency.

I love these late night music posts. They are a great way to end the night. Today and this week is very, very busy. This post and all you wonderful people have keep me sane this crazy week. I worry and pray for this wonderful president that those that hate him so much get what they all deserve some day and we really get this country back to the middle class.

    Have a great night.

      May 15, 2013 at 1:16 am

Mtmarilyn, I understand your words so perfectly. He will be fine because those of us who really cares have POB’s back.

He knows how hard we worked alongside him to get him re-elected, and he will do his very best to be the best that he can with the grace of God being spread around him daily.

It is our prayers of goodness being sent out to reinforce his goodness that is within him to move across this nation and touch hearts, inspire young people to be engaged in the work that is before us; and to move with focused minds and hearts to move with him daily. Whatever, little or big thought or/and action that each one of us will put forth with an energy close to our president will help us to move forward.

POB has not forgotten us and what we stand for alongside of him; but he does need those beautiful prayers, faith filled prayers and calm and beautiful focused meditations for goodness to susrround him and God’s power to protect him and VP Biden daily.

We give thanks for President Barack H. Obama, and our beautiful First Lady. May goodness, hopefulness, peacefulness, hope and believing that we can make some change for the better will always be a blessing for him. POB will be the brilliant President and he will give thanks where thanks is due. But have no doubt, President Barack H. Obama will go down in history has one of the greats of our Presidents. Believe me.HZ

That’s right. We definitely need to keep our sanity! The last few days have been incredible: noise, noise and more noise. Substance: not so much. I finally shut off completely. A sense of humor is always helpful; so is some relaxing music and an appreciation of all the progress that is being made every day.

Our voices are being heard on the issue of gun safety legislation. The battle is far from over. But just as the President keeps telling us – change happens when we all raise our voices and make it clear that we expect more from our elected officials.

There is also a lot of progress on immigration reform. I have sent numerous emails to Senators asking for a clear path to citizenship and no exploitation of “guest workers”. So far most of the “poison pills” offered by Republicans have been defeated in committee. I also sent a message to the Senate in favor of Mazie Hirono’s amendment that would offer the DREAMers the same benefits in terms of student loans and grants that are available to citizens.

Also, OFA is now working on climate change. That is still a long shot, but we must start a conversation and build support for clean energy.

Finally, the ACA is getting close to full implementation. This will require a lot of work and outreach. It’s something I’m looking forward to and I’m always searching for good materials that explain all the options and benefits of this groundbreaking law.

Once all these issues are resolved, who could argue that this President has been anything but spectacular in bringing change? It is a very different reality today as our economy continues to heal, the deficits are shrinking and confidence has returned. Just add to that all the accomplishments of President Obama’s first term and the difference he has made in working with allies around the world, moving away from endless war and towards peaceful cooperation and development.

Let the intellectual dwarfs of our time continue with their twaddle – history will record a very different story. And we should be proud and grateful that we have been part of it.

How awful would it be going through life so hateful and angry as those “people”. They like to rant because no one listens to them, and that’s why they feel the need to scream and argue — it makes them feel validated for some reason

It’s the pure hate that is the saddest – they cannot understand the changing world – so they hate it.

I have the odd problem with change (mainly with the never ending new computers) but usually it does not generate hate.

            • 75 arkluvspbo
              May 15, 2013 at 5:04 pm

Hate is something that comes from deep within, and it’s ALWAYS about self-hatred. It’s fear of the unknown, fear of feeling out of control and fear that they will not survive.
Neverending new computers — that’s a whole other ball of wax. 🙂

This is fantastic news! It’s heartbreaking when you think of some of these diseases that seem so simple to eradicate, but which still claim thousands/millions of lives each year in developing countries, due to poor water quality, lack of food, unavailability of simple vaccines, etc. I went to school with a boy who had polio in the 80’s – I thought polio had been eradicated decades ago, but it wasn’t in some places.

Just like the media tried to tell the President who to pick for his Cabinet…they now are telling him who to fire in his White House.

“he should ” over and over and over……..and , I must say…that the “professional” left is sometimes worse than the right…. The left loves hiding in the bushes until a so called scandal takes place so they too can pounce…..

Also…we never see elected Democrats ever stand behind this president and push back on all the media nonsense.

