From what I’m hearing on TOD about the #newstainers, they are much like the panel on this old TV show, especially WHPC. They don’t deserve a dinner this year. At least not with Pres. Obama, but they’d really go crazy I guess.

Not only is that a touching message to the US, it is also a reminder that whjat we view as a rare tragedy here is all too commonplace in many areas of the world. We should view that fact as a blessing and not use the extremely rare event like the marathon bombing as a negative political tool.

Amen. I would say a growing number of us are there already and certainly young people are. But there is still an insidious element of our society that has to “label” the other in order to affirm themselves. Unfortunately, they are often the loudest element as well.

“But there is still an insidious element of our society that has to “label” the other in order to affirm themselves.” Yes, indeed, Jackie G! And that “insidious element” dominate the current so called mainstream media that many Americans depend on for information.

In the craziness that has been these week, this quote is firmly sitting in my thoughts and I can’t get rid of it so maybe in sharing it I can at least clear my mind:
The thoughts manifest as the word
The word manifests as the deed
    The deed develops into habit
And the habit hardens into character
So watch the thought and its ways with care
And let it spring from Love
Born out of concern for all beings
As the shadow follows the body…
As we think so we become
From the Dhammapada (the sayings of Buddha)

and thanks Don for sharing through your lens the Black Man’s reality. I am just sickened by how events have unfolded. Maybe there is a reconstruction and construction of our cultural perception going on, (you know that change PBO promised?), and in the dust we are seeing how courageously the black man has soldiered on, then brown got added to the crime group, and now Chechen? I fear the color to blame is getting lighter and lighter until there is no where else to go…?

Just a little bit of info on Russian names. You will notice that the young men’s last name is Tsarnaev…..their aunt’s name is Tsarnaeva. This is the feminine form of the name. If you read Anna Karenina, remember her husband’s last name is Karenin. When she married him she took the feminine form Karenina. Reading Russian novels can get confusing with all the name variations, depending on relationship and gender.
Another instance of the feminine ending…..Tsar, Tsarina, Pavlov, Anna Pavlova.

There’s a really scared little boy out there. His big brother, idol is gone. And the entire world hates him.

I read the tweets of the 19 year old can’t spell his name… and to be honest he seemed like a normal guy. The reports about his tweets being chilling is being hyped by the media I just think something went wrong recently that made him committ such a deadly act. I found myself laughing at some points reading his tweets was that wrong of me to laugh? I don’t know

Nope, his tweet seemed normal to me too. Some parts seemed troubled but otherwise normal. He seems like a normal youth who was troubled and one thing after another led to this. Some in the media are making it seem like he was born a terrorist.

Boy, that GOP rep from Arkansas who tweeted about the liberals in Boston probably wished they had an AR-15 last night is getting absolutely creamed on twitter. I particularly love the ones that say, No, we in Boston aren’t wimps or paranoid or whatever like you must be.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26 year-old brother of the second Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev,
had a YouTube page where he posted religious videos, including a video of Feiz Mohammad, a
fundamentalist Australian Muslim preacher who rails against the evils of Harry Potter. Among those
videos is one dedicated to the prophecy of the Black Banners of Khurasan which is embraced by Islamic
extremists—particularly Al Qaeda. The videos posted on what appears to be Tsarnaev’s YouTube page may
shed light on the motivations for the attack on the Boston Marathon. The prophecy states that an invincible
army will come from the region of “Khurasan,” a large portion of territory in central Asia.

“This is a major hadith (reported saying of the prophet Muhammad) that jihadis use, it is essentially an
end-time prophecy,” says Aaron Zelin, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy “This is
definitely important in Al Qaeda’s ideology.” In The Black Banners, former FBI agent Ali Soufan’s book
about his pursuit of Al Qaeda that is named after this prophecy, Soufan describes the prophecy this way:

Khurasan is a term for a historical region spanning northeastern and eastern Iran and parts of Turkmenistan,
Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and northwestern Pakistan. Because of the hadith, jihadists believe that
this is the region from which they will inflict a major defeat against their enemies—in the Islamic version
    of Armageddon.

I would prefer if you did not post anything from Mother Jones, linking the suspects to Al Qaeda on this blog. None of this has been substantiated and David Corn and his colleagues at MSNBC have been pushing that Muslim/Al Qaeda angle all day with very little except rank speculation.

I’ve posted a tweet above to the effect that US gov’t officials involved in the investigation do NOT believe that the bombers have ties to Al Qaeda. David Corn and his colleagues at MSNBC are not part of the investigative team, and are playing a very dangerous game here.

One of the reasons the media is just making stuff up, is because of NO updates from authorities. This is due, in large part, because they are busy and don’t want to tip this kid off.
We do know, however, that blood was found and no additional bodies. Likely that Kids blood. So, he is broke and severely wounded, perhaps even dead in one if these houses, or a Cellar? Yet, no media wants to sift through these logical assumptions, it’s sexier to say Al Qaeda.
Again, the media might be right, but they also might be wrong.
I do think it is imperative, at some point for the Authorities to let us all know what the fuck is going on, as the media is just guessing and filling in the blanks.

CBS live feed just said that after investigating the brothers and its preliminary but there have been no known links to Al Qaeda. They cannot find where any training in the Middle East has taken place. They said that they may have self-radicalized.

Folks, I don’t have a clue but think about it. These guys first try to rob a convenient store. then they hi-jack a car and make the guy go to his ATM and take $800.00. They had no plan to get away (there car was in the shop for repair). They drop bombs at the Boston Marathon where cameras and video is taken place everywhere. This is not some sophisticated operation like the media wants you to believe. These were idiots IMO plain and simple.

There is now a CBS report that the 7-11 robbery was not related. Took the press all day to come up with that, which is really strange.

Good afternoon, TOD. Have been away from the tv and computer most of the day. See the #newstainers are still in the race to the bottom. Had turned on the tv once this afternoon, looked like there was a search going on; my first thought was WHY were the #newstainers compromising OpSec? If the perp was watching tv somewhere, he was getting detailed info on police movements.

Good news — Brother and family of D-i-L#2 is safe and sound. They live in the midst of the storm.
