Chat Away

There are an endless number of reasons why it’s so excellent having a few blog tyrants in action, but having found this WHCD post from two years ago when I was searching for old stuff …… this is another reason. When I start snoozing, it’s unlikely the other tyrants will allow the comment count reach …… 621. 😳

Mind you, that wasn’t the worst:

Chat away!

You are already telling folks….the BTs to get ready and that is an efficient management Style…… 😎 2011 WHCD was one of the best. POTUS taking down that fatuously king of the birthers was just icing on the cake. It was brilliant.

A line of Mini Coopers, each attached to the regional power grid by a thick cable plugged in where a gasoline filler pipe used to be, no longer just draws energy. The power now flows two ways between the cars and the electric grid, as the cars inject and suck power in tiny jolts, and get paid for it.

This nascent form of electric car commerce will be announced on Friday by the University of Delaware, the regional grid operator and an electric company. They have developed a system to collect payments for work (balancing supply and demand moment to moment) that is normally the domain of power plants.

The possibilities of using electric cars for other purposes are being realized around the globe. Electric cars like the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet’s plug-in hybrid Volt, are generally not sold in the United States with two-way chargers that could feed back into the grid. But Nissan is offering a similar device in Japan that allows consumers to power their houses when the electric grid is down.

In the Delaware project, each car is equipped with some additional circuitry and a battery charger that operates in two directions. When the cars work with the grid, they earn about $5 a day, which comes to about $1,800 a year, according to Willett M. Kempton, a professor of electrical engineering and computing. He hopes that provides an incentive to make electric cars more attractive to consumers, and estimates that the added gadgetry would add about $400 to the cost of a car.

AP is reporting that 6 months after Sandy in NJ, Thousands remain Homeless. Unemployment is higher, Infrastructure is poor, Christie vetoed Marriage Equality Bill, Minimum Wage Bill, used executive power to repeal One gun for one month BUY…..etc and Christie is still at 69% approval? Hmm?

Barbara, a sen state Dem is having a harder time getting her positions heard? Well Now that she called out Chris Matthews’ treatment of her on Hardball, perhaps, the Media in NJ might just pay attention to her? I certainly hope so.

Well apparently with Christie veto all those bills and still receiving high voter approval marks tells me the people in Jersey are content with their local government.

Perhaps. But I doubt that. Many are Not told or aware of those bills. The media are overly sweet on Christie.

GM to my Chips and TOD Family. I am all mixed up, so I started backwards. It is a beautiful sunny day on the westcoast. Just absolutly beautiful.

Hope that Mrs. LL is doing fine. Hope Dudette is doing fine. I pray for all of my beautiful TOD Family to be well and to endure whatever is in their space. We take each day with power, a sound mind, a hope spirit, and a loving heart.

Chips, I sent you a “love note” last week. I hope you got it.

Well, I will take my chores as I feel them coming on, but I am so grateful to be feeling better each day. Lovingly anticipating our beautiful President and First Lady tonight.

Be kind to your spirits and enjoy your space TOD Family. I love you all so much.((((( HZ))))))

Well, I guess when One is relaxed, happy, etc…..one sleeps soundly like a baby.

I once slept from 5:30PM on a Fri and woke up 11 am the next day…..a phone call woke me up. I have never slept more than 5 hrs straight since then for I woke up answered the phone chiding the caller for waking me up. I was asked what day I thought it was, I answered, Friday and when I was convinced that it was indeed Saturday…..I simply panicked and It has Never happened again….this was in 1992. I would now give anything to get that kind of a restful night.

In thinking about the “unanimous consent” maneuver on the FAA bill, I was reminded of an article by one of the blogmeisters over on our blog roll, written some time last fall.
The blogmeister explained how this works, and it can be a two-edged sword, depending on what you want. It gives the Senators plausible deniability if something passes their constituents don’t want, or credit if constituents do want. The writer explained how every day Harry Reid goes to the floor of the Senate and reads numerous bills, most of them executive appointments, and they are passed by unanimous consent. The big high profile appointments have to be debated and argued, etc., but most go through on this procedure. Usually, Reid and the Senate clerk and other officers are the only ones there, but theSenate is in session, so this can be done legally.
Someone on the previous blog explained how this was the method used yesterday to pass the FAA bill. Another arcane Senate process to protect the Senators. Yesterday it was someone other than Harry Reid, which, I think, shows Reid’s feelings on the matter.

Good morning TOD family. It is a beautiful day in MT, 41 at 8am. It was warm enough to set out on the porch to have coffee this morning with our company, the sun is shining, the birds are singing I am so happy there is no snow on the ground, I am home for the day, my company is gone and I will be able to watch the WHCD with my TOD family.

Chips, your blog tyrants are helping to run a very smooth blog. You are the best. Now to go and catch up on the news.

