More in the morning!
You can already smell the toast burning at the NRO and AEI ….
Congrats, Bob, on number 1. Well deserved.
This is too delicious a scenario.
I hope this puts the dying GOP out to pasture, and the feckless MSM who support them out there too.
I want a true progressive (Biden or O’Malley), not a recycled team from two decades ago.
Of course, a qualified woman (Elizabeth Warren? Kristen Gillibrand? others?) would be welcome, but I have a soft spot for Joe Biden. He’s never wavered from his progressive roots.
Thank you, Arapaho 🙂
“I hope this puts the dying GOP out to pasture, and the feckless MSM who support them out there too.”
Agree. We need a responsible opposition party for our experiment in democracy to be sustainable. The GOP has failed, totally, and must be replaced.
I share your admiration for VP Biden. If he decides to run, it seems reasonable to expect that President Obama will have his back and all that will mean.
In any event, my energies will be entirely focused on whichever candidate President Obama supports.
#TrustBarack Because You Can
Bobfr, first, and mp next?
Good going, both of you! 🙂
Congrats Bob on #1 🙂
Hi hf!!
Congrats Dudette on taking home the Silver! 🙂
Thanks hf! That’s a Scintillating Silver! 🙂
Congrats on first!!!!
Funny how it is always the Democrats – those big spenders giving away the workers’ money – who end up with the surplus. The Republicans – they just print money for the rich – and war
Of course!!
Dudette, next! You guys… The best. I’ll be back in a bit, off to meditate through the solar-lunar conjunction, then have to polish all my crystals to celebrate! Bye, be good, y’hear? 😆
LOL! You almost made it Mighty P. Actually, you snagged the bronze medal! Congrats 🙂
I love bronze!! I do..
Hey MP, hope you have a sublime moment of meditation and good luck on all the crystal polishing!!
Here, light the candles with me, let’s do HUNDREDS! 😉 bye. http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO
Done (but not 100s 🙂 ) …
It was, and Oh! my crystals are glistening in the late afternoon Light! Lovely, Lovely, Lovely! (typed in 1/2 of this yesterday when the laptop battery died, and never got back again! In times like those, we switch to ipad! 😆 Heading over to Friday threads….
Happy Mother’s Day!!!
Note to Fred and GoBrooklyn, saw your comments in previous threads but did not have an opportunity to respond. Please know I’m keeping you both in my thoughts and wishing you the very best outcome.
These pictures are AWESOME…even the ones with Gov Ooops, but especially the ones with FLOTUS, Dr. Jill, and Prince Harry, and the ones with PBO meeting and interacting with the youth and the folks at the restaurant. Thanks Chips!
But… Beng…
Yup…yup..that too…LMAO!
I was just thinking, the President gets stuck with perry and FLOTUS gets Prince Harry!
LOL! Perry, or Harry? Please advise! 🙂 🙂

It’s Obamas fault !
That’s scary. We should all keep the space station inhabitants in our thoughts!
I just love the few words FLOTUS said to her Mother.
RIDDLE: What has two legs, a lame cable TV show in the morning, trips over itself to report “bad news for Obama,” generally asks stupid or hostile questions at PBO’s pressers, and looks a lot like Chuck Todd?
Jake Tapper!!!! 😆
LOL! Ha – You missed my Jake Tapper riddle last night?
I did!!!
Izonprize guessed the correct answer. That one was the toughest riddle of all time!

Cheesy puffs for Isonprize!!!!!

Pres. Obama for the win with the Brotha Man/Homie handshake.
Click on the link. Pres. Obama wins the week.
😀 😀 😀
This sounds cool!
Aw, but do I have to look at Matt Lauer?
Or see one of Chuck Todd’s R/Ts? Eek. Guy’s a creep and a half.
IF ONLY I could have done a Star Trekkian mind replacement with one of those people at Stubb’s Bar-B-Que. NICE PEOPLE NO DOUBT!!! DESERVING!! But…………………well their minds would have just been in suspended animation and they would never have know a thing, so….
UT have you been to Stubb’s B-B-Q restaurant, or have you heard of it? 🙂 🙂 🙂 If not, you have to make a trip there as soon as you get a chance. Just in honor of PBO’s visit.
