I wish to join in thanking you, Chipsticks, for these wonderful posts. If it weren’t for TOD I probably would never have had the chance to listen to and view the entire speech by the President since I had discontinued my cable subscription. President Obama was incredible tonight. As always, he makes me proud! He is definitely one of the very few politicians that I’ve never had any second thought about voting for them.

I agree Sarah Palin is pathetic. I bet she sat there and laugh too, but she can’t let her hater supporters know that. She was just wishing that someone thought enough of her to invite her.

Welp, I await all the goodie pics Chips. I know you’ll have a post up with all the best shots of the celebs and POTUS and FLOTUS.

Didn’t really watch WHCD, I’ve been watching some pretty good movies all evening and into the night. Just happened to stumble upon back to back goodness tonight. Never to be duplicated I bet.

Started with Pierce Brosnan as Bond in Die Another Day. Brosnan was a pretty good Bond, and a way better Bond than a singer (have ya heard him sing in Momma Mia…woof).

Next up was Under The Tuscon Sun starring Diana Lane and Italia! Love that movie, made me want to visit Italy just once when I first watched it, and even watching it now, it still makes me wanna go.

After that was Out of Africa. You can’t lose with Mery Strep and Robert Redford. Just gotta say that MAN Redford was easy on the eyes wasn’t he (not that he isn’t now, but young and in his prime…ding dong).

Lastly, I watched the original Stargate with Kurt Russell (i love Kurt Russell) and James Spsder (in is least “spader-ish” role/acting job, if ya know what I mean). Oh and of course that guy from the Crying Game movie. Would love to see a “where are they now” update on that guy.

Hmm, but alas all good things must come to an end, I gotsa go to work tomorrow, so I guess it would be a good idea to get some sleep.

Under the Tuscan Sun and Out of Africa are two of my favourite movies! Sounds like a lovely night. I’ve set them both to record to watch next weekend.

“His mind is brilliant, his soul is full of love and compassion, and his heart is one of goodness, and he is our President of these United States. President Barack H. Obama.”

Thank you so much HZ! As always, your beautiful words captured the true essence of our President. It really takes a wonderful soul, like you HZ, to know what really matters. Like you, I am deeply thankful that all of us at TOD helped (some of us in small ways and others in great ways) to elect and re-elect President Obama. Speaking for myself, of all the votes I’ve cast in my adult life for numerous politicians, the votes I am most proud of are the votes I cast for President Obama, both in 2008 and 2012. Unlike all his haters, both on the right and the left, as well as our unethical corporate media, I am truly proud of President Obama and all he has been able to accomplish despite the organized hostility against him. I am also thankful, blessed really, that my support for President Obama led me to this blog site where there are so many wonderful, thoughtful, and caring people (especially our host, Chipsticks), who support our President.

Does anyone know what the “magazine cover” was that PBO joked about at around the 2:00 minute mark?

  29. 103 Audrey
    April 28, 2013 at 3:03 am

I think it was very rude of PBO to leave at the end of the dinner without waiting for Mrs Obama. He never did that before. Very rude to not wait for your lady.
He’s really starting to forget his manners as far as his wife is concerned.
How can a man supposedly so considerate be so careless and inconsiderate of his own wife? Charity begins at home sir. At the bush library opening he was leaned into and had his hand around old mrs bush’s seat most of the time. That’s bad manners especially when his wife is seating on the other side of him.
Maybe this is the honest post that will finally have me banned from this site. But as a supporter of the president, I am starting to have my concerns about his 2nd term attitude towards his wife. I don’t like it one bit.

    • 104 nathkatun7
      April 28, 2013 at 3:48 am

Audrey, you are a liar and Idiot! For your information, this is not a Fox news sight, or firebagger site, where people can readily buy into any nonsensical, mud-slinging, attacks on President Obama. People at TOD are not idiots that can be easily manipulated by lies. You definitely need to be banned for coming to defecate and shit on this site by pretending to be a supporter of the President! But even more importantly, you need to be burned for trying to insult our intelligence! You are not a supporter of President Obama! I am absolutely convinced that you tried to take advantage of the fact that Chipsticks had indicted that she was going to sleep by posting this garbage. . Otherwise, you knew that she would never have allowed your despicable and vile lies to appear here. So, take your scum and post it on some other gullible sites.

