Chat away – Happy Cinco de Mayo!

So, for Cinco de Mayo, you may expect that I’m going to post a bunch of mariachi videos. WRONG!

One of the things I discovered when I moved to L.A. was rock en español. And Mexico is its epicenter. So, in honor of Mexican revolutionaries defeating the Emperor Maximillian, a little rock for your Sunday afternoon.

First, Maná – “Labios compartidos”

Jaguares – “Fin (Amarte duele)”

Julietta Venegas – “Eres para mí”

Hello Seahorse! – “Velo de novia”

Lila Downs – “Zapata se queda”

And to close out, Nortec Collective – “Tijuana Bass”

Chat away, and remember: drink responsibly.

Can’t even imagine that he would ever say it that way – but would love to see an army recruiting agent use the philosophy behind it

You know Bob, I also don’t subscribe to the idea of telling the President what to do. But like Randy Prine, I wish the President was like me, and didn’t have to concern himself with governing a diverse country, and could say those words. While I understand why it may not be wise, or productive, for the President to say these words, I certainly don’t see any reason why we, as citizens, can’t say those words to the NRA, GOP, and MSM.

POTUS, I can only dream to hear him utter those words exactly. But Joe, Our VP , No doubt, I can hear Our VP Biden saying those Words with his pearly white enamel shining brightly.

So the NRA is planning a match on DC with their loaded rifles.

Here is one alternative way to use the services of these chest-thumping militia:

If I were in charge and the gun nuts show up in DC with their loaded rifles, this is what I would do.

I would have a few of the tough-looking Sergeants or military recruiters ready to receive them & recruit them into “a well-regulated militia” on the spot!

I would not even allow them a curtsey phone call to their loved ones.

Instead, I would immediately load ALL of them onto a military plane.

I would then fly these “tough guys” to the front lines with the Syrian Liberation Army where they can use the “expertise” to fight in a real war.

after all many are demand that PBO intervene and here are some “patriots” answering their nation’s call.

I wonder how many of them would have a clean set of clothes after they have been summarily recruited into the real fight

ALRIGHT, this is a GREAT LAZY GUY margarita recipe!! 2.5 shots of Hornitos Suaza tequila (or other decent tequila). Juice of a small lime. IMPERATIVE: .5 shot of Damiana liqueur (This stuff ROCKS in a margarita. MUCH better than Triple Sec or Gran Marnier, I THINK ;>) ) . IMPERATIVE: 6 shots of Kirkland margarita mix. (I know! WTF? I’ve tried DOZENS of mixes….and this Costco mix is the best, not too-sweet, not too-sour I’ve tasted. (SURE!—- DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU LIKE!!) Usual process. Chilled, salted, tall glass full of fresh crushed ice. Crushed ice in the shaker. Shake shake shake pour………..MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmm!!

I left C-bus yesterday. I had to take a short notice trip home because Dad had a health scare. He’s recovering nicely now. I wish that I’d been paying attention when I booked the trip. It would have been nice to stick around to see the president. Oh well, at least I got some Rubino’s and some Katzinger’s while I was home.

This will be the capstone of the disgusting inhumane Bush war legacy. I wish there was some solution outside of these asshole RWNJ pussies who won’t let the priison close.

“Defence lawyers have tried to engage in constructive dialogue but we have been met with resistance and silence,” explained US Army Captain Jason Wright, a lawyer who described seeing his client Obaidullah, now a 115lb “bag of bones” , a few days ago as “extremely distressing”.

“I have pain in waist, dizziness. I cannot sleep well. I fell [sic] hopeless. I cannot exercise. My muscle become weaker in the last 50 days. I have thrown up five times,” wrote Obaidullah, a 32-year-old Afghan who has never been charged despite 11 years imprisonment.

“When I walked into the room he was demonstrably changed. He said, ‘They won’t treat us with dignity, they are treating us like dogs’. There is an urgency. It is clear that if this hunger strike continues there will be deaths. These men are going to die in this prison for nothing. It is an absolute outrage,” said Capt Wright.

A bit sad to see BWD’s tweet.

To all critics, I would ask just to pay attention to President Obama’s schedule. He can’t do it all at once. Those critics wouldn’t survive a week in the President’s shoes. He works like crazy. And let’s never forget that the public schedule is just one part of his work. There is a lot of reading, a lot of internal meetings, phone calls (Syria, anyone ??).

Good grief, I’m SO tired of the whiners. And I’m mad as hell to see the spike in negativity this week in the Beltway bubble. They all talk to themselves and it becomes a classical case of group think. They CREATE some false narrative. Their biggest problem ? They’re bored, they can’t wait for the primaries to begin. They were busy for two weeks with covering the Boston bombings. But now there is no “excitement” and they blame the President for it.

Or they’re mad at him for going after one of them (Maureen Dowd).

I agree with you Hopefruit! I hope BWD is not joining in with these so called supporters of the President who according to E. J. Dione are “growing impatient.” Again I am appalled at some of the rationale offered By Dionne. Here is one example of Dione’s criticism of the President:

“The president believes we need to spend more on our infrastructure to boost job creation now and to make us competitive for the long run. He’s right. But he needs to make clear it is something that’s genuinely important to him.”

So what exactly must the president do to satisfy Dione that building infrastructure “is genuinely important to him”? The President campaigned on this. He proposed a jobs bill that prioritized investment in infrastructure. He has repeatedly said this in all of his State of the Union Addresses. What exactly does Dione propose the President do differently on this issue to make it clear that it’s “genuinely important to him”? Dione proposes absolutely nothing! Like most so called liberals, Dione criticizes the President without offering practical alternatives that the President may utilize to achieve what his so called supporters want. In my humble opinion, this is what is wrong with the so called liberals or progressives. Instead of focusing on the forces standing in the way of the President’s agenda, they always find away of joining in the blame President Obama for everything. I wouldn’t mind so much if these so called liberal/progressives offered practical alternatives on how to break the intransigency of these insane Republicans who, from day one of Barack Obama’s presidency, vowed to obstruct everything he did.

I feel bad for President Obama, because with friends like these so called liberal media pundits, he sure doesn’t need GOP enemies.

My thoughts are as soon as PBO makes it clear something is VERY important to him that is a sure way to have the GOP make sure it does not happen.
