I’m so glad that Barack Obama is MY president!! šŸ˜€ I’m not sure I could have been as gracious as he was at Shrub’s Liberry opening.

Wow! Congrats Ison! It has become a habit that each time I pop in at night I spot you on top of the podium. Way to go! šŸ˜†
Me, I was very encouraged to hear the evening news report on my side of the world on the subject of the Bush library. It made mention of the fact that he was ‘still’ not a favourite president and LISTED many of his failures, all in a very factual (non-negative) tone.

BTW – Hi to all TODobots, near and far!

I don’t mean any disrespect to the people at the West Tx. memorial but the looks on some of their faces when PBO was speaking was chilling to me…….I could almost feel the contempt, especially on one woman’s face that they kept showing…..but there were some that had a warm attentive look and you could tell they appreciated him being there…..

    • April 25, 2013 at 6:16 pm

I didn’t watch the ceremony precisely because I was afraid those would be the looks they’d get.

Yes I think the important thing is that he reached the ones whom he needed to reach.

kathryn – I only allowed myself to peek at the audience, every now and then. I saw some stony looks, but also some attentive looks, too. However, I think their applause was quite appropriate and welcoming in spots, and at least there were no shout-outs of “You lie.” Sad when it comes to that, but hard to trust there will always be respect shown for the office AND the man. This mighty fine man.

At first, I thought it was disrespectful to see all of the cowboy hats still on the heads of some of the gentlemen, but calmed myself down thinking they probably left them on for Cornyn and the others, too, and it wasn’t in church, and it was Texas, so seemed normal.

Has the president started his flight home yet?

So, stressed over nothing. Missus’ UEI went through. Yay!

Well, good for her, LL. Didn’t want to say anything before, but those interviews can be nervewracking – my son had one once where he told the total truth and his company lied. Apparently, companies never lie according to “some people.”

      • April 25, 2013 at 8:15 pm

Well, the thing is, she didn’t actually have to go through the interview. She finally reached the person she needed to reach, and she said “Oh, we talked to your employer, you’re fine.”

I know I work for the gubmint myself, but sweet Buddha, they could’ve just eschewed the interview all together. Waste of time and resources.

          April 25, 2013 at 8:20 pm

That is great, great news. I used to work for the gubmint, too, and I vividly remember some of my colleagues in HR who never believed that employees who were claiming workers’ compensation were EVER telling the truth. In the grand, subjective scheme, y’all got lucky.

          • April 25, 2013 at 8:22 pm

Well, missus and her employer didn’t leave on bad terms. Basically, it was his lawyer saying that, in light of the lawsuit they’re facing, it would be in the best interest of the company to let her go. She’ll get a great reference from him and go on to a less stressful job.

All’s well that ends well. Less stressful job = best outcome (along with the favorable decision!).

I guess I, wearin’ it like a badge, get to appreciate both of them, then, especially Helen who wrote:

“In fact, the only one in the family who seems to have any brains at all is the mother, Barbara Bush, who said the country has had enough Bushes’ in the White House. I couldn’t agree more. I hear, however, that she’s a real bitch. That’s certainly alright by me. It takes one to appreciate one.”

When they were showing the tape of the family of the firefighters I saw FLOTUS with something white in her hand, I assume it was a tissue or something for her to wipe her tears. I have always said that FLOTUS and POTUS concern for people is real, nothing fake or phony.

Why is he appalled? People neede the loot, right?

Flipped to Hardball just in time to hear that fool from Politico say, Bush had said President Obama was extremely gracious. Chuck Todd said, “he must have had a low bar. How low was that bar?” They talked past him and I almost broke my television turning it off!

I caught a little bit of Tweety today flapping his gums with Howard (my sources tell me) Fineman talking about the Bush Library. All I can say is Tweety puts the GAS in GASBAG. It was just nauseating the way everybody was tiptoeing around the wreckage produced by the Bush administration. Unbelievable……

President Obama is a remarkable human being. He’s just good inside. He has a way of making his critics look small and petty.