How nice MT. We are also having a beautiful day. Yesterday too. The birds are chirping here too. Do you have Mourning Doves? I love them. I have a thing for Doves. One on my post for mail, candles, porcelain doves of several different kinds, etc. For Rob’s outdoor wedding, I cut out paper Doves and tied onto willow branches with fishing line. The bride loved it. 😀

Chips love ya kid the 2011 WHCD was my favorite. When Obama spoke he had already sent the KILL ORDER for OBL. When I watch this I just can’t believe how cool he was…cracking jokes and worrying like mad the mission worked. So tonight is going to be very interesting given the events of the past week.

Was in the previous thread chatting with myself (and Chips) … so will bring this info over …

Some background on the dude (aka ‘creep’ as Ms Chips accurately noted in the previous thread) ….

… who was arrested earlier today in connection to the ricin letters mailed to the President and others

‘Everett Dutschke, 41, was arrested about 12:50 a.m. Saturday at his Tupelo home in connection with the letters, FBI spokeswoman Deborah Madden said.

This is not the first time Dutschke has been involved with law enforcement officials. Dutschke is currently out on $25,000 bond facing three state indictments that he allegedly fondled three females under the age of 16. Dutschke has twice run for public office in Northeast Mississippi. In 2007, he unsuccessfully challenged Democratic incumbent Steve Holland for a seat in the state House of Representatives as a Republican. In 2008, he lost a bid for Lee County election commissioner as a Democrat.

One of the emos in Booman’s comments section has declared:

” What the President has been doing since taking office is weakening the Democratic Party at the state and local level. Lots of local Democrats are now believing that that is from design instead of being outmaneuvered by the GOP and the Democratic Congress. Folks who were thinking “rope-a-dope” last fall are getting tired of waiting for the sucker punch that undoes the GOP. They think he’s throwing them life vests instead of anchors.”

So it’s PBO who’s “weakening the Dem party” at the state and local level. Classic scapegoating going on here….with absolutely no EVIDENCE to back up his ridiculous assertion. The president is not doing any weakening – he’s exposing the long-standing weakness that has existed in the DEM party from time immemorial.

            • April 27, 2013 at 2:23 pm

These people are idiots. They will NEVER get a president like PBO for a long, long, time.

            • April 27, 2013 at 2:52 pm

I get the strong whiff of a PUMA in the air, Hopefruit.

He has been weakening the Democratic party by “design”? Ah yes, ‘cos you know, he isn’t really ‘one of us’.

              Give me ****ing strength.

If these PUMAs want you-know-who to succeed in 2016, they’d really want to stop and think – this bullshit-venom-lie spreading is going to leave them very short of friends when the time comes. Very short.

And I like Hillary – it’s just her nutjob supporters I have an issue with. And I’m pretty convinced this is one of them.

    • April 27, 2013 at 2:05 pm

Amazing how everything become PBO’s fault. They lose credibility every time with this stupid meme, as far as I am concerned.

  24. April 27, 2013 at 1:41 pm

I was off the intertubes yesterday as my uncle made me do manual labor in my backyard and I was, quite simply, wiped out. I thought I was getting sick. So I missed the whole FAA kerfuffle. And I woke up in a good mood. Now I’m angrily annoyed by the pettiness of our political culture. I might just be channeling Charles Pierce.

This is random but I’m watching this documentary called The Cartel. I’ve always supported teacher’s union but it’s getting scary out here. The national TU’s have to be more flexible and stop getting so involved in local issues.

    • 79 Lovepolitics2008
      April 27, 2013 at 2:23 pm

Jessica, if the documentary is very “one side”, there is a good chance that it’s full of omissions and distortions. Just do some research to find out who sponsored this. It could be a propaganda piece paid for by a right wing think tank, or by corporatists like the Koch brothers, etc. There is a very well organized campaign right now to destroy the unions. Media campaigns and legislative actions. In all state legislatures controlled by republicans, they’re doing everything they can to destroy the power of unions.

I’m not saying the unions are without fault, but be careful to believe everything that is presented to you.

      • 80 Jessica
        April 27, 2013 at 2:29 pm

I’ve always supported Teacher’s Union and I always hear their side, now I’m hearing the other side. And I’m not going to lie, if I was a parent with a child going to a C or below school I would look into Charter schools. We don’t have time to wait for the federal government to fix the entire public education system. The movie is written and directed by Bob Bowdon.

    • April 27, 2013 at 2:50 pm

“Local” is the most important venue for school decisions. The teachers’ work environment is the students’ learning environment. Speaking for Michigan, the state government is trying to kill public schools and the teachers must speak up on the local level to prevent this. Aside from the fact that teachers deserve to earn a middle class wage for the work they do.

Buzzfeed’s rival WHCA party sparks talk of feud — or did someone just mail the check late?

Has it come to this? The White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is so bloated yet so exclusive that it’s now prompted a secession?

Well, something like that, anyway. Buzzfeed, the six-year-old Web site that’s a relative newcomer to political coverage, announced this week that it had been shut out of the April 27 dinner at the Washington Hilton — and so instead will throw its own rival party at the same time.