      • 105 Audrey
        April 28, 2013 at 4:19 am

First, Chipsticks can look back through my earliest posts which date back a long while. That will confirm that I came to this site as a committed supporter.
What have I written that’s a lie? The president exited the dinner stage while his wife was still saying her goodbyes. Never used to happen.
I know it hurts to point out such things, but this happened as did the Bush library too.
How is is possible that PBO can go out of his way for everyone else, but lately has not been extending the same consideration, at least publicly, to his own wife?
Attacking me and shutting me out won’t mean I’m wrong to have noticed.
PBO may be admirable in a lot of ways, but lately he’s changed and not entirely for the better. I stand solidly with Michelle. I like her a lot and I think she’s a real mensch.

    • 107 jessica
      April 28, 2013 at 4:50 am

Whoa you’re doing too much. Why are you chastising the President’s manners towards his wife. He is and will always be respectful. I don’t know you but you sound a little petty.

      • 108 Audrey
        April 28, 2013 at 5:02 am

It was rude of PBO and just because there is an acceptable naughty mat attitude here towards a married man, does not mean some of us supporters can’t be more considerate and respectful of his wife.

In my opinion Michelle is the one who deserves all the kudos for putting up with so much including women who claim to be supporters objectifying her husband. Maybe that’s what’s getting to PBO’s head. All the attention is spoiling him. Shame.

Blah, Blah, Blah. I remember a certain complaint about how the President didn’t look after Michelle during the Inauguration too.
You can definitely see how much disrespect there is between the two of them. So much tension…..bwaahaaaahaaaa.
      What a crock of bullshit.

    • April 28, 2013 at 8:57 am

I flicked through your comments here over the months Audrey, which is easy to do with one click – you were never a supporter of PBO, you have criticised him from day one, just about everything you posted here was an attack on him, often of a personal nature, or on his supporters. I was the idiot for allowing you stay.

Everyone was happy last night because the speech was so fantastic – that’s why you turned up again, because you really can’t handle seeing PBO supporters happy. It’s kind of pathetic, don’t you think?

He won. Two terms. Isn’t it time you got over it?

PBO was a guest of the Bush Family and Mrs. H W Bush is a senior whose age probably reminds PBO of his own grandmother. Surely Mrs. O is secure enough in her marriage to accept PBO putting his hand around a woman old enough to be the First Couple’s grandparent

  30. April 28, 2013 at 8:34 am

Morning everyone. I just got a message about the comments left by Audrey. I haven’t even bothered reading them because I can tell without looking that they’ll be insulting to someone or other, probably PBO – who she has never been too fond of.

I have no clue why I didn’t block her ages ago, especially a few weeks ago when she returned after months just to attack one of our blog tyrants. I told her then this place wasn’t for her, but here she is again. Methinks the term is ‘trolling’.

If I suspected her comments were even sincere, as Chi’s were after the inauguration, she’d be more than welcome to stay – but I suspect not. She won’t be back.

The legend that is UT will be your R&S host this morning, see ya later!

One thing I am sure of, Mrs. Michelle Obama won’t put up with any B.S. from anyone, and that includes her husband. Anyone who claim to be a supporter of this President or First Lady, should know that by now. There seem to be some people who are searching for anything to get after this President, even his marriage. POTUS walk off the stage before FLOTUS, she can handle it. I think.

            April 28, 2013 at 2:58 pm

HZ – I agree with you and Chips and the others. Who are WE to criticize the marriage of President and Mrs. Obama, and tell him how to act toward her and vice versa. Arrogant haughtiness, which goes beyond the pale. How the Obamas have kept their marriage going and strong for 20-plus years is their business, not ours. We can admire them all the livelong day, here or anywhere, including the swagger and style, but to try to give them tips like Audrey’s on behavior is ludicrous, spiteful, and hateful. Not to mention idiotic and unnecessary. We do not OWN them; they are not our children, either. They are not perfect, and one of them will occasionally leave the other behind for four seconds, but will catch up eventually. Our role, I believe, other than to make our voices known on his politics (which work for me 100 percent), is strictly to LOVE and support them.

  31. April 28, 2013 at 4:58 pm

What struck me about the President’s remarks at the dinner, was that once again he was talking over their heads to us. I mean I know he was also speaking to them, but I also had the sense that he was asking us to take a good look at what is going on and what some of these people are doing to the detriment of the country. They were laughing at the jokes and feeling cool about themselves, but I was seeing the packaging peeled back and the decay inside. I love my POTUS.