😀 😀 😀 😀
Well Tapper just outed himself a la Faux News “Fair & Balanced” and Ariana Puffington “Beyond Right & Left” crapola. Factual reporting has an unmistakable LIBERAL bias, so if you’re “agnostic” you’re not about facts.
Thanks for playing Jake. GAME OVER, dumbarse.
Seriously Hopefruit, the guy has his head so far up his arse it’s a wonder he can breathe. Politically agnostic?!?!
Yup, he’s so far gone. I guess even ABC was too “liberal” for him….sicko.
I watched both Rachel and Lawrence tonight. The part of Rachel’s show that was impactful was her interview with the father of one of the Newtown victims. It just broke my heart – even Rachel broke down at the end and was in tears, barely able to speak. What the GOP and weak Dems have done to these grieving families is not human.
If there are points for coolness, and for really caring, and for paying attention, and for making an effort to connect, and the astounding ability to do so, this POTUS is surely off the top of the scale… And the FLOTUS, as well… I can’t imagine what it takes for them to keep doing this stuff, day after day, week after week, month after month. Truly awesome…
And thanks to you Chips, and your cohorts, for continuing to let us see all of this!
Gato
And thanks to you Chips, and your cohorts, for continuing to let us see all of this!

THISSSSSSSSS!
Chipsticks is a National Treasure!
😆
So true, Chips. Watching how much work it is now with all the mini blog tyrants, I can’t believe you did all of that work by yourself for over FOUR YEARS! Thank you so much. You save a lot of us, and kept us informed and delighted..
Evening Chips, TOD’ers…..
LP!!!! How are you doing today, better-ish I hope??
Hey Chips, kinda sh**ty day….just laid around like a hibernating bear. Only got up to go to the bathroom!! Feeling better this evening though, thanks for asking.
Ah LP, that’s miserable, it’s taking a long time to shake this off. And you’ve a busy weekend, a Monday deadline??
Yep Monday, Tuesday grades are submitted….I was actually feeling decent this weekend up until Tuesday, yesterday was bearable, but today sucked!
Chis you made the front page of the Guardian!! Well Played……Well Played!
Excuse me you, my knees are waaaaaaaaaaaay better than that!!!!
LOL….I see Man U named some new bloke, never heard of him..Are you satisfied?
93.24% satisfied LP, while still weeping like a baby because of the King’s retirement. My pal in New York thought she was being helpful when the news broke, “it’ll help you come to terms with Obama’s second term ending”. I should add: she’s my ex-pal.
LOL, I’m treading lightly then…gonna stay in my lane. My peak interest in EPL was when Michael Owen came on the scene, Klinsmann for Germany, and Desailly for the French. I only know these players from skipping classes in Undergrad playing FIFA 98 on PlayStation!
Empirical evidence, please ….. and, yes, I’m fully aware of what that will elicit 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
You know Bob, it’s just a little bit hurtful that you wouldn’t just take my word for it, but here you are:
Swoon away, young man.
‘Swoon’ is hardly the reaction …. and, as noted, I knew, from vast empirical data, what to expect 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 though I must say you truly outdid yourself, my dear Chips 😀 😀 😀 😀
Thanks Bob, I suspected you’d be a little overwhelmed. I have a photo of my armpits – will I post it, or would that be too much for one evening??
On bended knee begging you ……………………… oh, hell, go for it 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
On reflection Bob, I love you too much to post such a pic! 😆
Ah, the universe is well served by your generous spirit 🙂
My eyes!!! 😯
Perfect!
I thought so 🙂
….and also, i heard you’re alergic to peanuts.
🙂
Just more target practice for the IAF 🙂
NO kidding…..makes no sense, but whatever. Defense industry gotta get their money, war is good for business!
Yep. Good to know you are feeling a bit better this evening. Don’t push. Get plenty of rest!!!
About to call it a night….my computer sucks. Shockwave flash keeps crashing on Chrome. I know you know IT stuff, any suggestions?
Have zero experience with Chrome, unfortunately. Rest well, that’s what’s important!
Aye, aye….next time my CPU freezes, I’m done… No NBA playoffs is killing me!!!
