With or without the spell check – the dumb from the right protesting something that is so insignificant in the reality of US international affairs would be a joke – accept that they try so hard – to care. Why do they not care about the thousands killed under the Presidency of GWB – cannot think of any reason other than the President looks different than those who cannot spell.
And if I was there I would have my signs up saying what about Weapons of Mass Destruction, What about Katrina? What about the destruction of this Economy? Those Republicans are so dam stupid?
Who’s the idiot in Congress who yesterday went through all the attacks that PBO foiled as if they had actually happened, and said there were ZERO attacks under Bush after 9/11?
No, Congress isn’t trying to exempt itself from Obamacare
There’s a Politico story making the rounds that says that members of Congress are engaged in secret, sensitive negotiations to exempt themselves and their staffs from Obamacare.
Only parts of it, Jovie, I keep clicking back to TOD when the revulsion starts to build. I do want to hear PBO, he will put it all into perspective in his compassionate, gracious way.
Update: I just read that Cantor’s scheme to sneakily de-fund Obamacare won’t even come up for a vote because the loons in his party that now pollute the US Congress want to vote again to repeal Obamacare instead.
I really blame McCain for this. By unleashing Sarah Palin as if such an idiot could be VP, it opened the floodgates for every loon to run for Congress – and win.
Didn’t I hear earlier that they didn’t have the nerve to call anything associated with W a “library” and this is instead to be known as the George W. Bush Center?
PBO and FLOTUS walk away with honors for Grace and Dignity! They are simply divine…. Head and shoulders above those other people. (ugh – seeing W smirking… Some things never change, eh?) morning all….. Am over on CBS, couldn’t get WH.gov live…
I never miss watching an event where my President speaks. This will be an exception . My stomach turns at the thought of watching
this cooked-up, contrived GWB farce. I would rather sit and watch paint dry.
Off to Trader Joe’s I go… much more fun.
I’m with you, Hope. I’m working at home this morning and tried to watch that event, and had to mute and eventually click it off after just a few minutes. Will scan for images of President Obama and First Lady Michelle later. It’s nauseating seeing the Bush clan and Bill Clinton up there. President Obama has had to put up with a lot in his presidency.
Does anyone remember such Fever Pitch coverage…..other than on C-SPAN……when the Clinton Library was opened? I remembered that the media went after Clinton for the cost, design and the size. GW Bush had a life-size Statue of himself made.
While describing a hypothetical situation in which a small business owner might haggle a price with him, Oklahoma state Rep. Dennis Johnson (R-Duncan) used the phrase “Jew me down” and subsequently apologized to “the Jews,” claiming he meant no offense.
So we have Condi and the wife – not the greatest to give praise to an ex President.
Wonder how the past will be “presented” – not to mention Mrs Bush using the royal “We” – I thought George was supposed to be President. I so love that Michelle supports her husband – but so does her own thing & doesn’t presume to have any part of the President’s role.
W is still making weird faces—-strange grimaces—-contorted expressions—-brings back memories of cringe-worthy embarrassment that this doofus was our president.
On a brighter note: maybe this is a very good thing ~ a timely reminder of who W really is, and what he has done to this country… Perhaps enough time has passed, enough (tho not enough) positive change has taken place with PBO, and now viewers and VOTERS will have some perspective on the past. No one can see this group together and not perceive the immense difference PBO makes to the entire concept of president.
Up and at ’em all you O’s!!!! It’s a great getting up day on the TOD veranda, doncha know! Dropping in to say a quick howdy.
So is the rumor that all the books on the first floor of the library will be My Little Pony, and turned upside down? I also heard that visitors will be seated in elementary school chairs. To gain access to the second floor, you have to dodge shoes thrown at you. Once there, you’ll find Dick Cheney sitting on a throne, tucked away in an undisclosed reading nook.
Yes, it was thought that he might have disappeared to commit suicide; apparently he left a three-word “goodbye, cruel world” type of note when he vanished.
And, President Barack Hussein Obama, True Teacher that he is, schools them all, THIS is how a President conducts himself. THIS is how it’s done. No one will EVER top this man, EVER.
Just the right tone and respect from President Obama. That was tough duty, but he managed to find some highlights, rose to the occasion once again. I was reminded again of Valerie Jarrett’s description—–that even when he has disagreements, he always allows his adversaries a measure of self-respect.
Love how PBO intertwined the issue of immigration and working together for ALL people into his speech. He is one smart man!!! And I LMAO as Bill Clinton basically called GWB a dumb ass!!
Damn I had a phone call just in the middle of his speech. I missed this. I knew though that President Obama wouldn’t miss this occasion to preach for understanding and unity.
