E.J. Dionne: The policy mystery of our time is why politicians in the United States and across much of the democratic world are so obsessed with deficits, when their primary mission ought to be bringing down high and debilitating rates of unemployment.
….. I’d add a second mystery: Why is it that conservative Republicans who freely cut taxes while backing two wars in the Bush years began preaching fire on deficits only after a Democrat entered the White House?
Here is a clue that helps unravel this whodunit: Many of the same conservatives who now say we have to cut Social Security to deal with the deficit supported Bush’s plan to privatize Social Security — even though the transition would have added $1 trillion to the deficit…..
In other words, deficits don’t really matter to many of the ideological conservatives shouting so loudly about them now. Their central goal is to hack away at government.

Steve Benen: …. the fact that President Obama may look for “excuses” not to use the U.S. military to intervene in an another Middle Eastern country is a growing point of conservative consternation, as opposed to relief. On “Fox News Sunday,” Brit Hume sounded pretty disappointed when he described Syria as “a costly military enterprise of the kind that this president now seems to loath to undertake.”
As if that were grounds for criticism.
…. John McCain, making his ninth Sunday show appearance of the year – the most of anyone in the country – …. has the misfortune of being wrong about nearly every foreign policy conflict of the last few decades …. he does not want the U.S. to invade Syria, but prefers to give “assistance” to rebels fighting the Assad regime.
Many of those same rebels, it’s worth emphasizing, have already pledged allegiance to al Qaeda, a detail McCain generally prefers to overlook when he argues we should give them resources and weapons.

Jonathan Cohn: Max Baucus thinks it might be a “train wreck.” David Brooks is predicting chaos. And Democratic senators are telling the White House they are panicked. They’re all talking about Obamacare and what happens next year, when it starts making insurance coverage available to nearly all Americans.
Believe it or not, the conversation represents progress. Instead of talking about whether we should have a health care reform law, we’re talking about how well (or not well) the law is going to work. So let me spoil the surprise for you: It’s not going to work as well as many of us would like, and the initial adjustment may not be easy. The whole enterprise is going to be a work in progress. And that’ll be ok—because it will still do a lot of good and make life better for most people, particularly with the passage of time.

Washington Post: A conservative backlash threatens immigration reform
The backlash has begun against immigration reform, specifically the provision that would legalize the status of 11 million undocumented immigrants and ultimately give these people a shot at citizenship. Led by conservative Republicans and whipped into a froth by right-wing radio talk-show hosts, opponents of reform are banking on derailing the measure with a strategy of delay and dismemberment.
The focus of these efforts is the House, where many Republican back-benchers remain unsold on immigration reform despite the party’s disastrous loss of the Latino vote in 2012.