Years ago a very wise woman told me that the word ” should ” needs to be avoided as much as possible….as in “You should ” do this…or “You should ” do that … or ” You should have ” blah…..blah….blah…….

I wish neither of them signed on as a pundit …..

I don’t believe it. I will have to see that for myself. Gibbs loves PBO.

I’m with you Betsy. Unless I see video evidence, I’m giving this a hmmmm and a side-eye.

Jovie, I am not saying you are lying. I think everyone interprets things a different way, so I would have to see the video of it for myself. I do commend you for having the stomach to watch MJ. I can’t stand the man.

Gibbs has not been good as a pundit. He has not supported the President on MSNBC whenever I have seen him – the right wingers make him camera shy and he agrees with what they say. Not good at all.

            May 15, 2013 at 10:06 am

No, you are not lying….Gibbs was not very supportive…did not shred him but was critical of PBO’s response…I understand how it is tough to stomach when someone we “like” is critical of PBO…it hurts…as far as Axe is concerned, he is always tepid……I just want someone to come out on national tv and say…”Wait a damn minute, we elected this man b/c he is no drama obama, we elected this man b/c he is pragmatic, we elected this man b/c we trust him to get all the facts before taking action, so shut the F up…..that’s what I want but it ain’t gonna happen.

I’ve noticed that sometimes Axe “seems” tepid, but I think it’s that he knows when to hold his fire and when to let go. Letting Joe scream at him shows up Joe for what he is…..he always looks unreasonable. Gibbs…..since I didn’t watch it…..I never watch morning TV…..I don’t understand. But his wishy-washiness…..was why I was glad to see him leave as press secretary. Jay Carney is much better, and Jay’s stand in is much better than Gibbs.
However…….the audience for MSNBC is small……it doesn’t have much influence beyond the beltway and politically minded people.
I will keep saying…..if MSNBC wants to grow, they need to be truly liberal in programming and bring back Phil Donahue and Keith Olbermann. When that happens, I may watch something other than the occasional Rev. Al and Lawrence. If Lawrence leaves…..then I’m done!

President Obama is not supposed to explain.
Politicians must not interfere in an ongoing investigation.
Gee , if these congress people had any knowledge of how the Gov’t of which they are a part works, it goes out of the window whe they meet a camera or newspaper person.
      Geesh.

The anti-Obama wing of the Democratic Party is glad to have something to pounce on. They come out the same time with Chaney and them. This is the only time we hear from them. Now the pro Obama wing of the Democratic Party are silent and afraid to speak up.

It is amazing how the Repubs are attempting to smear the President with the shameful failures of the Nixon and Reagan and Bush administrations, so logic would say that Clinton admin was a success, since they cannot link the President with any of Clintons mis steps which is not at the magnitude of the Republican’s own corrupt scandals. glad that they are reminding the public how currupt all of the previous Republican administrations were terribly corrupt. We need to revisit the Iran-Contra, Oliver North and the rest.

Attorney General Eric Holder to Testify Before House Judiciary Committee today at 1pm. He will be grilled on all the latest controversies. More circus.

    Robert Gibbs:
If the President had come out on Friday or Saturday as opposed to Monday, none of this would be happening. This looks really Passive.

I just rewind the damn tape.

He shouldn’t say that, can’t he keep that opinion to himself and defend his former boss?
    Yes?

    • May 15, 2013 at 9:43 am

He of all people should know that POTUS doesn’t rush into anything. He gets briefed, gets his facts straight and then – and only then – does he make a statement.

I’m surprise at Robert Gibbs, but I guess this is how he gets his paycheck now so he has to go along with the flow. He can’t be seen sitting up there defending POTUS all the time, but if he was a real friend he would do it.

Gibbs has not done well in his pundit role – David Axelrod is way better – every time I hear Gibbs he is critical of PBO – sad.

Journalists are losing it because DoJ asked for the phone records of AP personel. They’re outraged, ask for apologies, etc.

Lost in all of this, nobody is asking AP and the Weekly Standard to apologize to the american people for blowing up an infiltration operation aimed at stopping terrorist attacks. John Brennan almost begged them not to blow the cover of their agent. They went ahead, because they wanted the scoop. Absolutely no preoccupation for the consequences.

Is there any more proof that those guys are self-centered?

I agree with everything you said LP2008. If anyone were to dig deep enough think all this stuff will lead to the Republicans.