Everyone on the POTUS-VPOTUS team has such a jam-packed schedule, unless our lazy MSM, who pretty much watch TV and then write up what they see.
Prince Harry is such a cutie, looked like he blushed the whole time he was on stage. Let’s get everyone out of harms way in Afghanistan as soon as possible.
LOVE Joe and Jill.
The PUMAs and other Hillary supporters forget this:
VP Biden on POTUS Obama:
“We have very different styles, but we are simpatico. At all the debates we had – trying to get the nomination in ’08 – we’re the only two who never disagreed on a single substantive issue. He has a great line. He said, “We’re the ultimate odd couple,” he says. “We make up for each other’s shortcomings.” He makes up for a hell of a lot more of mine than I do of his, but it’s worked.”
And look at what a BIG heart POTUS has. I’m sure Hunter Biden is grateful for POTUS’ generosity.
” When you leave the Senate, they let you buy your Senate chair. I have two sons, and I didn’t know what to do. He said, “Look, give Beau your chair; I’ll give Hunter my chair.” So Hunter has President Obama’s chair from when he was a senator. That’s major league.”
That is such a delightful story – think Hunter might have the best of the arrangement – although a much newer chair 🙂
I absolutely love this. Both of these men are monumental and unique. We’re lucky to have them – and they really are an odd couple that works. Imagine if Pres Obama had picked Hillary, like so many were clamouring to happen. Have we heard a peep from VP Biden about 2016? Could we have expected the same from Hillary as VP? With Bill goading her on?
Biden is a class act, and he respects President Obama – and vice versa.
I am already sick of 2016, and although I like HIllary, I almost feel it would be very hard to vote for her if she were the nominee because I am so tired of people blowing right past the historic presidency we are in the middle of to focus on her. And I feel that she should tell everyone to shut up for a while.
I agree that Hillary should tell people to calm down, but if she’s the nominee, then we have to work for her. She’ll be better than any Republican.
I know and I will. It’s just right now I’m disgusted with the whole thing. It’s as though they don’t have to pay any attention to the president. Grrr!
Yup – I’ve been ‘grrr’ing, too… 🙂
I figure it is just a matter of time:
\
Hope I didn’t give any ideas.
If #WHGardenazi trends tomorrow Japa, we’ll flippin’ know who to blame.
I just sent Rep Frank Lucas (R) OK, Chair of the committee a quick note asking whether or not the WH filed an environmental impact statement.
Chris Hayes does not know Congress. The President has real friends in Congress. They are adults and don’t talk about relationships and BFFs! I have heard in the past that Coburn and the President were good friends. They came in at the same time and hit it off personally. Coburn often speaks of how much he likes the President personally, just disagrees with him ideologically. (Coburn is one of my Senators and he speaks to this) From what I’ve noticed about the President, he makes friends and keeps them. Notice all the people from his early days in Chicago ,Harvard and other places. They are loyal to him, and he is loyal to them. Actually, I don’t think the President operates with hate. He knows that it only destroys the hater, not the hated.
Well said, carolyn. I always enjoy your posts about the president.
Benghaz, y’all. Benghazi….
And donutz!
LOL – I posted a tweet from him below. Hilarious! 🙂
You inspire me Hopefruit, you know that – right? 🙂
1st Prize Winnah!
Of all the people in TODville, I probably know/understand Obamacare/ACA the least.
I think these two items are good news from the West:
Please let me know if I’m wrong.
No, you are correct. Good news and important to get out there.
Nice .
Don’t know if this has been posted today….flash keeps crashing, any suggestions for Chrome & WP?
I am not a tech expert. I run Chrome, and I know that when I have too many windows open with flash running, it will crash.
Knoller is having a good—–and mouth-watering day. Got to tweet about PBO’s bbq lunch and now Harry’s din menu. Knoller is a foodie. Or something.
Sorry for the duplicate Dotster..I’m just as amused as you are on Knoller’s food fetish. 🙂 🙂
Ok, it’s Miller Time! See everyone after dinner with a night owl chat.
Mark Knoller is excited about what the Prince is having for dinner.
Now he’s sneaking into the British Embassy for “menu news.” Tsk Tsk.
