Hey, I was talking to myself in the last thread.

While the President is at the Whitehouse participating in the annual science fair, the Justice Department is out in Boston laying the legal wood on young Mr. Bomber’s ass. No fanfare, no drama, and no preening in front of any cameras.

That’s the beauty of this administration in action. No peacocks, jerks or whiners. Just a collection of hard working individuals doing their jobs, and doing it well.

The white house will not try this bomber as an enemy combatant like the GOP jokers want! Good news!

I think it has something to do with him being a legal citizen, President Obama using the dang law again to bring the Boston Bomber to justice.

Strikes me as funny when they squawk about drone strikes on “American citizens” in foreign countries but citizens here they want to throw to the wolves. Go figure.

The entire event was fantastic from start to finish. Science is so bloody cool and it’s wonderful having a kick ass bonafide nerd president.

Wonderful way to begin the week.

“What if he is, as he still appears to be, merely Dylan Klebold with a funny name and a pulse?”

Yep. Way more likely this was a bomber version of Columbine than any thing else one might reasonably conjecture at this point.

Bob, I was listening to someone on the t.v. or the radio the other day saying almost the exact same thing. These guys didn’t think this bombing all the way out if they were actually planning on getting away, actual suicide bombers don’t try to get away. These two guys set off a bomb, then as an after-thought car-jacked someone to take them to an ATM machine to get money for god knows what.

IMHO the older brother fomented this because he was denied citizenship and it probably galled him that his “little” brother got ahead of him. Sibling rivalry anyone?

What the Republicans want is for President Obama to come out on the south lawn dressed in a fighter pilot’s suit carry his helmet with one hand and holding up to the crowd the severed head of the bomber in the other hand.

Howdy doody all you O’s!! It’s a great getting up day again on planet TOD! I took a little break to get my Ying and Yang in back in harmony. When certain events occur I have to readjust my Zen. It’s either that, or retreat to undesirable vices, which are few, but very potent. Anyway, good to see everyone still in their places with bright shiny faces.

btw Liberal Librarian, don’t know if the Mrs can use this, but I get notifications of this stuff, just in case #2 decides to do something in the medical field one day. This one is for nurses. http://www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/scholarships/Nursing/index.html.

Hay Senator Richard Burr N.Carolina Senator, look who else can buy guns without a back ground check. Thanks for looking out for terrorists. That’s my email to the Senator.

        April 22, 2013 at 4:52 pm

I wrote him also, Anniebella……….So, Mr. Burr, you voted against background checks for all gun sales and the Boston terrorists had guns without background checks. The next incident is on YOU. Hope you can look at yourself in the mirror or look at your children and grandchildren. You sure endangered mine. We are not going away and we don’t forget.

Folks, if indeed the bomber brothers acquired guns in a gun show, the background checks will be back on the Senate floor very very soon, and will pass overwhelmingly. And republicans will look like fools. I can’t wait.

What wonderful young ladies and what a great invention. When I see young people like these two, I am reminded that many kids are using their talents in a positive manner and that the future is in safer hands than it sometimes seem. Good to see our PBO participating with such enthusiasm as always. These young ladies will remember and be inspired by his attention probably for the rest of their lives.

Ceb, I was thinking the same thing and also how refreshing it is to see intelligent, articulate young people develop creative projects and see them through to this level of visibility. After all the gloom about a world gone mad, this gives me hope for the future

Canada foils ‘al-Qaeda inspire’ terror attack on train

Canada’s authorities say they have arrested and charged two people with conspiring to carry out an “al-Qaeda inspired” attack on a passenger train. … http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22258191

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are expected to announce Monday afternoon that Canadian law enforcement officials have “thwarted a plot to carry out a major terrorist attack, arresting suspects in Ontario and Quebec,” the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported.
An official with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police tells CNN that the plot intended to target “transport links,” but would not provide further details. The source confirmed that there is no link between the Canadian investigation and the Boston bomb attack, and added there was no known link with the Canadians involved in the terror attack on the Algerian gas plant in January.
The CBC, which is a CNN affiliate, quoted “highly placed sources” as saying the suspects were under surveillance for more than a year.
No connection exists between the disrupted plot in Canada and the Boston Marathon bombings, U.S. government sources told CNN’s Carol Cratty.
The CBC reported that the investigation was “part of a cross-border operation involving Canadian law enforcement agencies, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.”

    Agh!!

Alycee, I’m sure the governor’s office is in a panic about this and doing everything it can to keep it under wraps. Corbett is a corrupt fool and he is sinking like a stone. I’m rooting for Treasurer for McCord, not only to embarrass Corbett now, but to beat him the 2014 election.

        April 22, 2013 at 4:54 pm

Yeah, I’m rooting for McCord, too! I believe that he is the best candidate, announced or unannounced (looking at you, my buddy Joe Sestak), for Governor.

BTW, how did your workshop go?

I know the media is desperate to link the current bombing to some other outside plot, esp. Al Qaeda related – but the triple murders in Waltham took place on Sept 12, not Sept 11th. Note that the Boston Globe cites a relative’s account and does NOT give the accurate date. I wonder why?