MoooooOOOOoooooorning! Huuuuuuuuge thanks to our blog tyrants for their work over the weekend, including our newbie, Betsey!
GM folks. GM Chips.
Amk!!!!!!!!
I have most certainly have considered letting dog into my life. Even before entering the hospital for any reason. 🙂
Bless you twice this morning GB! Get well and a beautiful loving dog will come into your life. Glad your have a good moment to say hello.
May I put in a plug to RESCUE a dog from reputable agency. Ask me, I can refer you to some. DO NOT buy from a pet shop. They keep puppy mills in business. The dogs are in awful conditions and cats too. Would this be a topic I could post on the Sunday Lynx?
GOB, I hope your feeling better today. Is the pain subsiding some?
Hi Jackie;
Pain isn’t so bad now since hospital is pretty good at providing it as long you are within your alloted time. Used to you’d just a press a button now they have to order it and administer if for you.
Not looking forward to anymore caused by second surgery.
Congrats AMK. Good evening to you.
And a very good evening to you too, cm. 🙂
Thanks amk. 🙂
hi
Morning Japa!
Morning, I think.
I know the feeling Japa!
no politics here,,,,just Monday smiles! Love Diane Keaton…she’s a little tipsy here, but this is hilarious! ” I love the kissing of the men.”
Congrats, amk….this tantric sex talk should keep you up..er..never mind!
Google is overwhelmed, then Amazon!
Loved this. Thanks for sharing! I will go and see that movie, but I think I will play this interview again too – it is a hoot. This is good for me today as I could not sleep last night. I had some worried thoughts in my head and I actually made a conscious decision to stay awake as long as I could (lasted til after 4 am); so on my iPad I watched “Something’s Gotta Give” (Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson)-possibly my favorite adult comedy movie; so to see her having this much fun talking about her latest film too is wonderful!
Good Morning Chips and TOD!
Best line from President Obama at the WHCD: “I know Republicans are still sorting out the 2012 election, but one thing they all agree on is they need to do a better job reaching out to minorities. And look, call me self-centered, but I can think of one minority they could start with. Hello?”
This was soooo funny!!!! 😆 😆 😆
That was a howl Donna, I snorted uncontrollably!!! So many great lines, I’ll have to pick out a few for a post later, just to relive it all!
Oh that will be fun!
Nerdy Wonka did a good job that night.
That line, the Mitch McConnell line, the entrance music, the “bangs,” just about killed me. He brought his A-game and he delivered from start to finish.
This line was perfect, donna, and I even saw Gingrich mouth to someone that it was true. Not that anyone cares what Gingrich mouths, but it shows that all the R’s are very conscious of what they’re doing. They want to destabilize the government, as Dionne says, and they want to ensure that PBO’s legacy is destroyed. Trouble is they’re too obvious about it. We all know what they’re doing and we’re not going to let them get away with it.
Oh Oh…and so it begins!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Monday!!!!
As Jodi Kantor would say, hmm…. 🙂
All 45 of the cowards should find a backlash.
G’morning Chips, TOD, lurkers, everyone, and congrats amk on #1! 🙂 🙂
Here are some more good economic news.
Does anyone know when PBO is scheduled to make a decision on the pipeline?
In a similar vane, notice how the Marathon Refinery fire in Detroit has NOT made the national news…