Yep, he said he hope this will get done soon then brought it back to GWB by saying if it does, it will be in part due to the work of GWB. The man is brilliant , I tell you!
I agree, LadyTnt, he was superbly on point with this… Maybe it will cause some of the flapjacks in Congress to remember that PBO was not always President, as so many of them are obsessed with him and everything he does. There is a continuum, PBO is merely turning the arc in a truer direction, like a capable navigator of time and human effort.
I think he is sincere… there had been a lot of legislative work during the Bush presidency. However, you can’t help but admire the political brilliance of using George W. Bush in advocating for immigration reform. Ha !
PBO was very wise to make this about immigration reform, challenging the audience to think about the greater good rather than droning on with trivial tidbits about himself.
Damn Pierce is good. Another excellent read. Some with his usual sarcasm and adroit manipulation of the English language, some said in complete seriousness, like this line right neat the end. Read it all.
No, he doesn’t deserve the day. There are hundreds of thousands of Americans and Iraqis who don’t get today.
Looking at the whole ceremony, I can’t help but thinking that the Bush presidency is a tragedy. The man doesn’t seem evil; he simply had/has a destructive and delusional ideology; he lacked the knowledge, lacked the analytic mind necessary to fully apprehend the complexity of the world and to make good decisions.
This is something that has bothered me since last Friday. I saw a picture of the suspect climbing out of the boat that he was hiding in just before he was taken into custody. My first reaction was how can someone who was deemed in critical condition be able to climb out of a boat?
Then I saw a press conference on Monday (I think) with the police chief and he was asked it the suspect fired on the police when they found him at the boat. His answer was “he wasn’t sure” (it was under investigation). His next statement was that when the gun fire started he yelled for them to hold their fire. Why, if the suspect was shooting at them would he give this order?
That presser left me with an uncomfortable feeling.
I know its early in the investigation but those pictures of that boat riddled with bullets tells me we may have had an overly aggressive police force when they found out he was there.
No such luck for little Martin Richards and the 3 other adults.
The two bombers has ONE Gun. That was reported yesterday and bystander in his apt took pictures. I also do not believe that #2 ran down his brother for either. Eventually, hopefully the truth would come out. Once they used bombs last week……the Police are human…..one of their own was killed……therefore, under the law, had #2 been killed, there would not have been an investigation as to how he died.
The police will always say “we thought he had a gun” when firing on an unarmed person – maybe it is because there are just too many guns and they assume everyone is armed – maybe they are just scared as to what they are facing – or maybe they are way too agressive in all situations. Today it seems to be the instant assumption – with the media and right wing encouragement – that every event is “terrorism” – of the 9/11 style.
Most are not – This was a man out of his depth and a young brother who no doubt believed everything his older sibling had to say. It was no different to the many other events of recent times – although using bombs instead of guns may have related to ease of getting the former to where they wanted to cause havoc – and escaping alive and uncaptured.
It is the media and the right wing politicians who so want this to be much more than it was. By their actions they invite more disgruntled youth to think this is the way to become famous. They should be treated as every other criminal.
I only watched a few minutes of the presidents speaking. It’s just too uncomfortable to watch people pretend that the sky is green and that we should all appreciate this green sky.
I am so excited.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha……”Give me Begazi or give me spell check.”
A mind really is a terrible thing to waste.
That. Is. Priceless!!!!!!
Well, it is Texas after all. Remember this sign for Perry ?
morans 😉
😉
No Child Left Behind ~ it’s an illiteracy thing.. Move this country backwards, was W’s creed…
And if I was there I would have my signs up saying what about Weapons of Mass Destruction, What about Katrina? What about the destruction of this Economy? Those Republicans are so dam stupid?
Can’t it just be Friday already? Friday’s good!
Ha, I’m with you Judith!!
It’s Friday in my world Judith – always good
Yes, I will be glad when this thing is o.v.e.r.
oh, did they include his paintings in the shine-to-failure?!?
http://animalnewyork.com/2013/look-at-george-w-bushs-paintings/
what an absolute freakshow!!!
Who’s the idiot in Congress who yesterday went through all the attacks that PBO foiled as if they had actually happened, and said there were ZERO attacks under Bush after 9/11?
GM TODers.
On that list they always forget the 15 yrs old who rammed a plane in a FL Building in 2001/2002. The right Never want the truth to be told.
No, Congress isn’t trying to exempt itself from Obamacare

