I have rewritten my diagnosis of Today’s TBGOPers’ disease.

I truly believe that the TBGOPers have confused Bengay……a pain medication for their severe nightmarish pain they believe, REEL or Imagined that they have been experiencing since Nov 5, 2008…….when 1st then sen Obama beat them. Then on Jan 20, 2009, after the swearing in, their pain intensified. On Nov 6, 2012, the pain became more chronic and by Jan 20, 2013, they have become addicted and have mistaken Bengay for BENGHAZI, 24/7.

I swear my cairn terrier/silky terrier mix is on the evolutionary track to develop thumbs on dogs. As he manipulates his toys, you can just see that he’s frustrated he doesn’t have thumbs to hold things.

However, that didn’t stop him from bringing Mommy a trophy of what I assume was at one time a bird. My Great Hunter.

Any idea why James Richard Perry went to receive POTUS today, however, last two weeks at the West TX explosion memorial gathering and at the GW Bush Museum, to Perry, pres Obama was Not worth his hospitality? What is up with the 180?

Perry was busy peddling the pro-business libertarian Hell that is TX at that time. he was here in Illinois, shilling for TX a few days after the explosion. Can you imagine if a Democrat behaved that way?

    • 20 cookemom
      May 9, 2013 at 4:42 pm

Perry wanted to distance himself from the tragedies that were the explosion and the Bush presidency. He welcomed being associated with the accolades and success stories that he knew PBO would give the high school. Perry is about as subtle as an elephant in an ice skating rink.

And, Perry saw how enthusiastic and glad the people were to have POTUS and FLOTUS with them in Waco. Even he could see that he’d been stupid……well…that’s too far to go, but he knew he better get in on the good reception the President always gets. Despite what you hear in other parts of the country, Perry is NOT loved in Texas, except by a small minority. Being with the president will give him some positive press.

WASHINGTON โ€” House and Senate Republican leaders told President Barack Obama Thursday that they will refuse to nominate candidates to serve on an advisory board that is to play a role in holding down Medicare costs under the new health care act.

House Speaker John Boehner, who joined Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell in boycotting the Independent Payment Advisory Board, also said that the House next week will vote again to repeal the health care act. According to a Democratic count, the House has tried some 36 times to repeal or defund all or part of Obama’s landmark health care overhaul since it became law in 2010.

The 15-member advisory board, known as IPAB, would have the power to force payment cuts on insurers, drug companies and other service providers if Medicare costs rise beyond certain levels.

What Darrell Issa really wants out of Benghazi hearing

    By Anthony Clark

    โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”

Others have covered many aspects of his story. They have written about his alleged misdeeds, before and after he entered Congress. They have ably discussed Issaโ€™s illegal disclosure of wiretaps; his irresponsible release of sensitive unredacted State Department documents; his political misuse of official funds; his use of his public office for personal gain; his inability to be honest about his own military service record; his treatment of his private business partners; his youthful (and not-so-youthful) experimentations with borrowing other peopleโ€™s cars without permission; his failed attempt to recall and succeed Gray Davis as governor of California (and his Boehner-esque acceptance of his failure); his characterization of the Sept. 11 attacks as โ€œsimply a plane crashโ€; and his disregard for tradition, House rules and plain decency in the selection of Democratic Minority witnesses.

Sure, these and other issues call into serious question Issaโ€™s integrity, or fitness to serve in the United States Congress, much less chair a House committee vested with personal subpoena power.

But Iโ€™d like to look instead at Darrell Issa, Oversight chairman.

Once more, with feeling: EPA is required to regulate carbon from existing power plants

    By David Roberts

    ————————————————-

I didnโ€™t set out to spend all week endorsing Jonathan Chait posts, but heโ€™s got a follow-up to the cover story he wrote last week and, well, I endorse it. Like Chait, I continue to believe that Obamaโ€™s EPA will issue CO2 standards on existing power plants. At the very least, thereโ€™s no dispositive evidence that it wonโ€™t. And I too believe that those standards are the most important piece of Obamaโ€™s climate legacy, if not his overall legacy.

But Chait passes over a key fact that, to my eternal puzzlement, plays little role in the discussion about EPA rules. Quite simply, EPA is legally obligated to issue these rules.

PRESIDENTIAL POWER & THE MEDIA’S WILLFUL IGNORANCE OF HISTORY.

    The Myth of Presidential Leadership

Many Washington pundits are critical of the presidentโ€™s ability to wrangle concessions out of Congress, but they forget that his power has limits.

    By Norm Ornstein

    ———————————–

Now, after the failure to get the background-check bill through the Senate, other reporters and columnists have picked up on the same theme, and I have grown increasingly frustrated with how the mythology of leadership has been spread in recent weeks. I have yelled at the television set, โ€œDidnโ€™t any of you ever read Richard Neustadtโ€™s classic Presidential Leadership? Havenโ€™t any of you taken Politics 101 and read about the limits of presidential power in a separation-of-powers system?โ€

But the issue goes beyond that, to a willful ignorance of history. No one schmoozed more or better with legislators in both parties than Clinton. How many Republican votes did it get him on his signature initial priority, an economic plan? Zero in both houses. And it took eight months to get enough Democrats to limp over the finish line. How did things work out on his health care plan? How about his impeachment in the House?

    HEY EVERYONE; GOBROOKLYN UPDATE:

Last time I wrote was during the WHCD and I’ve been too exhausted to wrtie anything since. Literally too exhausted. Even my lame attempt on twitter left me sleeping.