GM Chips, TOD!!! Congrats AMK……Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
Morning LP! Really thrilled to hear about your Dad coming home, wishing him ALL the very best. And thank you so much for the post yesterday, needless to say I nodded off and never got back to the blog 😳 Thanks again LP.
GM Chips!….I figured you had nodded off… I was cock-eyed myself, but forced myself to watch Game of thrones! Sent you a DM to that extent last nite….The old man is doing well…..so far. Relieved to have him back at home. Thanks again for everything!
Morning LP! Just replied to your DM, only around 96 hours late 😳
96 hours is an upgraded in my book!!! I’ll take it…….Catch up this afternoon, got some classes…So happy my man Tony Fox is getting the DOT spot. I was born at Charlotte Presbyterian, lived in the Queen City for up until high school.
Good LP.
TY MP, hope your knee progressing well…
Ditto!
Chips I saw this doozy and thought of you immediately, it’s a tour de force….
The Erik Wemple Blog has been working on this blockbuster scoop for some time, and here’s how it’s shaping up:
In fall 2011, author Ron Suskind’s book “Confidence Men” alleged that the Obama White House had been an inhospitable place for women. A female Politico staffer at the time had been assigned to look into the story, yet a strange thing happened when she started reporting. “I would ask about these allegations of sexism and they [sources] would respond with some variation of ‘When are you going to do that story—the story on sexism at Politico?’ And so I went to my editor and said we don’t have a lot of cover on this story and shouldn’t pursue it too hard.”
So Chuck Todd goes on MTP and says that PBO hates social media. What a putz. I swear it infuriates me that someone like him gets to rise to the level of responsibility in that news station that he has. It’s pathetic.
Yes Chuck Todd he was making fun of YOU because the whole lot of you all are worthless, sloppy, newstainers that have put a blot on journalism as it once was.
{Snip}
According to NBC’s White House correspondent Chuck Todd, President Obama “hates” social media and how it has contributed to the “buzzification” of political discourse.
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/nbcs-chuck-todd-obama-hates-social-media-and-the-buzzification-of-political-discourse/
I guess nobody told him about that Reddit server meltdown when PBO did Q&A. Or the fact The President and his team pioneered the use of social media in his campaign. Or that he’s in like the top three when it comes to followers on Facebook and Twitter.
That’s not sloppy. That’s a flat out lie and Todd knows it.
Exactly derbingle – I had even forgotten about Reddit. But your excellent post just reinforces my comment. When I think of social media I think of PBO and vice versa! 🙂
Todd was just projecting his own feelings onto the President. He doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about, if anything the President hates him and the news media editorialization of what is happening and them not holding republicans responsible but always blaming the President. Chuck Todd should go to hell
If I may add something – it’s PBO who has made social media what it is. PBO is the one politician who has made the most efficient and extensive use of social media. Many people who support PBO BEGAN to use FB, Twitter, Tumblr, blogs, etc as a result of their support of his campaign, presidency, and desire to be updated on what he’s doing, etc. PBO is the #1 politician on FB & Tweeter, and in the top 5 (of anyone) in terms of followers.
Sounds like Chuckie is engaging in a mighty case of projection here – it’s the traditional media who hates social media because they have less control over their desired narrative. It’s not social media that PBO hates – he hates LIES & distortions from traditional media who abuse social media with the same corrupt agendas as they do traditional media.
Excellent points, hopefruit. I was never on any social media until POTUS. I let Todd have it on twitter this morning and tweeted that stupid Mediate article that quotes him so he could be mocked. Todd just lies 24/7 on POTUS. Shameful.
HF, I don’t think even Chuck Todd is so stupid he doesn’t know this, but he’s throwing out bait to catch fish and the smellier the bait the better. If anything, he’s talking to his fellow right wingers who feel threatened by the president.
donna I heard the clown Todd say that early this morning, MTP was repeating and I was turning the channel and I came across clown Chuck saying that and I usually would turn soon as I saw his face, but I guess I was still alittle sleepy or something, but I ended up turning away from clown Chuck and his B.S.
Good morning donna and all youse in TODville. It’s a wonderful day here but started to cloud up when I read about ole Chuckie. I am convinced now, more than ever, that Chuckie doesn’t have a belly button! He was probably found in an alligator nest. 😦
Good Morning Mate!
I’m hollering 🙂 🙂 at “He was probably found in an alligator nest”
Chuck Todd likes to mouth lies, donna, pure and simple. His hatred for PBO consumes him and he’s going to try everything he can to spread it around. Fact is, nobody listens to him. He’s been spreading his ugly around for years and we still re-elected our president and we still plan to go on supporting him. I’ll bet if you did a random street poll, you’d be luck to have one person in a hundred who even heard of Todd. He’s a nonentity.
those bangs will forever crack me up.. thanks for including them this morning Chips 😉
I know, I am laughing to think if this should become a craze, PBO will never live it down! Priceless! He’s just so danged cute! I wonder what the girls said about this! 😆
Ha.. I’ll bet his girls laughed and teased on this one. Yep this is one of those photos that I’m going to print & frame for my POTUS collection 🙂 Perfect example of the humor he’s injected into his entire Presidency.
Sherijr, back in the olden days of vauldeville, there was a comedian named Ish Kabibble that my mother used to love. Part of his humor came from wearing his hair in the exactly the same way PBO did in this spot–dark, straight hair worn in long bangs over his forehead. It was funny then and it’s funny now.
DF, this ones for you 😉
You are a GODDESS!! I LOVE THIS! Monday’s good:)
Woohoo, that’s good news, donna, although Flake isn’t even the worst of them by a long shot. I’d like to see Cruz, that simpleton Johnson from WI and the other far right uglies go lower than that and, of course, my favorite bad guy ,Toomey, should be scraping the barrel. Instead the creep got a boost from his slight head tilt to center on the gun bill and his ratings improved. I just have to give it time.