Ugh…..Mr . Noun, Verb and 911 is on MSNBC.
What for ?
OH HELL NO, the thug Dick Cheney. Can. Not. Watch.
FLOTUS looks beautiful (as usual).
I thought he was not going to be there…..
Are you watching this dedication to the Man who ruined and divided this Country?
Will he also be given a golden key to the Country?
Come on Man?
Only parts of it, Jovie, I keep clicking back to TOD when the revulsion starts to build. I do want to hear PBO, he will put it all into perspective in his compassionate, gracious way.

I had thought that I heard it too, dotster, but I see the inscription on the building states lieberry and museum.
PBO and FLOTUS walk away with honors for Grace and Dignity! They are simply divine…. Head and shoulders above those other people. (ugh – seeing W smirking… Some things never change, eh?) morning all….. Am over on CBS, couldn’t get WH.gov live…
Good God, that prayer was cringe inducing.
Could that W lapel pin been any bigger? Who are these people?
Meta, they are has-beens. They do not measure up to the present, they will not measure up in the future.
I never miss watching an event where my President speaks. This will be an exception . My stomach turns at the thought of watching
this cooked-up, contrived GWB farce. I would rather sit and watch paint dry.
Off to Trader Joe’s I go… much more fun.
Don’t forget the cheesies!
Thanks for the reminder MP. 🙂 🙂
Are you going to start this AGAIN?!?! Do you want me to weigh 500 pounds?
😳 Sorry, 57, was trying to be helpful to Hope44…. 😳
OMG, this is a horror show.
POTUS and FLOTUS look magnificent in a sea of very creepy people.
Cannot watch condo, cannot…
Glad the officer who lead the Pledge was wearing a pretty dress which showed off her prosthetic leg, no doubt a gift from Iraq…
Lots of “former Prime Ministers” current ones not around?
If Condi Rice is the best supporter on offer – sad – just sad
Their announcer really sucks at saying people’s name… forgot to practice or what?
The white house feed is solely focused on POTUS and FLOTUS. I approve.
I just swapped there – couldn’t agree more – why am I thinking they will have some laughs together when this is over
I agree. Love it!
jeebus republican dream show here today. Poor POTUS & FLOTUS having to be in this mess.
Does anyone remember such Fever Pitch coverage…..other than on C-SPAN……when the Clinton Library was opened? I remembered that the media went after Clinton for the cost, design and the size. GW Bush had a life-size Statue of himself made.

“Stupid is as stupid does”. ~ Forrest Gump
So does the current President always speak at these functions or did they request PBO because of his oratory skills?
GH Bush…..a good man. I wonder if he is all there, still?
That ultra-nice President Obama—–making small talk with Barbara Bush, smiling and chatting away.
I don’t know how he does–I really don’t! A better man than most, that’s for sure.
Excuse me while I go be sick….I’ll be back when my President speaks.
I get the impression that Barbara Bush really does like President Obama
I’m sure she does, she is old enough to know when she sees true human brilliance and quit pretending she doesn’t see it!
I’m done. Can’t stomach this insulting drivel.
Exactly Meta. I’m beyond disgusted.
It’s outrageous, really. How did we ever live through that Lost Decade? OMG.
And to see that idiotic traitor sitting there being praised…uh no. That’s a bridge too far.
I’m going to vomit.
His meds are not responding today.
On a brighter note: maybe this is a very good thing ~ a timely reminder of who W really is, and what he has done to this country… Perhaps enough time has passed, enough (tho not enough) positive change has taken place with PBO, and now viewers and VOTERS will have some perspective on the past. I saw him do one of his disgusting jaw jerks and that was it for me.
Here: let’s light em up for POTUS and FLOTUS! http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO
Whoa….
I read that PBO’s ‘line had been crossed’ and we should see a new, stronger Syrian policy from PBO.
Oh gosh. Not good at all. This probably means we are going to take some military action there and all the headache that brings… yesh
I just had the same sinking feeling in my heart when I read this. Damn.
You can bet Secretary Kerry and his team are working like crazy to convince Russia to do something to help …
Carter going to brief.. because what other way could he be trying to say something nice about Bush.
🙂
be brief.
Followed the rule – if you can’t say something nice – say nothing. The fight overseas against aids – that was about it.
wow pops had not too much to say about his own son did he? weird.
Rewriting history – Did Bill Clinton say that
I spit diet coke all over my computer
I’m wondering if Clinton is sober!!
Off I go to finish the many projects underway!!
I saw tweets about this earlier but I don’t post or re-tweet unless confirmed. I guess this is now confirmed. Oh, God……
It was said he suffered from a very severe case of depression. RIP
Yes, it was thought that he might have disappeared to commit suicide; apparently he left a three-word “goodbye, cruel world” type of note when he vanished.
Just heart broken. I saw his two siblings on Piers Morgan last night. So very sorry for his Family.
alright Clinton is getting too weird.
Yes – President Obama
alright after POTUS I’m outta here. Don’t be too kind Mr. President please.
PBO is just too nice and too kind – but concentrating on the family man
POTUS humanizing Bush… impossible task that frankly only his heart & words are capable of doing.
well not me Mr. President.. sorry but I will never wish well to that pos. But I’m grateful for a current President who can.
When he got back to his chair I imagined him whispering to FLOTUS…just kidding!
She does not look especially thrilled to be there. I can relate—must be near excruciating, having to listen to all that undeserved praise.
She knows how Bush is responsible for the fact that his husband’s presidency is one of the most difficult in decades.
And, President Barack Hussein Obama, True Teacher that he is, schools them all, THIS is how a President conducts himself. THIS is how it’s done. No one will EVER top this man, EVER.
WORD!!!!!!!!!!!
well said MP… and totally true.
PBO was again masterful. I don’t know how he did it without busting out laughing but he did.
Just the right tone and respect from President Obama. That was tough duty, but he managed to find some highlights, rose to the occasion once again. I was reminded again of Valerie Jarrett’s description—–that even when he has disagreements, he always allows his adversaries a measure of self-respect.
It’s one thing to have class….and entirely different thing to have class and brilliance combined…so rare
Rewriting history about covers it – Never will anyone have to rewrite the legacy of PBO.

