LL – if you are around – thank you for your wonderful post on the man in the arena – worth coming out of lurkdom to mention. Exactly my thoughts but without your gift of the gab (or the writing) not said nearly so well. This was what really upset me

“Simply put, the measure was put before the Senate, and not one single Senator voiced an objection to it. Not Bernie Sanders. Not Elizabeth Warren. All the paragons of the Left signed off on the bill.”

And suddenly “safety” is an issue. Safety in factories that implode is irrelevant – but when senators want their air travel – suddenly safety. The evening’s dinner speech by PBO should be interesting.

Got the Munchies? Well here’s what folks at the WHCD are chomping on.

The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner menu is a selection of four courses, chosen by the board out of a total of nine. Here is the planned menu:

Salad: Black lentil terrine with lump crabmeat; tango green and red artisan greens; red and yellow tear drop tomatoes, paired with a dill vinaigrette.

Break presentation: Seven-grain rolls; white and wheat rolls; sourdough rolls; flatbreads and butter.

Entree: Texas-rubbed petite filet with a calvados demi, paired with duo of jump shrimp seasoned with red curry, roasted haricot verts, baby pepper, patty pan squash, tasso mache choux risotto.

Dessert: The Galaxy–rich chocolate truffle mousse layered with chocolate genoise and almond macaroon; ganache truffle center finished in chocolate glaze, garnished with fresh raspberries.

Freshly brewed regular and decaf coffee: A variety of regular and herbal teas.

Wines: Estancia chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

  58. April 27, 2013 at 8:31 pm

    Christie is there.

I still don’t think that today’s MSM should have political folks at this affair. Let them slap each other on the back, without rubbing elbows on the very people they’re charged with reporting on. They’re just all too chummy and it seems this encourages them to continue with the fluff and hype, rather than hard hitting reporting. Years ago, the news folks knew how to separate themselves when it came to actually reporting the news, regardless of the politician involved.