How ya feeling today?
It’s Paaaaaaaamela! How are you doing Ms Mighty, improving I hope?
Pretty good off and on, just so busy (!). Beautiful weekend with visitors from overseas, family here for the final scattering of ashes and closure for the dear lady I took care of for so many years. It was an honor to be included, and though a bit worn out am hosting a final tea here at home in another hour or so, so must give a quick hug all around and hope to be back later. Seeing ortho on Wednesday, do not know what will go forward from there, but something has to change! {{{{Chipsticks}}}} {{{{PBO}}}} {{{{TOD}}}}
OK last one off to school……Pass this around if you like, this man is taking weapons of the streets. Really cool stuff here.
Good morning all. Lots of interesting reading this morning.
I hope Anthony Foxx’s Grandmother is able to be there today.
MORNING TODS:
Sucky most of yesterday, then my sister’s family sent me a private video with them singing a song for me. REALLY so helpful. Right now I’m just okay. I have to wear this brace all around my upper body and I’m trying to have a sense of humor about it. OY!!! I’m 1/4 plastic right now.
Tomorrow is the next and hopefully final surgery for my spine so send all your love, shout outs, good lucks, ‘hood signs, prayers. Whatever it is you do. I’m really gonna need it.
Sending ALL my positive thoughts, vibes & wishes to you GB ((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))
Good morning, gobrooklyn. Praying for you daily, my friend. God is able.
GB, you will be in my prayers. Bless you.
Gobrooklyn, sending hugs & positive, healing vibes to you. Hope you’re not in too much discomfort and glad to hear that you are in good spirits.
You have all our love, strength and well wishes! You’ll come through this with flying colors:)
Healling thoughts to you GB. Both my #2 and my granddaughter had spinal surgeries at 19 and 10 years old from scoliosis. They both wore the hideous back brace, or I should say they were suppose to wear the back brace. Of course at those ages, no way we could keep them in that contraption. It just wasn’t fashion forward enough. They are both doing fine now and managed the surgeries without a hitch. I know you’ll be fine as well.
Remember no jumping in the bed. None of that twisting and shouting when you’re grooving to your favorite tunes. However, there is nothing wrong with a little bump and grind. Stay up, breathe in, peace out.
Sending hugs, love, support, healing thoughts and prayers to you!

I pray that everything goes well.

I see now that White House live says PBO will speak at the National Academy of Sciences at 10:50, not 11:20
http://www.whitehouse.gov/live
Well hidde ho all you O’s!!!! What a great getting up day on this fine morning around TODdytown!!!! Fingers crossed, we’ve broken the back of winter finally in my neck of the woods. I’ve even taken the indoor plants outside for the next few days to get them acclimated to the great outdoors.
So it looks like the gun issue has morphed into actual polling results. Initially, it was felt that 2nd amendment rights advocates were more passionate than the gun control advocates. Senators felt safe in voting no, betting that the 2nd amenders would outvote the controllers. Well, according to the latest polls, not so. Kelly Ayotte is down 15 pts for her vote, and Toomey is up because of his lead on the issue (not that we want him re-elected). In other words, we may see some movement in the other direction, now that the poll gods have shed light on how their votes will directly effect the Senacritters.
Anthony Foxx is yet another rising star in the Democratic party. Very impressive young man (41 years old). They just keep on coming in our party. I think he compares favorably to politicians like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz AND Marco Rubio.
Goodness – a deck of cards compares favorably to the Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio losers.
CBS have ‘Michelle Obama White House Forum’ listed for 10:30 AM ET

Is that ‘White House Forum on Military Credentialing and Licensing’ listed at WHL for 10:00 AM??
http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/white-house-forum-military-credentialing-and-licensing
Well now I’m thoroughly confused! 🙂 🙂 I guess we should should all log on to WH livestream and don’t leave until noon. We will “catch” whatever they’re showing, whether it’s FLOTUS, Military Credentialing, or National Academy of Sciences event.
Take the CNN approach of covering all bases and hoping that we nail one of them….
Finally solved the mystery Hopefruit!
First Lady speaking any minute now at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/white-house-forum-military-credentialing-and-licensing
PBO speaking soon at: http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/president-obama-speaks-national-academy-sciences-150th-anniversary
Although…… WHL doesn’t mention that the First Lady is speaking at that event, only CBS. So, I’m still confused!
And now WHL has changed time of PBO’s speech back to 11:20 from 10:50 ….. I’m dizzy!
Okay, thanks Chips. I also clicked directly on the WH link and the info on that page said that the national academy of science event begins at 11:20AM – even though the link says 10:50. Not sure why the discrepancy.
I think they’re just trying to keep us on our toes Hopefruit, making sure we’re fully awake. Which I’m not, to be honest.
LOL! 🙂
Oh it has just started now!
Thanks for the info about FLOTUS speaking. So is POTUS still speaking at 10:50 or 11:20am.