This!
I think he is sincere… there had been a lot of legislative work during the Bush presidency. However, you can’t help but admire the political brilliance of using George W. Bush in advocating for immigration reform. Ha !
I laughed at that too—-“I don’t know anything about the German health care system” ——-could have added “I don’t know anything about anything.”
Yep and I think that’s why he gave that example.
Immigration is one of two issues GWB was close to getting it right on. The other was AIDS.
PBO was very wise to make this about immigration reform, challenging the audience to think about the greater good rather than droning on with trivial tidbits about himself.
I found it odd that PBO was introduced as “President of the United States” without uttering his name.
We The People Have ONLY One POTUS at a Time. That is Why.
I have only one comment about this ‘library’ dedication …
#TrustBarack
bbl … long day of meetings …..
Damn Pierce is good. Another excellent read. Some with his usual sarcasm and adroit manipulation of the English language, some said in complete seriousness, like this line right neat the end. Read it all.

Completely changing the topic.

Officials: Boston Bombing Suspect Was Unarmed When Arrested

I know its early in the investigation but those pictures of that boat riddled with bullets tells me we may have had an overly aggressive police force when they found out he was there.
Time will tell……
It was Not his time to go. He was darn Lucky.

Yeah, there are some questions to be answered. I’m just glad he was captured alive…
The police will always say “we thought he had a gun” when firing on an unarmed person – maybe it is because there are just too many guns and they assume everyone is armed – maybe they are just scared as to what they are facing – or maybe they are way too agressive in all situations. You notice Bush has a kind of nervous laugh cuz the joke is…”can you believe this idiot was actually President”.
Dubya used to giggle into the camera when he couldn’t answer a question.
I’m not bias, but the best President and First Lady are the Obamas, the Clintons second place. Well I am bias. 🙂
Good morning /afternoon TODville & Chips
Love that cartoon, it reminds me of what Chavez said about smelling the sulfur

Can anyone believe Chunky Toad is defending GW Bush?
The media sees everything through their own reality – which is truly make believe
Do you remember that movie “Chuckie”, that doll which would never die. You could never get rid of that sucker. Meet Chuckie “GOP” Todd.
I miss the Lie-brary opening. 😦
I only watched a few minutes of the presidents speaking. It’s just too uncomfortable to watch people pretend that the sky is green and that we should all appreciate this green sky.
1. Mrs. Obama 2. Mrs. Clinton 3. Mrs. Carter 4. The two Mrs. Bushes.
So FINALLY Laura stopped wearing those ridiculous peplums on all of her jackets?
Okay. Mark Sanford is the weirdest guy to ever run for office. Just sayin’.
