Excellent tweet, kasai, and so true. I’ve lived under many presidents, but PBO is the only one I’ve seen who does what he says and means what he says. All of those years that Osama bin Laden lived out in the open in Pakistan, and GWB made no real effort to apprehend him, claimed he wasn’t “concerned” about it. PBO got him within the first two years of his first term in office because he made it a priority. We no longer have to worry about OBL executing another terrorist plot against us.

Although I like to think it wouldn’t have made any difference, is there any doubt that PBO directed that he be taken alive if at all possible unless there was a direct threat to other civilians?

No doubt in my mind, and I thought of the same thing, earlier. Take him alive, read him his rights, give him a fair trial. And debrief him at some point to find out why.

No matter what Lindsay Graham and the others want.

It wasn’t that long ago, they were raising hell because they said Americans in Yemen were being targeted by drones without being given the benefit of due process. Now we have an American in America, but he shouldn’t be read his rights? They are a bunch of sickos!

No. They simply look at what President Obama, and take the opposite position. It’s about always, always saying he doesn’t do a good job.

For folks like Liz Cheney, the Constitution is a flexible document when they want to break the law, otherwise, its words are meant to be unchangeable, immutable. This is why it’s so easy for them to talk about their dedication to the Constitution while taking women’s right to make their own healthcare decisions away from them and telling Americans who they can/can’t love/marry. This tells me these folks aren’t serious individuals and no one should listen to anything they say.

Yes, but since when did diehard conservatives ever let the truth prevent them from trying to push their own beliefs down our throats, isonprize? These folks are a joke, imo. This is why they always run to Fox News or the WSJ to spread their special version of crackpot ideas.

Were is Glenn Greenwald? Why isn’t he calling for Lindsey Graham to be kicked out of the Senate for advocating the violation of the Constitutional rights of an American citizen who should be presumed innocent until he is proven guilty beyond any reasonable doubt?

Liz Cheney, there is a special place in Hell reserved for you; it is next to your father and when he finally expires and passes from this Earth, that place will be waiting for you as you will no longer have any place here on this planet.

Notice reporters are asking many of the same questions I had earlier—-about how suspects came to the attention last night—–and the 7-11 misinformation (didn’t rob—just happened to be there?) —–said campus officer was “assassinated”, that he was responding to “a disturbance”. Still hazy. Hopefully, there will be further clarification as we proceed.

Praise God this is finally over! A few thoughts:

    1) Kudos to the law enforcement and everyone else who brought justice and relief after these five days of hell. Seeing the impromptu parade and cheering on the Watertown streets brought a tear to my eye and a smile to my face! Now THAT was the true finish line.

    2) CNN and these other media outlets – save for CBS, NBC, and local – can officially stick a fork in themselves, they’re DONE. (Hell, Scott Pelley even SOUNDS like Walter Cronkite.) These past few days were historical in terms of media and news reporting, and I can definitely understand why we the people are considered the new media. However…after all the false accusations of Sunil Tripathi being a suspect last night, I’m now doubting that even we the people are non-biased enough to run the 4th Estate. Someday, someday we’ll get it right…the country depends on it.

    3) The blatant racial profiling I’ve seen on cable news these past few days is shameful. And if and when Sunil is found alive, I hope he, his family, and the other “dark-skinned” people who were falsely pointed at as suspects get a huge collective lawsuit going towards certain presses!

    4) Dear President Obama, now is the time for an executive order on gun control.

if the mass murderer they caught today is able to talk, i expect similar sentiments as republican/libertarian timothy mcveigh said after he was caught:

    “McVeigh said:
I am sorry these people had to lose their lives. But that’s the nature of the beast. It’s understood going in what the human toll will be.[68]
He said that if there turned out to be an afterlife, he would “improvise, adapt and overcome”,[68] noting that:
If there is a hell, then I’ll be in good company with a lot of fighter pilots who also had to bomb innocents to win the war.[69]
    He also said:
I knew I wanted this before it happened. I knew my objective was state-assisted suicide and when it happens, it’s in your face. You just did something you’re trying to say should be illegal for medical personnel.[70]”

you read mcveigh’s writing before and after he was caught, and it’s almost exactly what rand paul (a republican) and his champions say today. they completely ignore the fact the constitution says you control your government through voting, not attacking it physically. they throw false equivalencies all over the place, and mcveigh consistently said his killing and maiming of close to 1,000 of his fellow innocent americans, including 19 children under 5, was justified because of vietnam and iraq invasion #1. he never acknowledges how he’s supposed to fix a wrong such as those through protest and voting, yet claims to love the constitution. this is exactly what republicans/libertarians/ron-paul-spawn say to this day while claiming to own the constitution, without any irony that they’re promoting the exact opposite of the constitution, which explicitly states the elected government needs to “suppress insurrection.” this adult man will probably asy something similar but referencing different countries and cases from timothy mcveigh. their points will be the same.

and the mainstream media repeats their lies for them every single goddamn day without any questioning whatsoever. we have got to starve the beast that is “the news” in america, and we might be able to save the republic after all!