Ah yes, First Lady speaking soon at that WHL link
That comment that Gov Christie made lauding PBO’s handling of Sandy is going to hunt him when he tries to secure the Teabagger vote in the GOP presidential primaries in 2015-16. He may have some walking back to do, making him seem like Flip-flop Romney-part II.
Where were Bob Woodward Saturday night?
We didn’t miss him one bit, did we?
I certainly hope it haunts him when he tries to seek the Democratic vote, too. He may praise the President because the President did his job for him in cleaning up after Hurricane Sandy, but he wants to have his cake and eat it too, by still espousing the same failed GOP policies that he held while wholeheartedly supporting loser Mitt Romney.
I was so impressed with Anthony Foxx during the Dem Convention. His on air appearances and speech were very spot on. He strikes just the right tone, that would appeal across the spectrum of voters who count (independents, undecideds, swing voters). So PBO and I are once again on the same page. I’m so glad he takes my counsel to heart.
And his son (who is a spitting image of his dad) is a real cutie patootie! 🙂

We can’t take anything for granted and Dems/Indies still need to GOTV but things are looking pretty good in MA
Have you heard today that Lynch has fallen ill today and would Only make one appearance later today?
Real or Reel? Hmm?
I hadn’t heard about this. Hmmmmmm is right!
It looks promising but we can’t take anything for granted. So I’m off again for another round of canvassing and doorhangers tonight after 9:00 p.m. to remind everyone that the primary election is tomorrow. If all goes well, we can take some momentum into the final battle with the Republican nominee. Congressman Markey has been my Congressman for more than 30 years and I am really looking forward to having him in the U.S. Senate. He is a reliable Democrat who started this campaign by saying that he was running to help move President Obama’s agenda forward.
Both Stanford grads (twins) he did not tell his brother until a yr. ago. Both still in the NBA
@billclinton w FAST statement that starts: “I have known Jason Collins since he was Chelsea’s classmate and friend at Stanford” “Jason’s announcement.. is an important moment for professional sports& in the history of LGBT community”
Of course Bill Clinton would say something still acting like he is the President. I feel like venting so I am going to stop
I thought the same thing, Mellesia. Why did he have to make a statement before POTUS could? I swear I’m so sick of him and Hillary. Sorry If that offends any Hillary fans here, but they need to just be quiet and quite trying to upstage our President. They are angering many would-be supporters with this disrespectful behavior. Clinton made this statement to cover up his own failed policies — DADT, DOMA. I’m still frosted that GLAAD gave him an award after all POTUS has done for the LGBT community. Ok, rant over.
Proud you just complete what I was going to vent about beginning with “but they…” because I honestly don’t care about Hillary but the rest that is what I wanted to say. So thank you
Laying the groundwork for Hillary in 2016. that’s what all of this is about.
Well, that, and Bill Clinton never missed an opportunity to be in the limelight.
I swear Bill Clinton is more of a publicity whore than the Kardashians and that is saying something considering he is a FORMER President
Ha. Agree on both points. Bill’s white-washing his horrible record on LGBT issues to lay the ground work for Hillary. And they’re doing this by disrespecting our POTUS. All it would have take was a phone call to coordinate his statement with PBO’s.. It just gets my blood pressure up.
Why is Clinton making so many public statements? And why is Chelsea featuring in all his statements about the LGBT community? First, he made a statement about Margret Thatcher even before the President put out a statement. Now, he’s quick to bring up Chelsea – trying to set up her political career with the gay community?
Theo I have been asking myself that same question. He is everywhere these days he should take a page from Bush and go away and show up on rare occasions. But knowing Bill Clinton I doubt that will happen I swear his ego is so damn big jeez
See my comment above: it’s all in preparation for Hillary’s 2016 run.
I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay. …

Wow, what a great message.