So docs were promising to get me out of iCU and it wasn’t happening so I had to beg plead and cry until it happened. I was seriously losing my mind. I imagined that the nurses were trying to get me to abort/not abort this type of fish growing inside of me because they were being eating as delicacies. Another time I imagined I was being held captive even though I knew these nurses, the area I was in didn’t look hospital rooms. Most recent incidence was that I became suspicious of a new girl trying to take my blood which they did way too much by the way. I harassed her until she had to take a break. I then proceeded to rip off my IV and the nurses had to put on a new one and then rap gauze around it to keep me from doing it again. The next morning I apologized to the new girl and she gave me the best sponge bath I had since I’ve been here. I let the staff know my suspicions and it wasn’t a full blow freak out but I just wasn’t healthy environment for me.

The same day however, I got some really good doctors to move me back to my favorite floor.

So I have my own room again with familiar faces. They have me on a new and cleaner drug cocktail that helps me sleep at night not feel so groggy in the morning.. They told’ve the staff to lay off the blood drawing and only do it every few days. Got a couple of sessions of music therapy. THOUGHT i had a good physical therapist session yesterday until another doc said to lay off the right leg until further notice. You will see further notice down below.

Had my 2nd day of radiation today. Didn’t hurt. Slept through most of it.

So just a few moments ago I learned that I will need a hip replacement before the tumor eats away at it like it could have with my spine. The doctor who broke the news was quite abrupt. I couldn’t remember his name so I was just left distraught to process info myself until my physical therapist and my main doctor or residence doctor came along. She gave me a couple of hugs and basically told me all that the fist doc should have told me. Now I have to wait until another doctor gets back in a week or so to provide me with more info about the surgery.

So much to deal with and I’m trying to remain optimistic but this most recent hip replacement news is now leaving impression that the next shoe is about to drop. I don’t like living a life like that.

That’s all for now. My mom will be here until Sunday and I just asked her to bring me some peanuts and diet Snapple. It’s what I’m craving. What can I say.

Hayes is their “younger” looking Keith Olbermann without the “It” of Olbermann.

Failed. They got rid of Ed for Chris. Failed, woefully. He is dragging the ratings down. On Weekends, he has a niche. Not on Prime Time at 7:00 CT.

I knew he would fail in prime time. He doesn’t have the personality for anything other than – yes- a Sunday morning niche. He cannot muster the passion to be interesting on a long term basis. Unfortunately, you either have to have a serious breadth of intelligence and knowledge or at least be entertaining. Seriously – what were they thinking?!

Olbermann was passionate to a fault; but he had a unique personality and an individual voice. He wrote his own copy and enjoyed using words. I believe they chose Hayes in order to fail. I’m no great fan of Ed Schultz – he doesn’t think things through, he’s an intellectual lightweight. But he had passion.

I have to agree with you. He was the spare, and actually more fun to keep track of. I remember my youth, and I am definitely not Royal.:)

Okay Ms Chips, You really don’t like this Bloke, Harry.

But, he has red hair…….I saw those pictures you have posted……I am hiding and on my knees ๐Ÿ˜‰ of yourself…….as a having red hair. I see No Kindred spirits here ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

The Guy on the right, looks like a twin of the guy on the far left from another Mother…….as 999 Herman Cain could claim?

      • May 9, 2013 at 6:59 pm

He’s lucky to have hair…unlike his dad and brother.

        • May 9, 2013 at 7:01 pm

Hiya DI, don’t mean to be unkind (well, I do), but his Dad has lots of hair.

            His real dad? He’s a spitting image—-Major somebody—-had lots of red-ish hair.

            • May 9, 2013 at 7:39 pm

Dotster, that’s James Hewitt, who Diana allegedly had an affair with. Private Eye, the naughty political/satirical British magazine, has referred to her second son as Harry Hewitt since he was born ๐Ÿ˜• I don’t think anyone doubts who his real father is. Luckily for the monarchy, he’s not next in line to the throne!

I never knew about these rumours! Looking at the pics, I think I’m buying into the conspiracy… ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

                • May 9, 2013 at 10:27 pm

๐Ÿ˜† It’s pretty convincing Theo!! I’s actually feel sorry for Harry if he wasn’t such a dick.

Has the lad not changed his ways at all??

                    • May 9, 2013 at 10:39 pm

I’m probably not the one to give an honest answer Theo, me loathing all things royal! Yeah, I think he’s moved on from his Nazi-costume-wearing days, and calling one of his Pakistani army colleagues a “Paki” and telling a ‘well-spoken’ black comedian that he didn’t “sound like a black chap” – it was probably always going to be hard for him to be anything but a bigot growing up in that family.

I only knew about the Nazi uniform thing. I used to watch the royals quite avidly back in the early 90’s when I lived in London, but after I left in ’93, I really didn’t keep a close watch on what was going on there. Coming from Canada, I’ve always wondered what they do to earn their incomes, anyway… ๐Ÿ™‚

CBS News just had a segment on twin principals in an Oakland school. The school has co-principals, and they are changing the entire culture of that school. Reginald and Ronald…..forget their last name. Calm, determined, well educated, well dressed…..amazing. Very positive report on public education. Good to see.

Funny… Austin and Denver. Where I used to live before moving to Colorado. Sounds like a great school – you can’t go wrong with STEM:) Thanks for posting these videos. Serious uppers. i don’t know how anyone can dislike this man. He seems like good people to me with decent ideas and the disposition of a saint. Don’t know anyone who could deal with what he puts up with on a daily basis and still maintain an even temper.

You are a doll Ms Chips – common knowledge in lots of places – seems the media in the US never gets the story right about anything – but they are especially dumb about the reality of the British Monarchy. As for being the 2nd son – some new blood not always a bad idea to freshen up a royal line!