I have not been on for a few days, but did I miss Fred also? I do not want to scare anyone in my TOD Family, but I was also thinking of Fred for the past day, and also last evening.
So to my dear Fred, GoBrooklyn, Joan, and all those who are gently and silently pressing on, I am still meditating and praying very faithfully for all of you. You are my family, and I love you all so much.
Be good to your spirits and have a dose of laughter throughout the day. Healing to the soul.HZ

As a follow up to this LA Times story from last month:
Good news:
Plans shelved for coal export terminal in Oregon
By Kim Murphy
May 8, 2013, 3:53 p.m.
“Company officials said the site at the Port Westward industrial park near Clatskanie [St. Helens] could not be configured optimally to handle export of up to 30 million tons of coal a year, most presumably destined for markets in Asia.” [snip]
“Of six coal export terminals originally proposed in the Pacific Northwest, projects at Grays Harbor and St. Helens have been withdrawn, and a project at Coos Bay is shelved. Trains would originate in the Powder River Basin.” [snip]
“Developers still are exploring or seeking permits for terminals in Boardman, Ore., Longview, Wash., and at Cherry Point near Bellingham, Wash.”
Thanks for this information. It has been a big fight here.
Also to let you know if Schwietzer doesn’t run there are 3 great women who might run. I think I sent you an email.
Thanks for posting the video of the First Ladies Tea party, it was fun to watch here with the kids and Harry 2. 🙂
Quote of the Day: Eric Cantor Says Obama Just Doesn’t Understand Him
// From Eric Cantor, criticizing the fact that President Obama hasn’t done much to develop personal relationships with House leaders: The president could benefit himself and the country a lot by developing those relationships and understanding where conservatives are, instead of just thinking that he knows where we are.
Um….and just what would Obama learn if he did this? I mean, don’t get me wrong. Schmoozing is part of the job, and Obama should probably do more of it, whether he likes it or not. But is Cantor seriously suggesting that his positions, and the positions of the tea-party wing of the party that he leads, are even slightly nebulous? That Obama might learn about some surprising new areas of compromise if he talked to Cantor more? Seriously? //
http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2013/05/quote-day-eric-cantor-says-obama-just-doesnt-understand-him?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Eric Cantor is the biggest whiner I think I’ve ever heard! I expect this from a 12 year old boy, but not from a “grown man. Cantor needs to grow up and take responsibility.
Sorry for the duplicate Chips! Didn’t see your post before I posted mine 🙂
Uneducated whites are becoming a minority faster than they expected.
Must be because their IQ is lower …
[ Sorry, couldn’t resist ]
BWD has just posted a series of excellent charts chock full of info on the Affordable Care Act. If you can and have some time, please check her TL and RT/share this important info.
This is a truly historic moment, Hopefruit – I beat you by ONE WHOLE minute with that tweet. And that is a first.
I bow to thee, thy excellency! Congrats Chips!
If it doesn’t include Benghazi, forget about it.
Yes We Can
I hope it’s not too late for this fun stuff for “geezers”. 😀

It sure does Alma.
Yardarm — THANK YOU! Been trying to think who little Lindsey reminded me of — PAUL LYNDE!
SURE DOES!
these are great, yardarm! thanks for the memories of some very fine comedians, and some hilarious jokes.
Glad you liked them.
Is POTUS back home yet?
#JustImagineIf
#TrustBarack Because He Cares
The GOP are twisting themselves into pretzels to do whatever they can to discredit President Obama while placating their corporate overlords and trying not to appear treasonous to American and global citizenry.
It’s not working out very well for them:
Been waiting for this yummylicious round-up post all day. Thank you, thank you.
“yummylicious”
😆 Good evening Almablanca!
Good evening! Just got through all the videos. I am a happy camper tonight.
Chips,
Please forgive me.
Finally the semester’s over, student work has been graded, annoying late assignment stragglers have been appropriately chastised, grade change forms turned in, and so now I can join the ranks of blog tyrants. I wrote a piece for when I promised lat month, but some breaking news (I forget which) made it moot. Writing something for Saturday.
That is *wonderful* Zizi, but don’t you dare apologize, you’re a busy bunny! Any time will do, thank you so much!
President Obama understands him alright…he probably just cannot STAND him.
New post!