Oh, he still has jokes! LOL
“a fidelity to facts” perfecto, Mr. President!
I woke up to a spider on my ceiling – one of the little jumping ones… I could have used this little dog in the battle…
Got to say it: Pres Obama has the best voice in the world.
You have spoken the whole truth and nothing but the truth!
His voice is so soothing.
The most soothing voice in politics. Sigh!!! Just another reason to love him.
Did any of the sunday talk show gop shills ask mcangry about the allegiance of some of the syrian rebels to aq?
I doubt it Amk, they probably don’t know the facts either, idiots.
Classes cancelled so TOD is stuck w/ me for a few hours…..
Yaaaaaaaaaay!! 🙂
Whoopi and Sherri said the same thing about POTUS’s humor. Barbara she rather complain about the amount of Hollywood stars showing up, back there in her days , around the 1800’s it wasn’t like that. I don’t know or care what Elisabeth said.
That made me roll on the floor, anniebella, especially your “around the 1800s it wasn’t like that”!
If Barbara has a problem with the number of “Hollywood stars” being there, then should should complain to her media friends. The invites come from them.
I miss the podium slaps (from the campaign) and I think he just gave us a mini-slap at the end of his speech. 🙂
Won’t post the toon here, but this is the link: http://www.cagle.com/2013/04/obama-plugs-abortion/
How disgusting and hate-filled is this?
That is so discusting. How can people be so hateful.
It’s sick and demented. This despicable crap was tried in 2008 and it didn’t work and it didn’t work in 2012. You’d think they would learn from their defeat (two times) but a leopard can’t change its spots.
There’s no end to their ugliness, Donna, just no end. I look through the toons every day and it’s always so striking how hate-filled and often utterly racist the RW efforts are. They truly are representative of that wing of society, so depressing.
They have to be ugly and racist, it is all they got to work with. They definitely don’t have policies.
I read afew comments in the Washington Post after I read a article about FLOTUS speech today. One comment said why was Michelle out there speaking about this, she has not been elected, or part of the cabinet, why is she the one out there speaking about this, why not the head of the V.A. Someone replied to that comment and told them just as long as someone is out there trying to help the soldiers and their families what different does it make who is out there. But I guess it makes a difference to those Obamas haters.
The comments section of these online media outlet need to be taken with the appropriate amount of salt – I think many of them are either paid GOP operatives, or GOPers who work at those media companies.
And you know I have a couple of associates (I won’t call them friends) that call themselves Blah Republicans and vote that way and when I point this stuff out they swear that both sides do it. I call BS and let them know it because 98% of the time when you see or read this stuff its from some RWNJ racist!
Simply disgusting!!
You gotta quit visiting cagle. I toldja before.
” I admire CNN’s ability to cover every side of a major story…..just in case one of them happens to be right! ” –PBO-WHCD
This is an excellent article LP! (although I disagree with the part about him being polarizing – which is more likely due to the MSM).
But I like this part 🙂
// “If we’re only focused on profits or ratings or polls,” he admonished an audience focused on profits, ratings, and polls, “then we’re contributing to the cynicism that so many people feel right now.” The last quarter of Obama’s remarks Saturday night received little coverage from media organizations because reporters tend to be biased toward conflict and the familiar–in this case the president’s traditionally humorous and self-conscious monologue (“I’m not the strapping young Muslim socialist I used to be”).
But it may stand as one of the best rhetorical moments of Obama’s presidency, a clearheaded indictment of four national institutions (the media, the entertainment industry, big business, and the political system), coupled by a prescription for revival.” //
TY hopefruit, thought it might get buried w/ the flurry of news the last few hours.
I sincerely hope that Collins at 34 gets a solid Team to pick him up now that he is a free agent. I wish him the very best. No B-Ball fan can chide his performance for 12 seasons…..a Solid player.
Had POTUS not Come out for Solid LGBTQ support last May in 2012…..these shifts would still be years off. Thank You AGAIN, Pres Obama.
Indeed.
Jason Collins is gaining twitter followers at a rapid pace, this morning.

Okay, some WHCD-related light relief coming up….. soon-ish
Can’t get enough of the WHCD 🙂 Looking forward to it – thanks Chips!
Chips I beg you ever so humbly – could you add LP’s article from the National Journal to the post – it’s directly related to PBO’s WHCD speech. Never mind the paid trolls in the comments section – the article itself is golden.
state of the country is the fault of the GOP/FOX and the so called msm that refuses to speak the truth and call out the crazy.
Report: Obama signature on FAA bill held up by spelling error
By Keith Laing
President Obama has not been able to sign the measure passed by Congress last week to end air traffic controller furloughs because of a typo in the bill, according to a report.
ABC News is reporting that a word in the legislation is missing an ‘s,’ delaying Obama’s signature on the bill until Tuesday.
Congress hurriedly passed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) bill last week before they left Washington for a weeklong recess as frequent airline passengers complained about delays the agency attributed to the sequester.

Congress fucking up again! They have to come back and pass another bill, meanwhile…
The clerk who typed the bill probably did that on purpose. I salute him/her on a job well done. 🙂
Bwahahaha. Dumbass Republicans.
Pierce, as usual, being Pierce.
Yup – these are the only tools they have, but they’re very hard to eradicate.
Once again, a Teachable Moment for those who care enough to pay attention or not, for their loss is greater.
Yes, more and more of us are paying attention, but whole herds of us are not. The voice of the people is getting louder, though, so I am not giving up!
And there’s “an endless supply of paint.”
Gentle reminder
Getting off to a very late start this morning; finally at the office and logged onto TOD to see a magnificent Rise and Shine of gargantuan proportions … my eyes cannot take it all in. So back up to read some more and read the comments. Good morning/midday TODers!
I cannot agree with this part of the National Journal Article .
” Elected by voters who had the audacity to hope for change and unity, Obama is instead the third-straight president known more for polarization than unification. ”
—
The citizens/nasty pundits create polarization, not the President’s. ( except for Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld )
Hit piece by John hardwood
I think I’ll borrow your “hit piece” words and tweet the buzzard back!
blah…lah…blah…
The same was said about Medicare Part D.
John Harwood was the same HACK who seemed to agree with Maureen Dowd’s tragic column about PBO in the NYTimes. Tells me all I need to know about this FOOL.
Yeah, they lunch together, over their hateful conversations filled with what they both fail to realize is potus-envy. Therapy might work on both of ’em, although probably not.
Thanks Jacqueline! RT’d and Fav’d. And I’m heartened to see that others (besides the TOD brigade) are on to their bullshit as well:
Thanks – R/T’d and fav’d that one, as well! We’ll have to keep our eye on little John Harwood today. He’ll no doubt start defending himself soon. That’ll be fun. What a goon!
I’m sure they’ll love McConnell’s “soft side” at the retirement home, back in KY. And I laugh.
I’m sure PBO has seen his flabby, hanging turtle neck if that’s what he’s referring to as his “soft side.”
I don’t know which of these McTurtle responses are better, but I am enjoying EVERY ONE. I don’t want to “go there,” but I’m thinking his back side is his real soft side, because he hasn’t been off it since being elected. Yuck.
Maybe he isn’t seeing McTurtle soft side, but we all can’t but help seeing his ugly side. Ugly bastard.
How can anybody see his soft side when his shell is covering it
I’ve missed a lot this morning, hoping for videos from Chips or YouTube. Have you discussed Syria?
Whatever!
New post in seven-ish minutes 😕
Don’t toy with us, Chips! Ha!
Oh, awesome tweet.
Tammi Terrell would have been 68 today……
New post!
